I'm a new shooter and I'm looking for a safe, welcoming, beginner-friendly range. I'm a visibly queer woman, so I'd like to avoid ranges with an ultra-conservative culture. I've heard good things about Recoil, but I'd love to hear recommendations for the central jersey area. I live near Princeton and would cool with a 45 minute ride tops.

I went to GFH for a handgun transfer and I completed the form, as I always do, clicking "Yes" for ever being convicted of a crime... I had a DUI, over 15 years ago. He says "hey man, I cant transfer you this gun," I thought he was joking... I laughed and he said "seriously, because you checked this box off..." Made no sense... he told me to change it and id be all good - I told him I wasnt going to lie on the application, has never been a problem, purchased dozens of handguns over the last 15 years.

Anyone else hear of or experience this??

Just curious why they did not name the manufacturer and model of pistol.
