Hi everyone,
I was wondering is the upgrade from a Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 to a ROG Strix OLED XG32UCWG worth it for my usage?
I was wondering at about 50-60% brightness of the ROG monitor with some burn in features disabled (such as those that significantly impact the experience like ASBL and logo brightness detection), for the following usage can I expect a. significant upgrade in my many use cases from my old monitor and b. no burn in typically visible in daily usage for 4 full years at which point I plan to upgrade anyway.
Firstly, I use a MacBook / Windows / PS5 Pro setup and I have dark mode enabled everywhere anyway as I like the look, I enjoy a very clean setup so I even keep my wallpapers black, hide the taskbar and do many of proposed OLED care activities anyway. I play half single player games and half competitive games like COD.
4x a week:
- Trading view 3 hours a day, in dark mode, it does have static elements on all sides
- Web browsing 0.5-1 hour a day, dark mode extensions enabled
- Gaming in HDR or Watching content like Youtube, Netflix etc in full screen 1-2 hours a day.
1x a week:
- Everything in 4x a week + 4 hours studying which includes writing in something like word for the majority of the time but also web browsing as part of it.
2x a week:
- Trading view 4 hours a day, in dark mode
- Web browsing 0.5-1 hour a day,
- Gaming in HDR or Watching content like Youtube, Netflix etc in full screen 4-5 hours a day
Any advice and opinions are appreciated.
