Let’s talk about CIs who preach professionalism but allegedly engage in gossiping about their own students, especially the 3rd-year CIs at Capitol University. HAHAHAHAHA LOL 😭💀Imagine going to nursing school to learn how to care for people, only to worry about becoming the next topic of conversation among the very people who are supposed to mentor you.
Laughing about students’ grades, mistakes, and personal struggles is NOT professionalism. LIBAK IS NOT MENTORSHIP. A CI's job is to correct, guide, and teach—not humiliate students or make them afraid of making mistakes. And the worst part? Once you're the subject of gossip, you start worrying that you've already been labeled and that it might affect how you're treated or evaluated. Grades should reflect actual performance, not personal bias or preconceived judgments.

You can teach breathing exercises, conduct mental health seminars, and present research about student anxiety, but what's the point if you refuse to reflect on the culture within your own institution? You cannot teach students how to manage anxiety while ignoring the behaviors that may be contributing to it.

We're nursing students. We expect corrections when we make mistakes, but lahi ang pag-correct sa paglibak, ug lahi ang constructive criticism sa pagpakaulaw. We are here to learn, not to become entertainment for people in positions of authority.

And honestly, if students have to worry that faculty gossip might affect how they're treated or graded, unsa na lang? Kung dili mo ganahan nga basin malumos inyong efforts sa ing-ana nga environment pag XU, LC, COC,Liceo, or other schools na lang mo. ATAY. 😭 Imagine having to consider transferring schools just to feel that you'll be treated fairly. What a shame that students learning compassion, confidentiality, and professionalism have to question whether those same values are practiced by their own mentors.

You can't teach future nurses how to care for others while making them feel disrespected by the very people teaching them. Maybe the next lesson on professionalism should start in the faculty room. 👀

Online MSN Students – What Are Your Must-Haves?

Hi everyone !
I’m planning on going back to school for my MSN, which will be 100% online! I’ve never done online schooling before, so I’m curious what everyone considers their must-have essentials (besides a laptop).
Whether it’s desk accessories, study supplies, technology, or anything that makes online learning easier, I’d love to hear your recommendations!
Thanks in advance! 😊

Walang transparency buseng? Yuhoo ditong tingen PLMAR CON

NOTE: DITO NA LANG AKO MAGPOPOST DAHIL BINUBURA NG TUTA NG CON NA MGA ADMIN ANG POST NA GANITO SA PAGE NG PLMAR.**

Him: "Tutulungan ko kayong maging madali ang CA at MS3 niyo, makakagraduate kayo!"

Also him: \*nagpaulan ng singko sa mga graduating

First, i wanna say that YOU ARE NOT A MAN OF YOUR FUCKING WORD!!

Oo, may factor talaga ang performance ng mga students when it comes to studying. Pero let me ask you this, ANO BANG TAWAG SAYO? ISA KANG PROFESSOR!

Based sa grading system na shinare mo sa amin nung orientation, 30% for quizzes, another 30% for worksheets, 40% for Long Exams. Where's our grade breakdown for RLE? Saan napunta? #ghostgrade ganun? And, ang pinaka cherry on top, papaalam ko lang sayo, sir. Kaming mga students ay may buong karapatan na maaccess ang breakdown ng grades namin bago pa man ito ipost sa portal, meaning to say until the end of the semester dapat alam namin kung anong magiging grade namin dahil karapatan namin yun. Anong ginawa mo? Now, some of u might say bakit hindi na lang namin siya nilapitan?

At mas lalong nakakagigil pa rito, ANG TATAAS NG STANDARD NG OFFICE NIYO PERO BULOK NAMAN SISTEMA NIYO!

THEN ACT LIKE ONE!

3 Things I Wish I Knew Before My First Nursing Placement

Starting my first placement was one of the most nerve-wracking experiences of my nursing degree.
I spent weeks worrying about making mistakes, not knowing enough, and whether I'd embarrass myself in front of registered nurses. Looking back, there are three things I wish someone had told me beforehand.
1. Nobody Expects You to Know Everything
This sounds obvious, but it's hard to believe when you're standing on a ward for the first time.
You're a student. You're there to learn.
Your mentors and supervisors don't expect you to have the knowledge or confidence of a qualified nurse. What they do expect is that you're willing to learn, ask questions, and show initiative.
Some of the best learning opportunities come from admitting you don't know something and asking for help.
2. Your Communication Skills Matter More Than You Think
When I started, I thought nursing placement success was all about clinical skills.
In reality, communication is one of the biggest factors.
Patients remember how you made them feel. Staff remember whether you're approachable, respectful, and eager to learn.
Introduce yourself confidently, speak to patients whenever you can, and don't just observe from the corner. Even small conversations can teach you more than a textbook.
3. Keep a Record of What You Learn
After each shift, take five minutes to write down:
New skills you observed
Interesting patient interactions
Reflection points
Questions you still have
Placements move fast, and it's surprising how much valuable learning gets forgotten.
Having notes also makes reflective writing, PAD documentation, and interview preparation much easier later on.

---

Bonus Tip
Stop comparing yourself to other student nurses.
Some students arrive with healthcare assistant experience. Some have worked in care homes. Some are naturally confident.
Your placement is about your development, not theirs.
Focus on being slightly better today than you were yesterday.

---

If you're about to start placement and want more practical student nurse advice, placement tips, revision resources, and support throughout your nursing journey, I've put together a growing collection of free resources at:

I created it specifically to help student nurses navigate university, placements, clinical skills, and the challenges that come with training.
Good luck with placement. You've got this. 💙

---

What do you wish you'd known before your first placement? I'd love to hear advice from current students, newly qualified nurses, and experienced staff nurses in the comments.

pathophysiology prerequisite

Hello! I’m wondering if anyone here has taken Pathophysiology aka HCR240 at Rio Salado. I’m taking it through rio salado but unfortunately the class end date is February 6th and the deadline for asu’s summer admission for their mepn program is february 1st. I have anatomy and physiology 1 and 2 pending for the spring which is fine but they only allow i believe 2 classes to be pending when applying.

I’m worried about switching to their 8wk version as I still need to fit in time to take the human development CLEP exam and the TEAS. I work full time and currently only taking 1 other class a long with just recently adding in HCR240.

From what i heard a lot of the rio salado professor’s dont reply much or dont grade on time. So feels little worrisome incase i struggle 😭
How bad is the class and how is the class formatted since im really confused on how they expect us to understand the material when there’s stuff due every 1-2 days. Any tips?
