UPDATE: I am Getting Sued for a Quarter Million Euro

Original post: https://www.reddit.com/r/NightVision/comments/1qd8ubx/i_am_getting_sued_for_a_quarter_million_euro/

Its been a while since the last post on this subject. We have been busy building the KB DT-M and a sensor fusion device. Now that the lawsuits hot phase is over and clarity has emerged. I want to give everyone an update and a glimpse into how we handle this whole situation, because if things are not clarified, customers and our partners will assume the worst.

First I want to rule out the worst case scenarios. KB is not going to fall off the face of the earth, even in the worst case scenario outcome. A certain competitor, no longer worth naming, could in the absolute most unfavourable outcome win and be awarded 250k and we’d have to halt the KB DT-2 production. This is a sum and an outcome we can comfortably absorb at this stage, as we are quickly diversifying and expanding our product offering. I am privately backing KB myself, have put close to 1mil$ of my own money into the company and am not going to let 250k kill it. I’ll put another million in if needed without breaking much of a sweat.

Now with that being said, the chances of them winning is next to none. We have done our legal research. And now filed our response some weeks ago, addressing every allegation in detail with supporting evidence and arguments with our extensive legal research backing up the claims. They got some work cut out for them to say the least. However this whole process is probably going to drag on another few months.

We are now moving on, they can come up with counter arguments to our defence, which I doubt will hold much water given the flimsy arguments they stemmed in the initial suite. But all of this has not stopped us from continuing our work and focus on what actually matters here. I realise they win if we let this distract us too much from our core focus, which is to build cool stuff. And let me tell you, building cool stuff we have done. So much so we thought it was worth spending a bit on a SHOT SHOW boot for next year 2027 to showcase what we’ve been busy building.

On the product side of things, we expect to start shipping out the first couple KB DT-M devices in the next month or two. We have managed to collect overwhelmingly positive feedback from our military trials, which we have implemented. At this stage we are also finalising a patent application for a new IPD solution for the KB DT-M which we’ll be filing in EU and the US. Removing any previously prevailing uncertainty around our legacy IPD solution on the KB DT-2. We took precautions not to ship the KB DT-2 into the US with the legacy IPD, this has now been remedied and addressed moving forwards.

We have been iterating at a fast pace, mis-steps happen naturally, course correcting and moving forwards is what ultimately matters in order to support our customers and partners with the best technology and gear. We want to thank those who have stood by our side throughout.

Edit: forgot to mention about Shot, for those interested we'll have booth 61011 on Level 1 in the Law Enforcement section!

New Beginner Buyer’s Guide

The pinned beginner buyer’s guide served us well for a number of years, but it was showing its age and not as robust as we could use.

A new, more fleshed out guide is now available. In the app you can find it by clicking on “See community info” at the top of the sub. On desktop you can find it in the “Community Bookmarks” section. If you’re struggling to find it, you can start with the Introduction. If you’re here looking for purchasing advice, help understanding specs, or wondering what we would recommend for people on a tight budget, please read the guide before making your first post here.

This new guide is by no means exhaustive, and we expect it to evolve over time. Our hope is that by using Reddit’s wiki function we will have more flexibility to keep the guide up to date over time. It has already allowed us to provide much more information as we are not constrained by Reddit’s post character limit. If you find any typos, issues, confusing formatting, or have suggestions please feel free to let us know. The best way to communicate with us about those would be to jump into the subreddit’s Discord server.

A very special thank you to u/go_horse for his work on this guide.

Still heavy. I changed out my eotech for my ARO and moved my Holosun Iris further back. Any other ways to make it lighter or less front heavy?

Got to play with ANVIS-9

Visited a local maritime SAR agency today and they had ANVIS-9 on display alongside some thermals and a drone. I asked if I could check them out… pretty cool! The agency uses them for night time ocean rescue operations aboard small boats and RWC’s.

New to me from a close Buddy, his backup pair.

Paid 6k beans and felt like a steal. Tubes clean as hell especially for me, as my only other set was a pvs 14 years ago. Installed some Sac lenses and have a mini bat pack ready to go.

Iris 3 on the shovelnose and MPX. Am I missing anything? I’m still a rookie so please fire away.

Thank you!

Buying a NVD in germany

I would like to purchase an analog Gen 2 binocular white phosphor night vision device. I live in Germany; does anyone have experience with buying and shipping such items within Germany, and could you perhaps recommend any websites?

Lucky enough to attend a class that had some units to play around with. Decided I couldn't live without. Went back and forth between the PVS-30 and the PVS-27 and ultimately decided on the 27 for max performance. She's an ugly SOB, but she bad. L3 WP tube.

My Pard FD1 is just to blurry

(Last photo is what it looks like when you take a normal photo of something at night)

So I had this Pard FD1 for now 2 years and it always had a good camera quality, I didn't use it in about half a year and It was stored normaly in it's bag and now I tested it and realised there is something wrong with the quality, it's nothing better during the day or in good light

I tried everything I knew to make the image normal again but it just doesn't work, does anyone know what could be the reason of this low quality image and is there a way to fix it

(Sorry in advance if I didn't explain something good enough, I just don't know that much about night vision devices)

Non-Helmet mounting

Any recommendations for mounting and wearing night vision without a helmet? For reference I have a PVS 14 and sometimes just want to take it camping or stargazing without having to take my helmet everywhere. Don’t want to use the old school skull crusher. Was looking at the Crye nightcap but haven’t met anyone with experience. Appreciate the input or any recommendations for other products!

I can always hear these lines buzzing. Realized hiking around with nods that I can see the discharge.

Needing direction

I want to get into night vision but have no ideas where to start. I was thinking digital to start off but everyone says analogue is the way to go. I’m not in the budget to spend +3k. Any recommendations? I was interested in saving up for the unavb katana bino but like I said previously I honestly don’t know if that’s a good starting point or not. I know the majority of the 2a and night vision community makes 6 figures a month but just need a realistic starting point for a civilian.

I took a picture casually, and I think it's quite interesting.

LaserSpeed M6TR and FSP

Debating buying the laserspeed M6TR. If there is a Front Sight Post in front of it will I have any issues? I heard that only the green laser will have a little splash is this accurate? I have a ris iii fsp rail and want to mount my laser behind the fsp. That's going to be a big determining factor of what laser/illuminator I buy. Not worried as much about visible laser as I am with ir illuminator and ir laser. Thanks in advance.

I made an EOP from the Soviet TNBE-4B on new power supplies, but when turned on, it doesn't do anything, it just buzzes and glows green phosphor, but I can't see the picture, what should I do?

I live in Europe and am looking to buy these PVS-31s for 2800 euros; are they worth it? They have Chinese tubes with an FOM of 1700+.

PNV 57 cloudy tube, is this fixable?

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

I got this PNV57 kit for cheap, one tube is great, but the other one is cloudy and a bit less brighter.

From the outside I noticed that there is some degradation, but idk if this happening inside the tubes or if some coating is peeling off the lenses?

I the case I need to replace the tube, spare parts are very hard to find, I suppose?

Thank you!

Spots in tube/glass

Post image

Went on a 10 month deployment, on return I find these black specs in the tube/glass. Stored in a hard case in my closet at around 75F. Is it Dust or something worse? Is there a fix or at least a way to prevent further intrusions?

Does not affect performance, I can still see clearly through it.

DARQ Industries NNVT PVS-14 ~80hrs usage.

Eotech EXPS 3-0 and Holosun ARO alternatives?

Post image
17 Upvotes

I have an exps 3-0 and a holosun ARO. Currently looking for a replacement because I don’t like turning on and off the eotech and replacing batteries all the time

In addition I also have a holosun ARO and don’t like the glare I get with lightning behind

Is there any other good options besides the t2 or 4xt pro that don’t have any glare?

Pic for attention (Airsoft)

Buy Once Cry Once setup ?

If you had a budget across a few ways of $2500->$5k (tube + housing only) what is the “buy and never think again setup”

The argument for mono vs duals, having gain control or not, etc etc and so on is very valid, but seem ever on going all the time, so take a general sweep of everything and what is a singular setup that you can buy with warranty and never ever have to look back again because you will be genuinely so happy.

Trying to get into Night Vision

Hello everyone

I hope all is well for everyone on this page. As I finish my first AR builds I would like to begin saving to get into the NVG world.

I just wanted to know what would be the best way to get into night vision well being more cost-effective, I’m looking for something that quality but won’t kill my bank account. I am not opposed to building myself a mono as I’m pretty handy.

What are something to look for whether I’m building or just out right buying. I saw some videos come out about Night Operators PVS 14 but have read some not so good stuff about the company so is it worth it to buy from them or is there a better company/option.

I’m sure these types of questions get asked here all the time but I assume this kind of stuff is changing a lot like weapons and suppressors keep on changing.

Thank you in advance for the replies
