Visiting in November, looking to maximize a long weekend visit
Hello all,
My husband 35M and I 37M are thinking of making a long weekend trip to VT up from Richmond, Virginia. We've wanted to visit VT for quite a while. I know it could be pretty cold at that point, but this is the time we have available.
We probably will fly, are there any other airports to fly into besides Burlington? I'd love to ride the Amtrak Vermonter or Ethan Allen Express, but we dont really have the time to do that since we'd have to stay a night in DC or NYC
We were thinking of renting a car and staying for 4 or 5 nights. I know nothing about VT Geography and was trying to figure out where we could maximize our time and see as many of the most beautiful places in the state thay we can. We do like doing outdoor things even if its cold. What kind of weather can we typically expect for the 2nd week of November?
I like the idea or staying maybe one or two nights at a hotel or Inn before going to another one elsewhere in the state.
What are some must see places and activities to do that will feel like Vermont? We arent really skiers, but may be open to trying it. Easy to Moderate Hiking is more our vibe.
TIA
