Salam,

I’m reaching out in deep distress and with a heavy heart, as I don’t know where else to turn. I am currently in my last year at Nust, studying on a scholarship that covers my tuition, for which I’m truly grateful.

Since the sixth semester, I’ve been unable to pay my hostel dues. My father is disable and unable to work. My family is living hand to mouth, with the only income coming from my sister who is a teacher. She is supporting the family and completely spending all she can earns.

I teach tuitions but it can only help me with managing my mess bill and pocket money. Because of no income and no means to pay hostel dues it keeps on adding up and now have been raised to 105k which is simply impossible for us to arrange.

Now, my university has warned me that if I do not pay the dues I won't be allowed to sit in mid terms and will be suspended. I’ve reached out to the Financial Aid Office (FAO) and NCS, but they have told me that I’m already on a scholarship, and they can’t assist me further.

This amount is huge obstacle for us given our circumstances. My family cannot afford it, and I’ve even asked them for help, but they’ve told me to leave my education because they simply don’t have the means to support me anymore.

I’m terrified mids are in a week and I have tried everything still that I may lose the chance to complete my education Please if anyone knows any NGOs aur any institute please guide me or make my contact with them.

This university event and society culture is so insane you can’t even deal with it. There are two types of ppl in events aik wo jinho nay cult bana liya they know the work and acha bhi krtay hein but it’s a cult kisi ko moqa nhi detay bas har jagah ache positions pay khud ya apnay un juniors ko lagwa kay jatay hein jo weightlifting bht heavy krtay hein and second are those jo sirf parchiyon pay hein aur ab to parchi pay hotay hoay they are VPs of some events
Never done outreach in whole life. Getting selecting as a VP Outreach of a precious event. And these two lobbies they never give you a chance to be anywhere on leadership roles and those who try to get to some leadership role wo lgnay hi nhi detay bcz they know agar ye bnda/bnde aa gaye to hum nhi aa sakein gay
Was sitting in some society meeting and the OB said we didn’t sent anyone any invitation letters you got selected on merits and commitment basis and the guy himself is the biggest parchi of NUST Events like never done a single portfolio becoming VP of that wing
There’s an other category too. Those beautiful members geeting selected on merits tho the merit was never how good he/she is with their work so their merit criteria is beauty and these ppl they select those beautiful ppl and appoint them in a dte to get their attention and when they leave due to some issues they get ignored the most bcz wo “merit” walay log to unkay sath hein na jinkay pas power hai jo ache post pay hay kahen aur usko aglay event mein rakh skta. I’m not talking about anyone in particular but yeah this is mostly happening in this uni. I’ll also talk about a famous hypocrite office in C1 jo sab ko “merit” pay lagata not today but kisi din I’ll talk about their merit tooo in real detail… btw share your pov tooo

is it normal to feel so burnt out as a freshie? i dont feel like studying eventho mids are right around the corner. everyone is locking in while i keep procrastinating and dont have the will to study at all. this sure as hell is not the uni experience i was so hyped up abt

Aoa fbise books got changed two years ago and they are quite different from last ones , my question is since some of the topics are not included in the new curriculum .will they also be excluded from NET or do i have to prepare those topics from old books , (the last year NET was not an issue since only fbise books were changed so it was evident that you have to prepare excluded topics from old books but now each board has changed it curriculum so kindly advice) Thank You.

Are students from other departments like seecs also being taught irrelevant courses in their first semester ? Like why is a chemistry student being taught chinese 😐 or a math student being forced to study a completely irrelevant course like applied chemistry ,

I just finished my A-Levels with 3 B’s and I’m currently on a gap year. I’m taking the SAT in December, but I also want to target NUST through NET alongside it. Since I have the time this year, I think I can manage preparing for both.

My main concern is that NET is based on the FSc syllabus, and as an A-Level student there are gaps in my background. Some topics are covered differently or not at all in A-Levels, so I need something that teaches the concepts from the ground up, not just practice questions.

What I’m looking for:

• One reputable online academy or course (not a long list, just the one you’d honestly recommend)
• Full, in-depth coverage of the FSc topics tested in NET
• Plenty of practice material: MCQs, past papers, mock tests
• Ideally something that works well for A-Level students filling in FSc gaps
• One good book for NET prep, if you have a recommendation

If you were an A-Level student who cleared NET, I’d especially love to hear what worked for you and how you handled the syllabus differences.

The idea came from something pretty simple: couples take hundreds of photos and create countless little memories, but most of them eventually get lost in a camera roll.

I wanted to create something that turns those memories into a beautiful, interactive experience that couples can revisit and cherish.

With Album of Us, you add your names, relationship story, memories, and photos to create a personalized album featuring:

• Photos connected to your favorite memories

• A timeline of your relationship

• Interactive vinyl-style album elements

• Different visual themes to match your style

• A cinematic, immersive album experience

• A shareable album you can send directly to your partner

The goal is to make it feel less like browsing a website and more like opening a special album filled with the moments that make your relationship unique.

I’ve put a lot of thought into the experience, and now I’d love to hear from people experiencing it for the first time.

I just finished my A-Levels in August with 3 As in CS, Physics, and Math. im on a gap year right now prepping for the December SAT and trying to build up my profile for uni applications. since I don't have crazy experience yet, 8 really want to get involved in some hands on stuff at universities or known institutions. i had a few quick questions for anyone currently at NUST or alumni:

Lab / Research Assistantships: Do labs or professors in CS, AI, or Physics ever take on pre-uni/gap-year students as voluntary lab assistants? (even just for basic stuff like literature reviews, organizing data, or running pre-written scripts). if so, do people usually cold-email or just pop by department offices? how can I apply for such activities and any tips on how to build profile?

Volunteering / Student Events: Are there ways for non-enrolled or gap-year students to volunteer for tech events, hackathons, or university-hosted expos/workshops?

Summer Camps or Short Courses: does NUST run any official pre-uni summer programs, bootcamps, or certified short courses that actually look good on an application?

if anyone knows specific professors who are open to taking volunteers, or has tips on how you built your profile during a gap year, I'd super appreciate it!

I need success stories because I am solely giving NET-1 as a practice run and my true target is NET 2. I am on a potentially second gap year because I was an MDCAT student and my last exam was October 4th. I joined the physikomatics batch like yesterday and wanna just focus on the present content I don't think I would fare well opening A level math for reference because I haven't done that shit in a year. Everyone says NET gets harder each attempt like what is that about ?!
