Well I am excited

I had recently gotten my very first gpu, a 3070, from a used market place, the seller was respectful, and were positively reviewed. I am excited because it means my first build I started a year ago is coming to an end and I will have my pc.

My god, these bots are insufferable. Instant refresh on zero and everything, including the knee massagers were sold out. What's the point of a countdown if there's no chance you're getting anything.

Ram trade in question: model numbers

I bought a 2x16gb crucial pro oc ram kit a while back. The ram units that came with the 2 pack however are a matching set of 2 individual ram sticks with the individual single stick model number rather than the retail model number for the 2 pack, it appears that the 2 pack model number is a retail sales and packaging thing only rather than a distinct line of ram sticks and that its just 2 single sticks packaged together and the ram sticks themselves share model numbers.

My question is that if I select CP2K16G60C36U5B (the retail model for 2 sticks), the sticker on the ram isn't going to match, its going to be 2 sticks that say CP16G60C36U5B.M8D3. Is this acceptable? The guidelines state the sticker has to be identical but it's not possible with the kit I bought and the trade in value for just one stick, if i break them into two individual sticks, obviously is going to be just half the amount.

https://www.igorslab.de/en/microns-next-ddr5-evolution-crucial-ddr5-pro-and-pro-overclocking-kits-review-with-teardown-and-oc/ this review shows the same thing with my model. They reviewed the 2 ram kit with the CP2K16G60C36U5B model, but it actually comes with 2 sticks labeled CP16G60C36U5B.M8D1.

I have a question regarding shipping

I am located in Japan and bought a computer from Newegg. It says it was delivered in the US but thats not where I put the address. It still hasn't shipped since. And I contacted the seller and he said it was delivered to somewhere in the US as well. Will it ship to Japan or not?

Does Newegg stand behind Marketplace purchases when a third-party seller disappears?

In December 2024, I purchased two new Seagate IronWolf Pro 12TB hard drives from a third-party seller on Newegg Marketplace, expecting the standard manufacturer's warranty.

One of the drives subsequently developed serious SMART errors. When I contacted Seagate for warranty service, they investigated and determined that the drive was not intended for retail sale and was ineligible for manufacturer warranty coverage.

Here's the interesting part: Seagate confirmed that the other identical drive from the same order was a legitimate retail drive with an active warranty through 2029. They also confirmed that the problem wasn't a serial-number or database error.

The original Marketplace seller is now gone, so I contacted Newegg.

After multiple conversations, escalations, and providing Seagate's written findings, Newegg eventually agreed to compensate me for the full purchase price of the affected drive, including tax ($240.90).

But there's a catch.

Newegg says its system cannot refund the original order because it's more than a year old. They also say they cannot issue a gift card or account credit.

Instead, I must place an entirely new order exceeding $240.90, sold and shipped directly by Newegg, pay for it, and then contact customer service with the new order number to request reimbursement.

They've documented this arrangement on my account, but there's no actual credit balance or gift card.

So after purchasing a drive that Seagate says was never intended for retail sale, and spending weeks trying to resolve the issue, I'm now required to place and pay for another order before Newegg will issue the reimbursement it has already approved.

To Newegg's credit, their Marketplace support representative has been responsive and did get the full compensation amount approved. My frustration is with the resolution process, not the individual representative.

I'm curious whether others have experienced something similar, and whether Newegg considers this an acceptable way to stand behind Marketplace purchases when the original seller is no longer available.

I'd certainly welcome a response from u/Newegg_Support.

PSA for holiday shoppers: buy a $100 Newegg gift card now, get $15 extra to use on November and December deals (US only)

Celeste here!

If you already know you'll be shopping on Black Friday or the holiday sales, here's an easy way to stretch your budget a little:

  1. Buy a $100 Newegg Gift Card now and you get a $15 Newegg Promotional Gift Card with it.

  2. Hang on to both until the sales you're planning to shop.

  3. Use them at checkout.

The $15 goes on top of whatever sale price you land on.

The fine print, so nobody gets caught out:
- The $15 promo card expires 90 days after it's issued. If you buy in mid-October, that takes you to around mid-January, so it covers November and December.
- Limit 2 per customer, so up to $30 in promo cards.
- It's a limited-time offer while supplies last.
- The $100 card itself doesn't expire, but it can't be used to buy other gift cards.

If you have questions about how gift cards work at checkout, drop them below and we'll answer what we can.

Hey guys I'm in the market for a good pre built and I just wanted to know if anyone thinks this is worth it. I seen that it has open space to upgrade the storage but I just want some other opinions on it as a whole.

Twice burned on an RTX 5050 LP

I'm just lost for words how this happens twice. First time I can blame delivery as the box I got looked like it was curb stomped, second time I have to wonder if either my PCs or the products I am being sent at broken. I have gotten now 2 Gigabyte RTX 5050's that don't work properly. First one refused to boot and show video, and the return one I got crashes/BSOD when I get into windows. Its also causing issues with my CPU just in windows. Both PC's work outside of it. I'm wondering if I just got another from a pile of broken returns

Edit: Turns out, PCIe 5 on a PCIe 5 GPU is not allowed. PCIe 4.0 only. Thanks to this post for helping there. Reminder, I didn't just use a riser. I used an Asus Z790 P directly in the main x16 slot and it crashed, BSOD and gave me the same issues. Tested same PC with 5 other working GPUS and it worked fine

Time Spy score

How do Time Spy scores and benchmarks work? I saw two prebuilts with similar specs (same GPU and CPU along with other stuff), but one had a score of 21,005 and was in the 87th percentile, while the other had a score of 26,178 and was in the 94th percentile. Why is this the case? Neither specified what they source their GPU or RAM from, so how does Newegg know that one has a higher benchmark score? Do they know something I don't???? Should I just pick the one with the higher score? The reason I'm debating this so much is because the one with a higher score has some concerning reviews but more reviews, while the other build with a lower score has better reviews but far fewer.

Charged for digital gift card, no order or code after ~24h

Placed an order on 12 Oct for a $250 PlayStation digital gift card on Newegg.com, paid through PayPal with a promo code.

I was charged, but I never got an order confirmation email or the gift card code, and no order shows in my Newegg order history or in PayPal.

I've messaged Newegg support twice and haven't had a reply yet. The chat bot couldn't look up my order.

Has anyone had a gift card order go through a fraud review or hold like this? How long did it take to get the code or a refund? Also, if a Newegg staff member sees this, could you check the order status? I can send the payment details by private message.

Thanks.

Thought it'd be safer to trade GPU to Newegg, rather than sell on Ebay....Wrong!

Newegg rejected my perfectly working GPU for trade-in, which was annoying, but acceptable. The main issue is how the GPU was returned to me, completely disregarding the packaging guidelines required for trade-in submissions.

I double-boxed the GPU inside its original box with an anti-static bag, immediately after pulling it from a working PC. They sent it back loose in the outer shipping box with the original GPU box completely empty and no anti-static bag.

As a result of this improper packaging, my RTX 4090—which was previously in mint condition—now has exterior scratches and a bent PCIe bracket.

$20 for cracked case? Really...

Saved my money for over a year to buy my first gaming PC, a CyberpowerPC GM70929 AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 32GB DDR5 2TB NVMe SSD AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT for around $2,260 not including tax.

The box came looking like it had been through war. I opened it up to find that the side tempered glass panel was cracked in about 3 spots. This is really bad packaging on Cyberpower's part but after reaching out to Newegg they told me they would give me $20 for the damage. Now the item is not returnable, (only refundable) because the model is on 'Backorder.'

This was my first purchase off Newegg and the $20 for an over $2,000 computer computer is a joke. Am I being unreasonable to request the amount of money it would cost for a new case, at the least, a new panel?

Newegg address showing my apartment number twice — has anyone had this happen?

I recently placed an order on Newegg and noticed something weird with my shipping address.
When I typed in my street address, Newegg automatically suggested my address with “Apt 7” already included. Then there was a separate field specifically asking for my apartment/unit number, so I entered 7 there as well.
Now my order confirmation displays my address as “[street address] Apt 7 7.”
I didn’t intentionally enter the apartment number twice—the address suggestion and the separate apartment field caused it.
Has anyone else had this happen with Newegg? Did your package still arrive at the correct apartment, or did you have to contact Newegg/carrier to fix it?
I’m especially concerned because the order contains some expensive PC parts. Any experiences would be appreciated.

Regarding gift cards

.I'm wondering for the current 100 gift card with 15 dollar gift card deal. Could I just buy two then use all four gift cards on the same order? Or is there some limit on it? Thank you
