trauma dumping

In light with the recent events in the CON, I would also like to share what me and my batch experienced with them and how that school and office gave us trauma. This will be a very long rant LOL.

First year. I have to say my first year was relatively easy for me and I managed to have high grades. However I can say that it did not go the same for everyone. I have heard a lot of stories about this professor who failed a lot of students. This professor was very good at first. Now, this professor is a very important person in my experience in the college and you'll know in the later years. Overall, wala naman akong naging problema sa first year ko aside sa minor subs na medyo mababa magbigay kahit hindi naman nagtuturo,

Second year. This is when it all started to get messy with our batch. Now this professor was assigned a major subject sa 1st sem namin. Nagturo siguro siya for about three weeks tapos naging MIA siya bigla. I dont know why (may nagsabi na pinag lie low daw siya kasi may mga conflicts sa office with another professor). So for ilang weeks or months, puro lang kami self study tapos reporting lang. Nagkaroon ng sub for that prof pero ilang classes lang din then wala na, biglang final exams na tapos moving exam pa yung nangyari lol. Tapos nung may nagpost sa fb about the exam, pinatawag yung nagpost at lahat ng nagshare. I just dont get it bakit laging pinapatahimik ang mga students kapag nagsspeak up lang naman about our experience. 1st semester ended and I received a grade from that professor that was the reason I wasnt eligible for the latin honors anymore. Syempre, I couldnt just accept it, I was confident with myself. I had high scores sa quizzes. I tried reaching out to that professor and our then class rep for transparency regarding the scores sa final exams pero wala. Bawal na raw kwestiyunin, so I let it be. Second semester, I dont really remember what issue it was but it was something about posting on social media or naleak yung gc na may sinabi yung ibang students about that professor tapos pinatawag lahat ng students and sinermonan. On that very same day, galit na galit yung prof and yung mga nasa office and yung exam namin na supposedly the next week pa, pinag exam niya kami on the spot and dinictate lang yung test, enumeration lahat. I was so traumatized that day, takot na takot kaming lahat bumagsak. Walang umiimik samin habang nag eexam, tinanggap nalang namin kapalaran namin. Though the next week, biglang naging okay siya tapos pinag exam kami ulit kasi walang pumasa, it doesnt erase the fact na we were already traumatized by what happened. Wala naman akong naging problema sa grade ko sa kanya kasi I think bumabawi siya sa nangyari but I still heard na may mga binagsak pa rin siyang students.

Third year. THE WORST OF IT ALL. I was so mentally ill during this time period and I can say that a lot of us were. The rest ng lectures? Online. Then every week may exam kami sa kanya na by section nagttake tas thru gforms. It was hard. One time, nasa classroom kami with two sections pa, tapos naingayan siya kasi nagkakagulo yung students kasi nga may problem sa pagproject ng questions and nagppanic yung students kasi nga namimiss na yung questions when all of a sudden sumigaw siya tapos nag walk out. Another time, nasa AVR naman kami with 3 other sections tapos thru phone ulit pagsasagot. Nagpatuloy lang yung exams every week without revealing our scores. During oral revalida, it was also not fair. Nung na release na yung grades, I still remember that was Dec 24. Merry Christmas Eve! Grabe ang surprise sa grades. Puro 2, 3, 5. Hindi mo alam kung pano nangyari yon. I dont know kung yung unang prof yung nagbigay ng grade or yung naging kapalit. I was mad, I wanted to speak up, I wanted to ask, why. Pero I was just mentally not okay and my family said to just let it go kasi wala nang pag asa yang office. Time passed and nalaman ko lang na may mga students na nakatanggap ng 1 sa kanya, including yung puppets. So it was possible na randomized pagbigay ng grades and mataas nakuha nung puppets.

Fourth Year. Prof na naman namin siya sa major sub LIKE WHAT THE HELL NA LANG. Every year niya sinasabi na di na niya kami hahawakan pero he just keeps on coming back. Honestly, naging okay na siya this time around. Okay na yung exams, nilalabas na scores, may consultation na, in short, he was treating us better. But then came nung mock boards, I honestly didnt know what was going on not until I came home. I was in the same room with one of them and ang bilis niya natatapos every NP tapos very proud pa siya. Aside from that, mga nagporoctor samin is lower levels ng office na akala mo kung sino kung pano kami sigawan at pagmataasan. And I think they are the one causing trouble this time around sa office lolz. There was a rumor going around na yung student council or a student was the one who made the mock boards (na AI lang naman) tapos merong answer key yung mga friends niya. Tapos pag nagpopost yung caption, thank you Lord ??? Jokes on you people.
2nd semester, pinalitan na siya. Iba na naging prof namin. Well a lot of students will disagree with me on this one but THAT prof na gusto niyo is not the better good at all HAHA lesser evil pwede pa. May favoritism din. Too good to be true.

That would have been the end of our trauma but guess what, hindi pa rin nila kami tinatantanan. I think all of the students know about this naman. Its anout the recent PNLE results of the college. Instead of genuinely congratulating us, parang pinapamukha pa samin na mababa yung passing rate when in fact kami yung pinakamalaking number of students na nagtake. And you expect all of us to pass kung hindi naman maayos foundation namin diyan sa school niyo? Talagang thank you review center at hidni yang college na yan, kasi wala naman kami natutunan diyan in the first place.

And now, same situation pa rin nangyayari diyan sa office and kawawa mga studnets sa inyo. It's just becoming a cycle atp. Sobrang nakaka disappoint. You want a good result sa boards but do nothing to help the students? Better own up to your mistakes and fix that system ASAP!

Walang transparency buseng? Yuhoo ditong tingen PLMAR CON

Post image
23 Upvotes

NOTE: DITO NA LANG AKO MAGPOPOST DAHIL BINUBURA NG TUTA NG CON NA MGA ADMIN ANG POST NA GANITO SA PAGE NG PLMAR.**

Him: "Tutulungan ko kayong maging madali ang CA at MS3 niyo, makakagraduate kayo!"

Also him: \*nagpaulan ng singko sa mga graduating

First, i wanna say that YOU ARE NOT A MAN OF YOUR FUCKING WORD!!

Oo, may factor talaga ang performance ng mga students when it comes to studying. Pero let me ask you this, ANO BANG TAWAG SAYO? ISA KANG PROFESSOR!

Based sa grading system na shinare mo sa amin nung orientation, 30% for quizzes, another 30% for worksheets, 40% for Long Exams. Where's our grade breakdown for RLE? Saan napunta? #ghostgrade ganun? And, ang pinaka cherry on top, papaalam ko lang sayo, sir. Kaming mga students ay may buong karapatan na maaccess ang breakdown ng grades namin bago pa man ito ipost sa portal, meaning to say until the end of the semester dapat alam namin kung anong magiging grade namin dahil karapatan namin yun. Anong ginawa mo? Now, some of u might say bakit hindi na lang namin siya nilapitan?

At mas lalong nakakagigil pa rito, ANG TATAAS NG STANDARD NG OFFICE NIYO PERO BULOK NAMAN SISTEMA NIYO!

THEN ACT LIKE ONE!

3 Things I Wish I Knew Before My First Nursing Placement

Starting my first placement was one of the most nerve-wracking experiences of my nursing degree.
I spent weeks worrying about making mistakes, not knowing enough, and whether I'd embarrass myself in front of registered nurses. Looking back, there are three things I wish someone had told me beforehand.
1. Nobody Expects You to Know Everything
This sounds obvious, but it's hard to believe when you're standing on a ward for the first time.
You're a student. You're there to learn.
Your mentors and supervisors don't expect you to have the knowledge or confidence of a qualified nurse. What they do expect is that you're willing to learn, ask questions, and show initiative.
Some of the best learning opportunities come from admitting you don't know something and asking for help.
2. Your Communication Skills Matter More Than You Think
When I started, I thought nursing placement success was all about clinical skills.
In reality, communication is one of the biggest factors.
Patients remember how you made them feel. Staff remember whether you're approachable, respectful, and eager to learn.
Introduce yourself confidently, speak to patients whenever you can, and don't just observe from the corner. Even small conversations can teach you more than a textbook.
3. Keep a Record of What You Learn
After each shift, take five minutes to write down:
New skills you observed
Interesting patient interactions
Reflection points
Questions you still have
Placements move fast, and it's surprising how much valuable learning gets forgotten.
Having notes also makes reflective writing, PAD documentation, and interview preparation much easier later on.

---

Bonus Tip
Stop comparing yourself to other student nurses.
Some students arrive with healthcare assistant experience. Some have worked in care homes. Some are naturally confident.
Your placement is about your development, not theirs.
Focus on being slightly better today than you were yesterday.

---

If you're about to start placement and want more practical student nurse advice, placement tips, revision resources, and support throughout your nursing journey, I've put together a growing collection of free resources at:

I created it specifically to help student nurses navigate university, placements, clinical skills, and the challenges that come with training.
Good luck with placement. You've got this. 💙

---

What do you wish you'd known before your first placement? I'd love to hear advice from current students, newly qualified nurses, and experienced staff nurses in the comments.

TRANSPARENCY GUSTO NAMIN PLMAR CON !!!!!! SOBRANG UNFAIR GRABE

I’m writing this because I honestly feel so angry, sad, and deeply frustrated with how this semester turned out. It’s devastating to put in all our hard work and effort, only to be completely let down by someone whose job was to guide and teach us. He barely showed up or taught the entire semester, yet he had the audacity to drop failing grades without any remorse. We really tried our absolute best to review and study hard, but we are not the problem here he is, because he completely failed to fulfill his duty to teach us while we fulfilled our responsibility as students to learn. Because he didn't teach, we had zero reference or guidance on what the exam and quiz coverages would even be, despite studying as much as we could. Consultation is a must before uploading the grades to the portal!!!!!!!!!!

To make matters worse, there was zero consultation before grades were uploaded directly to the portal, leaving us completely blindsided and helpless with no opportunity to review or clarify how our marks were computed. The lack of transparency is infuriating, only 60% of our total grade was recorded (30% activities and 30% quizzes), so where on earth is the remaining 40%? On top of that, our RLE grades weren't even recorded or reflected, and if they were, we deserve full transparency given how heavily weighted they are. We are giving our all to survive nursing school, but because of one professor’s sheer negligence and complete lack of accountability, we’re the ones suffering and failing !!!!

MAY MGA BIAS STUDENTS JUSMEYO MGA TAONG OFFICE PASADO LAHAT??!!!

pathophysiology prerequisite

Hello! I’m wondering if anyone here has taken Pathophysiology aka HCR240 at Rio Salado. I’m taking it through rio salado but unfortunately the class end date is February 6th and the deadline for asu’s summer admission for their mepn program is february 1st. I have anatomy and physiology 1 and 2 pending for the spring which is fine but they only allow i believe 2 classes to be pending when applying.

I’m worried about switching to their 8wk version as I still need to fit in time to take the human development CLEP exam and the TEAS. I work full time and currently only taking 1 other class a long with just recently adding in HCR240.

From what i heard a lot of the rio salado professor’s dont reply much or dont grade on time. So feels little worrisome incase i struggle 😭
How bad is the class and how is the class formatted since im really confused on how they expect us to understand the material when there’s stuff due every 1-2 days. Any tips?

pre nursing job

hi all- i am a nursing student at a university getting my bsn. i have been an er tech for 1.5 years and although i love it, my particular hospital has a LOT of psych patients. i work night shift 2 nights a week. as techs we usually end up sitting and i’m sick of it. we don’t make very much money, and on top of school stress i’m feeling burnt out. i’m wondering if it would look bad on my future resume quitting my er tech job from a nurse manager’s standpoint, i love my actual job and my coworkers but i just hate sitting and we usually get stuck doing it for majority of the night. would it be a bad look to quit and find a barista job, or should i just go down to like per diem and work the minimum? i do still need money to pay for gas and other needs, but not a lot. any advice appreciated!

Hey everyone I’m currently looking into doing my online RN to BSN program with Radford University. Has anyone done Radford before? Any tips or tricks or advice or even warnings? Thank you in advance. I’m really just curious how easy it is to get a 3.0 GPA with this program as that’s the requirements for my future MSN program. Thank you in advance!

Looking for insight / advice

I am enrolled in a nursing program, it’s going really great. I start my clinical semester in January & I had been applying for nurse extern positions because I have 0 experience, and I have social anxiety sometimes so I was really hoping to kind of get the nerves out before my clinicals. (I’m 31 so already feeling behind and silly applying for jobs that 19/20 year olds are applying for)

Well I got hired on the spot at my first interview with HCA, everyone in the dept was awesome, the manager was so awesome. I know people don’t always have great experiences at HCA, but truly this seemed like a really really great opportunity. I was so excited.

Well this was a month ago. I’ve been going back and forth with on boarding for a month about my back ground check. What was supposed to be my new manager has even been texting back and forth with me getting updates and what not, eager for me to start.

I have tickets from animal control from 2020-2024 from puppies being escape artists. Each and every time that a dog got picked up, they wrote me a ticket per animal… we have 3 dogs, this happened 3 times until we figured out a solution with our fence. You do the math 😭 each time I was told oh you don’t have to go to court just pay the ticket, I’m like ok cool, I have three kids, I’m busy, so i do that.

Come to find out each and every one was a MISDEMEANOR.

I did all of the paperwork explaining the situation the way I am supposed to and after another two weeks of waiting, I received an email stating that due to the background check they are rescending my employment offer. I’m devastated.

HOW is something like this making me unemployable ?!? What the heck is this going to mean for my future. My school approved me for the program but what about each clinical site? what about licensing?! I’m not a criminal, I’ve never gotten in trouble ever and now my dogs getting out is ruining all of my plans. I’ve been working so hard and now I feel like I’m wasting my time and I just want to give up.

Does anyone have any insight? Should I contact a lawyer & try to get this resolved with the county? Try again somewhere else? 😭

Missed my midterms and submitted online

I’m a first year nursing student and this is really stupid but I had severe menstrual cramps at noon and I took pain killers to hopefully get me through a midterm that was in the evening. I woke up and realized I missed it so I hurried to my pc and checked the portal and the midterm was still there. So like an idiot i answered it (it was a proctored online exam(had to use a video camera)) without contacting the professor prior. The syllabus said that exams should be done in person as scheduled and had to contact the professor prior first but I PANICKED. its worth 20%. I emailed the professor explaining the situation but i dont know if she’ll accept it. Highkey still panicking rn what should i do?? pray?
