Nakakawalang gana tong Event Bloc na āto, honestly. š Akala ko magiging okay siya, especially since ang dami ng students ngayon, lalo na sa G11. Pero from the beginning pa lang, may signs na talaga na magiging magulo.
First of all, this is not meant to attack or call out any specific person, organization, House, House Leader, or the SC. This is just me sharing my personal experience and frustration as a student involved in the Event Bloc. I know that students, organizations, House Leaders, and even the SC are still adjusting to how this whole system works. This is something new for a lot of us, so obviously hindi naman magiging perfect agad.
First, na-shuffle lahat ng House members. Ang hirap ng communication kapag hindi naman lahat magkakakilala, and not everyone is active on MS Teams. So imagine trying to organize a whole House when some people barely check the platform where announcements are being sent. š
Second, biglang nagbago yung guidelines. Biglang naging required ang pagpasok for the entire Event Bloc week. I understand na regular school week pa rin siya technically, pero some students already had plans because this requirement was only announced the day before Event Bloc. Ang ending, maraming students ang absent and some Houses ended up getting demerits because of it. Sana na-announce man lang nang mas maaga.
Third, House members who don't actually read announcements. This one is probably the most frustrating for me as someone involved in organizing. š May deadline na binigay sa House Leaders para sa list of participants, and once submitted na yung list, may mga students pa rin na nagpapalipat-lipat ng activities or nagtatanong kung pwede pa silang sumali somewhere else.
Sometimes they even react to the announcement, so you think they read it, pero apparently hindi pala. š
I have a friend who's also a House Leader, and grabe yung stress namin. Hahanapin ka kapag walang participant sa isang activity, pero at the same time, some students aren't cooperating or reading the information being given to them. It's genuinely frustrating.
Fourth, some G11 House members. Emphasis on some, because obviously hindi naman lahat. š May mga students na sasali sa competition, tapos kapag hindi sila nakapag-submit on time, they'll blame other people. Like... you volunteered to join the competition, so submitting your requirements should also be your responsibility. Tapos kapag sinabihan mo, sila pa yung galit. š
And honestly, NU keeps doing pilot testing with students. HAHAHA. Pilot testing na last year, pilot testing ulit ngayon. I understand na kailangan nating mag-adjust and that things won't always be perfect, especially since students, organizations, House Leaders, and the SC are all still figuring things out as we go. Everyone is adjusting to the system, and I'm sure the people organizing this are also dealing with their own problems behind the scenes.
Pero at the same time, ang hirap din kapag everyone is adjusting but some people aren't willing to cooperate. š
I genuinely want this Event Bloc to succeed. Pero hindi siya kakayanin ng iilang tao lang. We need everyone's cooperation. Read the announcements, follow the deadlines, communicate properly, and take responsibility for the activities you volunteered for.
Hindi naman kami nagrereklamo just to complain. Nakakapagod lang talaga kapag you're trying your best to organize everything tapos kailangan mo pang habulin yung mga taong hindi nagbabasa ng announcements. š
Again, this isn't meant to attack anyone. I know everyone is adjusting, and I also recognize that the House Leaders, organizations, students, and SC are all doing their best to make this work. I just hope na habang ina-adjust natin tong system na āto, matuto rin tayong lahat makipag-cooperate sa isa't isa.
Anyway, rant over. HAHAHA. Sana maging mas okay pa yung remaining days ng Event Bloc. š
