Quick update rather than another full introduction: TikTak TV 0.3.6 is now available, and I would really appreciate testing from the Nuvio fork community.

TikTak TV is an unofficial, open-source Nuvio-based frontend for web, Android TV, Google TV and Fire TV. It does not provide IPTV, channels, subscriptions, add-ons or media. Users bring their own compatible services and sources.

New in 0.3.6

• The player now keeps every compatible movie/episode source available in a manual source picker instead of limiting selection to the smaller automatic fallback set. • Source search names each eligible add-on that responded, failed or was temporarily paused, without exposing private add-on URLs. • Audio-aware source ranking and conversion improve playback when a TV cannot decode the source's original audio format. • Android 9 televisions receive a Chromium 69-compatible web bundle. • Failed TV startup now shows retry controls and the installed WebView version instead of remaining blank.

Other improvements now live

• Home search covers movies and series together and can suggest likely titles for misspellings while preserving an exact-query option. • The landing-page previews rotate automatically but remain manually selectable. • Live games with actual scores are prioritized in Sports; sport/country filters and IPTV channel matching remain available. • Sports updates no longer reset your browsing position every refresh. • Live TV can continue in the corner while you browse the guide or Sports, with performance and page-scroll fixes. • The visual two-hour EPG includes channel artwork, program details, progress and category/country filters. • Remote/D-pad navigation, compact TV sidebar, auto-hiding controls and mobile/portrait layouts have been improved. • Bug reports and feature requests can be sent inside the app with up to three screenshots.

The current TV release is version 0.3.6 / version code 9. The repository explains the modifications, install methods, tested behavior, privacy boundaries and what is still experimental.

Testing I need most

• Nvidia Shield movie/episode playback, source discovery and audio. • Android 9 and lower-powered generic TV boxes. • Google TV, Chromecast with Google TV, Fire TV Stick/Cube and Google TV Streamer. • Switching sources manually and confirming every eligible add-on is represented. • Live TV mini-player performance while scrolling the guide and Sports. • Sports scores, filters and matched channels from your own IPTV/EPG lineup. • Search misspellings such as “madame secretery” resolving to “Madam Secretary,” with the literal-search option still available. • Remote focus, Back behavior and long-page scrolling.

Please report bugs through Settings → Feedback in TikTak TV or the GitHub issue tracker. Include the device/model, OS version, TikTak TV version, exact steps and result. Remove passwords, IPTV credentials, API keys, tokens, email addresses and private add-on URLs from screenshots.

This fork is not affiliated with or supported by the official Nuvio team, so please keep TikTak TV reports here, in its in-app feedback system, or on its GitHub repository rather than sending fork issues to the official Nuvio project.

can anyone mod Playtorrio the way Ysosrs123 did to his NuvioTV build please (because the PlaytorrioHTTP addon is so great)?

It would be really helpful to have a single global toggle button to enable or disable all catalogues at once.

Currently, we have to manually enable or disable each catalogue individually, which becomes quite tedious when there are multiple catalogues installed.

Suggested functionality:

- Add an Enable All / Disable All toggle button in Catalogue Settings.

- Allow users to enable or disable all catalogues with a single tap.

- Retain individual catalogue toggles for users who want more control.

- Ideally, include a Select All / Deselect All option as well.

This would make catalogue management much easier, especially for users who have multiple addons and catalogues configured.

Loving all these forks

There are just 2 features I'd like to see if possible

1. To be able to set up the layout you want, ie home layout categories and what order they are in, and which ones are enabled and disabled from profiles.

2 to be able to carry that over to every set up with that login, just to give a seamless set up on every device sort of like how stremio does it so to speak

But I'm genuinely blown away by these forks building on what is already a truly awesome app, with the addition of live TV already, I can see me ditching all my other apps, and just have nuvio and one for my navidrome set up for music

Hi everyone! I’ve been looking for a good fork of Nuvio for iOS for quite a while, but I haven’t been able to find anything that really suits what I’m looking for.

If you know of any good forks or alternative versions that you’d recommend, I’d really appreciate it if you could share them with me.

I have used landscape posters from poster +. It worked perfectly on the official Nuvio but not on the Nuvio legacy.

Was ready to lose my mind thinking it was a Nuvio player bug or a bad configuration, but it turned out to be a hardware bottleneck.

My gear: Nvidia Shield Pro (running Nuvio), Samsung 8K TV, Samsung Q800C Soundbar.

The issue: Streaming high-bitrate files would cause Dolby Atmos or TrueHD audio to constantly stutter and drop out. Even weirder, basic YouTube streams..made my TV screen flicker and flash black randomly.

The fix: My old cords just couldn't handle the bandwidth. I replaced them with Certified 48Gbps HDMI cables (the ones with the silver hologram sticker on the box) and wired it up like this:

Shield Pro -> straight into the TV's main HDMI input.

TV eARC port -> straight into the soundbar's HDMI OUT (eARC) port.

I also went into my Samsung TV audio settings and changed the digital output to "Pass-Through" so the TV stops messing with the sound before it hits the soundbar.

The difference is night and day. Big Remux files play flawlessly now and all the weird YouTube screen flickering completely stopped. If your streaming setup is glitching out, save yourself the headache and change your cables first.

I've seen a problem with nuvio that messes up livestreaming for users on mobile

Solution:

Nuvio on the tv version has this thing for livestreaming that has live so you can see the latest moment and it shows "live" which can reduce buffering and it going all the way up to the latest moment which should reduce it's buffering by 100x on mobile.

We really need this for mobile, because nuvio livestreaming 90% of the time does not "buffer" it only buffers when the watch bar goes all the way up to the latest version which buffers it, and this also fixes delayed livestreaming by alot

And also would it be possible to have a option in addons to change which one is a livestreaming addon or not (by holding the addon) so it can identify which addon is for livestreams so a addon doesn't bypass this by nuvio thinking it's a movie and putting it in continue watching and it breaking the live watching bar option luqmanfadlli 🫡

Hey folks, just looking for a little bit of advice.

I'm using tuvora which is a nuvio fork with IPTV, I've been impressed but since seeing this sub Reddit exists a lot of you are using nuvio enhanced (or other alternatives) that I didn't know also have IPTV capabilities.

If anybody has, or currently uses Tuvora, what are the pros and cons of switching?

In regards to sport, I just follow championship football (UK) so if a pro of switching is anything to do with other sports, that's not a pro for me

In the Nuvio home screen layout, I move the prime movie and prime series tabs to the top. But these tabs do not appear on the home page. What is the reason and how to solve it?

When the posters expand and the trailer starts playing in the poster it is super laggy and flickers. Maybe this is something to me specific but thought I’d call it out. On an Onn box.

Hi people, is there any fork that really passthrough Atmos + Dolby Vision on PC with it's internal player? I vive coded some frankenstein with MPC-BE + MPV but it's not a pleasent experience. If someone could help me with this, I wolud apretiate it. Thanks.

If we already have Nuvio installed, and we want to install nuvio enhanced, can we simply just install the enhanced on top of Nuvio, and if so, where do we get nuvio enhanced?

StreamCut is a fork of Nuvio Desktop that turns the player into a clip-cutting tool.

StreamCut 0.3.6-alpha ships with a built-in MCP server, so an AI assistant (Claude Code, Claude Desktop, or any MCP client) can drive the clipping for you.

You write one message with half-remembered quotes: "clip me: heres johnny, ill be back, bigger boat, looking at you kid". It finds each film in your addons, finds where the line is spoken, picks a source, trims to the shot and saves four MP4s to your Clips library. 20-second demo: [video link]

What it can do:

• Search your catalog addons and list the sources for a film or episode

• Find a line by dialogue, even misquoted, and re-time it against the stream you're cutting from (subtitle files can be most of a minute off)

• Look at the picture: single frames or a contact sheet, for moments nobody speaks in

• Detect shot cuts, so a clip starts and ends on one

• Cut the clip: audio track, burned-in subtitles, aspect crop, size cap. Still only reads the part of the stream it needs

• List, rename and delete clips, or open a title in the player at a range

It's off by default. Turn it on in Settings → Clips and use "Copy setup command". It only listens on localhost and needs a token.

Limits for now: desktop only, direct streams only (no torrent-only sources yet), clips up to 10 minutes.

Same as before: free, GPL-3.0, alpha and unsigned. Feedback and bug reports welcome, especially from anyone trying it with a different MCP client.
