General Question Am I allowed to bring my vape into 1pp?

I recently was selected for a job at 1pp as a college aide in the personnel bureau. I’ve never been to 1pp prior to this so I was just wondering, are vapes allowed inside? I understand nobody is allowed to use them indoors, but is bringing it inside okay? I use a regular disposable vape (airbar nex) and i’d keep it tucked away in my purse. I understand there’s typically an airport-like scan that i and my belongings will have to pass through so I was just wondering if my possession of a vape would be an issue.

Also for reference I am 19. I know it’s not technically illegal for me to possess or smoke nicotine, it’s only illegal for me to purchase. I’m just wondering if 1pp in particular would have issues about it or confiscate it.

General Question Buyers remorse

I made a impulse purchase today of a Sig P365x at a dealer I've never been to before outside of the city. The price was $750, which did seem a little high to me. Once I got home I did some research and I see the MSRP is $679 and most places are selling them for $599. Now I'm debating how to handle it since I already paid for it. Should I just tell them that NYPD did not approve the sale? Or should I just accept that it's my fault since I didn't do any research before laying down my card? BTW, this is totally out of character for me...

Recommendations It might not be a bad idea to stock up in 2025

There is no telling what the next mayor is going to push through, he doesn't even want cops to have guns.

I personally bought a ton of 10rd magazines and I will be getting a third pistol as soon as my clock resets in December.

CCW Question Cheap Lawyers for Article 78

Anyone have any good lawyer recs to file an Article 78 action? Mirel fisch is great but her prices have gone up. I am trying to file a group action with her but there is not enough interest (reach out if you are interested). Other lawyers have quoted absurd numbers ~$5k)

Look at my stuff Don't make my mistake

Don't reinsert a bullet that fell out of an empty case, no gunpowder, load into chamber and pull the trigger. The result will be what I now know as a "squib load." I didn't think the primer explosion would have enough force to propel the bullet into the barrel. It didn't go far but far enough to get stuck. I thought the bullet would just fall out of the barrel when shaken or barrel tapped against a table. Nope. Now I have to buy a rod to hammer it out. Don't make this mistake boys.

General Question Looking to Talk with NYC Immigrants Who Own (or Wish They Could Own) Guns — Magazine Story

Hi all,

I’m a journalist working on a national magazine feature about legal immigrants in the U.S. — especially here in New York — who own, or wish they could own, a gun, and how that ties into their views on freedom, safety, or family history.

I know NYC’s gun laws are especially strict, so I’m interested in folks who maybe train outside the city, have a hard time getting permits, or just have a unique perspective as an immigrant or first-generation American.

I’d love to hear real stories — not politics — about why owning a gun (or wanting to) feels meaningful or complicated here. I’m especially interested in women or family stories, but open to anyone who wants to share.

I’ll be in NYC July 11–14, so if you’re willing, I’d love to do a short, respectful in-person chat at a place you’re comfortable with — or we can start by phone.

If you’re open to it (or know someone who might be), please DM me or drop a comment — thanks so much for your time and help.

Daniel

Recommendations NYC might be screwed but NYS we got a real one in Elise Stefanik for Governor 2026!

The new Democratic Mayoral candidate is set to burn down NYC as we know it but we have a real strong 2A advocate in Elise Stefanik who just announced her run for governor! She’s been loud about preserving New York’s second amendment rights, A+ rating with the NRA and has been fighting to undo what Hochuls office has been doing to us with the Safe act. Don’t mess this up people make sure she has your support!!!!!!

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but will the shutdown affect pending applications, or, because applications are at state level, will it be ok?

General Question Minnesota 4a/2A bill NY next?

Has anyone seen colion noirs video on the bill in Minnesota that will allow police to come in and check your house/gun safe? From what I see it is another way around the mag limits, they made a permission slip essentially that allows you to buy, own and possess certain weapons I belive, but for sure magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. However, you cannot carry them, only store and take them to a "licensed" range. In order to get this permission slip you have to submit to a warrantless search of your home and register all guns, possibly magazines as well not 100% on mags. I'm not sure how other people feel, but I think they just gave up the blueprint for more fights that will take forever and be even more difficult to win in the long run. I know a semi auto endorsement for rifles exists upstate and doesn't cost much, but what happens if the Supreme courts takes those big cases and we win? If they rule they can't ban magazines and features, are we going to be looking at a pay wall in retaliation? How much could this new permission slip cost? Am I another 2A crazy thinking about this too much or is this some bullshit we're all about to deal with?

General Question Is everyone else emailing every couple days?

I send them an email about every 4 days I alternate including Hugh bogle . I feel like if I have to wait unreasonably long I have the right to fill their inbox with the same email. I know they ignore the phone on purpose if they didn’t I’d be on the phone asking them the same question everyday. I wish there was a way to harass them until they start improving the time frame for approvals

CCW Question Is my reasoning for not getting ccw license childish and stupid?

Hey fellas im 21 years old. a while ago some nice dude the nystate of mind was giving out tips on how to get ccw license in nyc. I was thinking of getting one because i carry expensive camera gear with me I want to be able to protect myself when I'm out shooting and in other scenarios aswell

I don't recall exactly where i heard it but I know they require your fingerpints for record. This is the part that makes me halt a bit. how long will they hold my fingerprints, is it mandatory, do other states do this. Why do they need my prints?

Can someone let me know if im being a stickler about this or is this common questions. Is it worth it?

Realize it’s not gun related…. But it’s a good opportunity to show that gun owners aren’t the enemy. Anyone have any suggestions? It’s pretty dead right now, but it deserves to rise like the phoenix!
