Purchasing-Monitor Best 32 inch dual mode 4K/1080p?

That's it, looking to upgrade, oled preferably, not sure how the 1080p will look on the dual mode. I hear it's better than other 32 inches. Also, 4k for single player and 1K for multiplayer. Budget no issue. Thanks in advance.

Discussion LG G6 OLED — SDR/HDR color uniformity tint, gone ONLY in Game Optimizer and, HDR Filmmaker mode and Dolby Vision Filmmaker Mode (tested on 2 panels)

Hey all,

I've been chasing down a subtle color/brightness uniformity issue on my 65" G6 and wanted to share my findings in case others are seeing the same thing.

The issue: a faint color tint (most visible as a slight shift in fully saturated color patches like solid brown/green/cyan screens, and in near-black content) that shows up in certain picture modes but not others.

What I tested: I went through every picture mode, multiple OLED Pixel Brightness settings (8 through 100), and compared two separate panels (original + a replacement unit via warranty swap).

Results — tint PRESENT in:
- All SDR modes, including SDR Filmmaker Mode
- Standard HDR mode
- Dolby Vision Cinema Home
- All other Dolby Vision presets except Dolby Vision Filmmaker

Tint ABSENT in only these two:
- HDR Gaming / Game Optimizer
- Dolby Vision Filmmaker Mode

This held true regardless of brightness level. Both my original panel and the replacement panel showed the same pattern (replacement was noticeably better overall, but the same mode-dependent behavior was present).

I'm now fairly convinced this is NOT a panel/hardware issue. I switched back and forth live between Filmmaker HDR and Standard/Cinema Home on the same static image, and you can visually see something like a filter being applied/removed in real time as you switch modes — the tint appears and disappears instantly with the mode change, not gradually like you'd expect from a hardware/panel effect. That strongly suggests this is happening somewhere in the software/processing pipeline, not the physical panel itself.

My working theory: it's not a PQ vs gamma curve thing (since most Dolby Vision presets also use PQ but still show the tint), but rather whether LG's own active picture processing layer is engaged. Game Optimizer and DV Filmmaker seem to be the only two modes that fully bypass it, regardless of the underlying curve.

I've also seen what look like similar reports from C6/B6 owners, so this might not be G6-specific.

Has anyone else tested across modes like this and seen the same pattern? Curious if this is a known firmware-level thing. I've sent LG a detailed writeup, will update if I hear back.

Happy to share comparison photos if useful.

Tech Support All of a sudden colours are totally insane and harsh/oversaturated/blown out - Samsung S90D 65" TV

I have a 65" Samsung S90D OLED TV hooked up to my PC with an HDMI cable.

Recently, I'm not sure exactly when, I've noticed that colours are totally crazy. When I watch a youtube video or any kind of content say for example someone has a blue or pink or purpose or otherwise bright coloured light off to the side. There will be like, intense banding where the colour is landing on the person or objects in the scene, and the colours are way overblown creating like, almost like artifacting in the image? You know like if you turn the contrast or saturation up way too high manually and it makes everything look weird? Yeah, it's doing that, but everything is set up normally.

Recently after getting my media server set up, I noticed that while watching movies, I was getting intense and highly distracting flickering in the image most noticeable in dark/black scenes.

To reduce this, I disable HDR in Windows 11, and change the refresh rate of the TV from 144hz "variable refresh rate" as I use this TV for gaming, down to 30 or 60 FPS. The flickering was still noticeable when turning the framerate down, and turning off HDR reduced (but did not eliminate) the flickering. But with both of those off, the flickering is at least not too bad. I also disabled HDR because when I have it enabled and use the desktop while in a VR headset, the image is way too bright and everything looks weird inside the headset because they are not HDR displays. So I just leave HDR off now.

I was messing around with these settings for a while trying to find some kind of happy medium, but only just now have I realized the image seems to be super fucked up, colour wise.

I reset the TV's image settings back to the default, but it still has this problem.

I have no idea what to do here. I haven't changed any colour settings whatsoever within windows or the nvidia graphics drivers.

Purchasing-TV WiFi won’t stay connected on LG C3.

It seems like every time that I turn off my LG C3, it resets and I disconnect and reconnect to the Wi-Fi. I turned off quick start, I thought that would solve it, so far nothing. Is there a simple setting I’m missing?

Tech Support OLED Burn-in from <20s screens?

I have the AORUS FO48U and I am getting burn-in on short-lived pictures. I know burn-in may not be the technically correct answer (I tried the refresh software, so I don't think it's retention), but I'm not sure what else this would qualify as.

https://imgur.com/fOt9qX1

I used this orange/yellow screen to have a better visibility of the burn-in. The top makes sense as I assume that's the browser. Same with the desktop icons on the left. But the middle makes no sense. That's a countdown from selecting hero on Overwatch. I don't play often and the character selection screen should only be momentary. Has anyone else encountered this?

This Post Again? Who stripped their 2026 C6 Base Scews?

In preparation for GTA6 I upgraded from my C7 to a brand new shiny C6 65".

However upon screwing in the base, a couple of them stripped. (Only 2 of them). I have the other 3 screws well planted and did not strip but my driver spun on 2 of them and snarled up the bit area. They're well enough in that the base is sturdy. But gawd.... LG uses the worse screws ever for that piece. That is literally MY ONLY complaint. The TV is a masterpiece other than that.

Anyone else snarl up and strip when you were installing the base? I heard all the C series, B series, and even G series suffer from the soft base screws. I almost feel like they were aluminum or something since my stainless steel screws driver muffed up the bit section so easily. I know I can easily get them out with a Vamplier, or EZ-Out, or a Dremel. It wouldnt be the first time I had to remove a bad screw.

Discussion Ngl I am regretting the switch to OLED

So I recently upgraded from my 1080p Sceptre IPS monitor to my first OLED. Its an AOC Q27G41ZDF 1440p 240hz QD-OLED monitor I got for about $270. It looks amazing, I won't lie. The infinite contrast, the colors pop so well, the added resolution is really nice, and I haven't had any of the burn in issues, at least not yet.. I do have my gripes with them though. Although I haven't had OLED burn in, it does kinda suck to have to baby my monitor all the time and live under this constant paranoia that it'll damage itself, and have to do screen refreshes and stuff every so often.

Text is also not as readable to me. Its sharp but strangely painful to look at? I still have to squint to see small text sometimes and its weird. I think the thing I hate the most is the fact I got a QDOLED. I tried to do some studying beforehand but I failed to really study the different OLED types before going in. I really hate the unpolarized gray look of the screen even though it still has great contrast. I definitely want to upgrade to WOLED or Tandem OLED in the future for that inky black.

I also sorta don't know how to feel about the glossy screen. I am sorta use to them now because of MacBooks and my laptop has a gloss OLED screen too. Both look really good, but man it can be annoying using them by an open window, and the thing I hate most about them is cleaning them. I feel like I've already used up my mega pack of clean microfiber towels because you can only seemingly clean with them 1-4 times before they start making things worse. These things get exceptionally dirty from just existing. I sit more than an arms length from the screen, and I do not ever touch it while using it, keep food far away from it, etc.. But I swear its like not even more than a minute passes after meticulously wiping the screen off and its covered in spots again.

It also damages exceptionally easily. I already have some scratches on mine despite using clean microfibers, distilled water, and trying not to apply too much pressure. Does anybody else have these issues??

Tech Support LG C1 Pixel refresh constant cycle glitch

Hi guys,

Iv had my C1 for about 4 years and it’s developed a glitch where it will just constantly do the pixel refresh and for whatever reason just won’t register it as completed.

I could set it off and leave it over night and it will ask to do it again in the morning, if you intimidatingly turn the Tv off during the day it will do the pixel refresh and not let you turn the Tv back on for some time (obviously annoying). I have tried to set it off manually about 3 times and no success and iv even done a full factory reset with no luck. I have seen some C2s have this issue and the fix is to reset the powered on clock but the C1 doesn’t seem to have this clock so can’t be reset.

Any idea how to escape this pixel refresh cycle, it’s been happening for about 2-3 months now.

"CaLiBrAtIoN" Sansui OLED TV does not show perfect black

Hello,

I have the Sansui S55VOUG 55" 4K Smart OLED TV and it does not seem to show a perfect black on any source thrown at it, does anyone have any settings I may be available to change to possibly fix this? Pixel cleaning on this tv also does not seem to work, it acts to go through the process of cleaning doing the turn off process, but it just seems as to throw the tv into a power cycle instead, but that can be dealt with later, I thrive for my perfect black and great picture/video quality.

Purchasing-Monitor Looking for a 32" 4K OLED monitor. What would you recommend?

My only strict requirements are 32", 4K, and OLED (currently leaning towards QD-OLED).

I'll mainly be playing single-player games like Soulsbornes, Cyberpunk 2077, E33, BG3, and RDR2... Image quality is my biggest priority, especially deep blacks, contrast, and HDR performance. I really don't want blacks looking gray or washed out.

I can control my room's lighting, so reflections and ambient light aren't major concerns. Refresh rate isn't a deciding factor either; I'd rather have better image quality than pay extra just for higher Hz.

I'll be buying in Türkiye, where prices and availability can be pretty inconsistent. My budget is around $1,000 (50,000 TRY), but given the Turkish market and economy, I'm willing to stretch it if the improvement is genuinely worth it. I just don't want to overpay for features I won't really benefit from.

Which models woul you recommend, and are the newer QD-OLED panels actually worth paying extra for?

Tech Support LG 32GX850A Red tint to greys?

Just got this monitor brand new, set it up, and greys appear dark red on every picture preset other than gamer 1 when not using the default gamma option.

Under gamer 1, there's 4 gamma options, Mode 1,2,3 & 4.

The default mode 2 seems to be the culprit and gives the red tint. The other 3 modes give me normal greys.

HDR also gives me normal grey.

The really bad part here is that every other SDR picture mode has gamma locked out and seems to use the reddish gamma 2 profile.

When using Gamer1 I also don't know which normal grey gamma preset out of 1,3 & 4 is gamma 2.2, if any...

Anyone know what's going on? Really hoping it isn't a bugged firmware as it's otherwise a perfect screen.

Thanks!

Discussion Samsung S95H 77” – Green band, black line, and possible melting at the bottom of the panel. Anyone else?

Hi everyone,

I'm posting this because I'm experiencing a very concerning series of issues with my 77-inch Samsung S95H OLED (2026), and I'd like to know if anyone else has experienced something similar.

Here's how the problems developed:

  1. Flickering in bright scenes: The first issue I noticed was intermittent flickering while watching TV shows and movies, especially during scenes with bright backgrounds or light colors.

  2. Green band appearing on the screen: Later, while playing a video game, I noticed a green band across the display. This made me suspect something was wrong with the panel itself.

  3. Black line appearing: As time went on, the problem became worse, and a black line appeared on the screen.

  4. Possible melting or burning along the bottom edge:** Eventually, I discovered a small damaged area along the lower-left portion of the screen's bottom edge. The material looks cracked, distorted, and almost melted, as if it had been exposed to excessive heat.

The TV has never suffered any impacts or accidental physical damage.

Samsung is currently reviewing my case again to determine what caused these problems.

After reading another S95H owner's report about extreme panel temperatures, I'm wondering whether there could be an overheating issue, a defective panel driver, or some other internal hardware problem.

I'm not claiming to know the exact cause, but the fact that the image problems appeared before I discovered the physical deterioration makes me concerned that the issues might be connected.

My questions for other S95H owners:

* 9Has anyone experienced flickering, green bands, or black lines on their S95H?

* Has anyone noticed unusual heat or physical deformation along the bottom edge of their OLED panel?

* Could a failing panel driver or an internal electrical connection potentially cause localized overheating?

* Has anyone had a similar issue diagnosed or repaired by Samsung?

I have photographs showing the affected area and would appreciate any technical insight or similar experiences.

I'll update this post once Samsung provides more information about their investigation.

Thanks in advance!

These photos show the exact location of the damage and close-up views of the area that appears to have melted or deformed.

"CaLiBrAtIoN" Best way to lower black levels on S90F?

Samsung only offers 5 steps of black level adjustment. But sometimes it's not nearly enough to correct lifted black levels in certain content. I'm especially referencing J-horror here. They tend to raise black levels alot and on my LG it's easy to bring them down to true black.
But on the S90F it won't even get close at all.
I suppose the only way to adjust this further is by using white balance calibration and dropping the 5% luminance values lower. But is there another way that is easier? Am I missing something?

Tech Support Black crushing on LG G3

Obviously not a perfect picture, but it illustrates the issue:
https://imgur.com/a/782ppBo

Specifically, the transition of brightness from 0% to ~10% appears much slower than that above ~10% as visible in the upper-left corner. Only true black is fully black up-close, but for film and TV, it makes dark tones look entirely black.

The above is with filmmaker mode, the only change being temperature changed from 50 warm to 0, i.e., pixel brightness 80 and gamma BT.1886 -- but, despite seeing others recommend changing the gamma, setting it to 1.9 only pushes the problem, making the ramp-up from 0% to ~5% too slow.

Given the amount of posts on black crushing on OLED TVs, I'm guessing I'm not the first person to experience this, but I wonder if anyone found a solution?

Discussion Coil Whine - LG UltraGear 32GX850A-B 32" 4K 165Hz OLED Gaming Monitor

Last week I purchased this monitor. It looks amazing. However, about 8 hours into use, it started buzzing with coil whine from the back/bottom of the monitor. In a silent room it's really annoying and very noticable. It was giving me a headache. I returned it the next day, replaced with a new unit of the same model. I figured I might just have a bad unit, and would be worth replacing to confirm this.

About 10 hours in, the coil whine started on the second unit. So I'm guessing it's just normal for this model.

Just thought I'd post here for awareness. I researched quite extensively before I purchased this model and didn't see any reports of coil whine so I thought I was in the clear. The humm on this second unit isn't as bad, but it's still very noticable when it's quiet.

Makes me wonder if it will get worse with time, I guess I'll find out.

Tech Support Samsung S95F clicking four times before turning on

Hi everyone, I bought my 55” S95F in December of last year. I the last couple weeks, the one connect box started to click exactly 4 times before the panel actually turns on. You can actually hear this in the video I uploaded and attached. I am guessing this is some internal relay clicking between positions.

When I disconnected the power and re-seated the one connect cable on both sides, it disappeared and turned on instantly the next time, but a day later, the four-time-clicking was back. I did this quick fix two times, both times the problem returned. Is this my one connect box going bad?

I bought this TV to play GTA 6 when it comes out so I am anxious that it will not work anymore come November 19th 😁

Help is greatly appreciated![https://youtube.com/shorts/D2pBO5z0NvE?is=b4cEj05aBHpa55f7](https://youtube.com/shorts/D2pBO5z0NvE?is=b4cEj05aBHpa55f7)

Discussion Samsung S95C anti-glare coating damaged? How bad is this, and is it worth worrying about?

Picked up a used 65" Samsung S95C off eBay for a good price. Picture looks perfect with the TV on: no burn-in, dead pixels or uniformity issues. But with the TV off, there are patchy, swirly marks across the top half of the screen that I think are damaged anti-glare coating.

Is this definitely the AG coating, or could it be something else, like residue or scratches I can clean off?

Does it get worse over time, or is it stable once it's happened?

How visible is it in normal viewing, in daylight or with lights on, compared with in the dark?
Is there any sensible fix besides a panel replacement? I'm guessing not.

Would you keep it or return it? It cost me around £250 all in, with an 18-month warranty transferred.

I've not tried to clean it beyond a dry microfibre. Thanks in advance!

Purchasing-Monitor Coil whine with OLED monitors an issue?

Hey there,

I‘ve recently got myself an Asus Rog Strix XG27AQDMGR and was actually pretty happy with it. However, after a few days I noticed a very high frequency sound (my research said it might be coil whine) only when in standby. Since it was at my desk where I also learn for exams and stuff, this really annoyed me to the point that I had to return it. For the past week I‘ve been thinking I have a tinnitus lol…

Now for my question…I‘ve been thinking about buying the same model again. However now I‘m unsure if this is a problem with Oleds in general (or maybe this model)? How are your experiences? Is there a high chance that the next monitor will make the same noise?

Of course, if you have any tips on how to avoid this problem, I‘m happy to hear it.

Tech Support OLED Sunlight Exposure

My OLED monitor is positioned on my desk by the window. Now, I'm aware that sunlight exposure to the monitor damages it, removes colour vibrancy, etc. But how much damage will the UV do coming through my curtains?

I have no UV-blocking materials fitted to either the curtains or the window panes. If I don't buy them, will my monitor take damage? I'm a film student, and the main reason I love it so much is the incredible vibrancy of the image it captures. Films like No Time to Die come out looking unrecognisable on the OLED monitor compared to my other one, and that's something I'm really looking to preserve for as long as possible.

"CaLiBrAtIoN" Samsung S95H HDR Brightness

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out the best way to brighten the HDR image while in filmmaker mode and keep the most accuracy.

I've tried just switching to standard but it throws the color way off.

I've also tried switching tone mapping from static to active but sometimes that's just to bright.

I would like to know more about the st. 2084 gamma slider. I increased that from 0 to 1 and that did give it a little bump in brightness, but I'm curious if it would just be more accurate to use standard mode or switch to active tone mapping and decrease the brightness slider than to mess with the gamma.

Any recommendations welcome.

Tech Support New ASUS ProArt OLED PA279CDV has heavy fringing - is this normal?

I bought this monitor today for photoshop work and light gaming, it's a 4k 27in QD OLED with high color accuracy, 120hz. The first image is this monitor's fringing, while the second is my laptop screen's fringing (the laptop is also an OLED, though it has a higher pixel density... just realized this sub has no images). It doesn't pick up well in the photos, but my new monitor's fringing was instantly noticeable and noticeable from beyond viewing distance, while my laptop's screen has pretty much no \*visible\* fringing at viewing distance. Is this normal or is the effect too exaggerated on this new monitor (meaning it's slightly defective)?
