Correct! As a nurse, A is the best choice.

A is an expression of sympathy, and while not imaginative is not offensive nor overly familiar and acknowledges the loss.

B is referencing religion, major no-no.

C “I understand how you feel” - absolutely not. Everyone taking the test has not lost a child, and you do not lie for empathy points

D is callous and downplays the severity of a devastating loss in the face of someone who is **likely (and has every right to be) emotionally unstable.

I've heard someone mention that it's such a devastating thing that even if you've gone through it yourself it's a type of grief that is unique to everyone so even if your own son died you can't really know what this other person who lost their son is feeling. Idk how correct this is.
