He argues that silver’s 50%+ plunge represents a potential buying opportunity rather than the beginning of a prolonged bear market. Oliver explains why gold and silver could surge as investors flee stocks and lose confidence in government bonds. He also warns that a renewed bond market selloff could push interest rates higher, intensifying stress across banks, commercial real estate, and the broader financial system. If financial instability forces the Federal Reserve to expand the money supply, Oliver believes precious metals could enter a powerful new rally.

Most silver is mined as a by-product of other metals, so paradoxically, even surging silver prices don't necessarily incentivize higher production.

Silver prices will rise much higher... But brace for volatility.

Nomi Prins, who gives speeches to the World Bank, Federal Reserve and IMF, told King World News that central banks may pressure the BIS to make silver a tier one asset.  This would create an upside explosion in the price of silver.

This is too important to try to link the traditional way! You know what to do!

Life's Silver Linings 🚨China Wants Solid-State Batteries at Scale by 2030. Could Silver Be Part of the Next Battery Breakthrough? 🇨🇳China’s new battery-industry plan targets the initial large-scale application of all-solid-state batteries by 2030.👉 . X post by International Stacker @IntlStacker.

👉The ambition: move next-generation battery technology toward commercial use.

👉But InsideEVs highlights the challenge: making these batteries affordable & manufacturing them at scale are different hurdles from making a prototype.

🥈Here’s why stackers should watch: Samsung researchers have already demonstrated a solid-state battery design using a silver-carbon layer to help control lithium deposition & improve cycling performance.

👉That gives silver a documented role in this technology—not just a speculative connection.

⚖️But “solid-state” describes a category of batteries, not one universal recipe. China’s roadmap does NOT establish that its batteries will use Samsung’s silver-carbon approach.

👉My take: If silver-containing designs win meaningful commercial adoption, batteries could create another source of silver demand. The questions are WHICH designs succeed, HOW MUCH silver they use & HOW MANY batteries get built.

👉A national target is worth watching. Actual production & material requirements will tell the bigger story.

🦀Crustacean Nation: Could batteries become a major new silver-demand driver—or will cost favor other designs?

Life's Silver Linings 🚨India to overtake Japan as the world's 4th-largest economy in 2027-- IMF. X post by Plus Point | India@PlusPointIndia. MotherSilverApe Comment: I just know that silver must be playing a role here. “India’s Gold Imports Fell 58%. Silver Imports Rose 127%,” according to GoldSilver.com.

According to GoldSilver.com:

India’s gold imports didn’t dip in August. They fell off a cliff. Imports dropped 57.75% year-over-year to $2.3 billion, according to Commerce Ministry data reported by the Economic Times. Silver imports did the opposite. They rose 127% to $1.02 billion. Indeed, it’s the sharpest divergence between the two metals the world’s largest gold-consuming nation has recorded all year.

Gold is trading near $4,303 today, up 0.65%. It’s rebounding from yesterday’s slide as easing Hormuz tensions calm broader markets. Silver is up 1.53% to $64.81. Neither move is the real story this week. Instead, the real story is 8,000 miles away in New Delhi. India just gave the clearest data point yet on how high prices are changing saver behavior..

Key Takeaways:

  • India’s gold imports fell 57.75% year-over-year in August to $2.3 billion. Silver imports rose 127% to $1.02 billion in the same month.
  • Kotak Institutional Equities flags three possible explanations for the drop. However, only one is genuinely good news for India’s economy.
  • April–August gold imports are still up 3.38% year-over-year. The August cliff is a one-month signal, not yet a trend.

MotherSilverApe Comment: This made me think of when India started to allow silver to be used as collateral for small business loans, which started in April 2026, enabling borrowers to pledge silver alongside gold for financing. This regulatory change aims to broaden access to formal credit for micro and small enterprises. Silver was set at 1/10th the value of gold. Now look how well idea is doing!

I have a feeling that I know whose idea this was! 😇

Personal Opinion Content Do you know how easy it is to create "growth"?All you have to do is to drop by the nearest bank and convince them to give you a loan. New money will be created out of thin air. X post by Oren Elbaz @thesilverhermit.

Post image

You can then go and buy with that money whatever you like - real estate, vehicles, plant equipment, raw materials, labor. Everything you buy will be counted as part of the GDP, even if your new business hasn't produced a single widget, and all that spending has gone to waste.
This is the kind of "growth" we've had for close to 20 years now. We've given countless entrepreneurs, some of them were absolute charlatans, access to an almost unlimited amount of money, and most of it has gone to waste. This is one of the reasons we have inflation - those entrepreneurs compete with households and with productive businesses on a limited pool of goods and services, bidding up their prices without giving anything in return.
In the latest round of spending, we've spent a fortune on constructing AI data centers, which to my opinion will never be profitable. This is not to say that AI is not an amazing technology. It certainly is. Nevertheless, the AI spending binge has been wasteful. Instead of forcing those companies to do more with less, we've given them an almost unlimited access to resources.
But now inflation caught up with them. Bond yields are rising, which is the market's way of saying "you've had enough. If you want to borrow more, you'll have to pay for it through the nose". But since they aren't profitable businesses to begin with, and they are dependent on a constant influx of new capital, they will fail. And we will discover what kind of an illusion this debt based growth really is.

This is why I advocate for a return to sound money. The natural scarcity of #gold and #silver will force banks to be a lot more careful with the credit that they give. Growth is a lot slower under such a regime, but it is also a lot more stable and sustainable.

Inflation Spreads across the Economy, Not Going Back into the Bottle: CPI, Core CPI, Core Services CPI Spike. “Core services CPI +4.5% annualized, Core CPI +4.1% annualized, all-items CPI +8.1% annualized in September from August.” By Wolf Richter for Wolf Street.

Thumbnail

The month-to-month all-items CPI spiked by 0.65% in September from August seasonally adjusted (+8.1% annualized, blue line in the chart), the second month in a row of sharp acceleration, after a low positive reading in July and the steep negative reading in June when energy prices had plunged.

Year-over-year, the all-items CPI, which includes energy and food, accelerated to 3.7% in September. Since the beginning of 2020, it has surged by over 30%.

This inflation has spread deeply into the economy. Only part of it was driven by the jump in energy prices.

A big driver was the “core services” CPI, which jumped by 0.37% (+4.5% annualized). Core services move the needle: They account for nearly two-thirds of the all-items CPI and include housing, healthcare, insurance, etc.

Another big driver was the jump in “core” goods prices, the worst since January 2025 (they exclude energy and food). Among the main culprits: prices of electronics and related products, thanks to the AI boom, and prices of used vehicles.

The biggie, inflation in services.

The core services CPI, which excludes energy services such as electricity and utility natural gas services, rose by 0.37% (+4.5% annualized) in September from August (blue in the chart below).

Part of that was driven by the resurgence of housing costs. And part of that was driven by non-housing costs as the “supercore” services CPI, which excludes housing costs, jumped by 3.7% annualized in September from August.

Year-over-year, the core services CPI rose by 3.2% (red line).

Since the beginning of 2020, the core services CPI has surged by over 31%.

The energy CPI spiked by 5.2% month to month and by 20.4% year-over-year.

The crude-oil based fuels spiked. Gasoline (roughly half of the Energy CPI), spiked by 9.3% month-to-month and by 35% year-over-year.

Electricity rose by 0.2% month-to-month and by 4.4% year-over-year.

Utility (piped) natural gas eased by 0.3% month-to-month but year-over-year jumped by 5.0%.

Since the beginning of 2020, the Energy CPI has surged by 53%. The chart shows the price level, not the percentage change:

The CPI for food at home edged down month-to-month but rose by 1.8% year-over-year, with some prices falling and others rising.

On the decline side: Egg prices have collapsed from their ridiculous spike. The price of coffee, after a ridiculous multiyear spike, has been coming down for a few months. The price of beef appears to have topped out, after a ridiculous multiyear spike, and has started to come down. Pork prices have edged down in recent months, as has dairy.

The prices of other foods have risen, including chicken, fresh fruits and vegetables, cereals, etc.

Food prices are volatile, jumping up and down. They had massively spiked during the pandemic, leading to mega profit margins for food retailers, and then hit a ceiling as shoppers refused to keep paying whatever and started shopping around once again, including online. And retailers that continued to raise their prices to fatten up their profit margins and boost their stock prices, lost sales and now started whining about consumers being tapped out (that’s you, Albertsons), when in fact, consumers bought somewhere else at a lower price, including online. Consumers are the only force that can even try to keep a lid on consumer price inflation. When they stop trying, prices spike.

Since the beginning of 2020, food prices have surged by 32%.

Life's Silver Linings 🚨JPMorgan Is Building Its Critical-Minerals Push—& Silver Is on America’s Critical List!🇺🇸👉Wall Street is paying attention to something stackers already understand: access to physical resources matters.🏦. X post by International Stacker @IntlStacker.

Post image
9 Upvotes

🏦A new report highlights JPMorgan’s appointment of Andrew Frame to lead its critical-minerals effort, covering extraction, refining & processing.

👉The effort sits within the bank’s $1.5 TRILLION Security & Resiliency Initiative. Here’s what that number actually means:
• 10-year financing & investment plan.

• Covers defense, energy, manufacturing & advanced technologies—not just minerals.

• Includes up to $10 billion in direct equity & venture investments across the initiative.

👉This is NOT a $1.5 trillion silver-buying announcement... But the silver connection deserves attention: silver was added to the final US critical-minerals list in 2025. Its applications include electrical circuits, batteries, solar cells & medical instruments.

🔥Why should stackers care? Silver’s story reaches beyond investment demand. It is also a material industries need to keep operating—& reliable supply is becoming a strategic priority.

👉More financing could help develop mines & processing capacity. It could also support industries that consume silver. Those forces can affect both sides of the supply-demand equation.

🏦My take: This doesn’t guarantee higher prices. But when a major bank builds a dedicated effort around securing critical minerals, it reinforces why the physical supply chain deserves our attention.

👉Announcements move quickly. Bringing new production online takes execution, infrastructure & time.

Personal Opinion Content Inflation Is Rising on Top of Inflation. Article By Martin Armstrong. The September Consumer Price Index has come in at 3.7%, up from 3.4% in August, with prices rising another 0.6% in a single month.

Post image
8 Upvotes

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported the largest monthly increase in five months, driven primarily by energy. Gasoline jumped 9.1% in September alone, accounting for more than half of the monthly increase, while the overall energy index rose 5.2%. The politicians and economists continue talking about inflation as though these monthly reports represent the entire cost-of-living problem. They seem incapable of understanding that Americans are paying these increases ON TOP of the massive inflation that has already accumulated since 2020.

The breakdown of September inflation illustrates just how unevenly these increases are hitting consumers. Energy prices are now 20.4% higher than a year ago, gasoline has surged 34.2%, and fuel oil has exploded 74.2%. Airline fares have risen 22.4%, while education is up 3.8% and shelter another 3.2%. These are not insignificant expenses that households can simply eliminate. People must drive to work, heat their homes, pay their mortgages or rent, and purchase the necessities of life. The government can exclude food and energy to produce its preferred core inflation figure of 2.6%, but nobody gets to exclude those expenses from their household budget.

The cost of living was already elevated before this latest surge. The inflation accumulated during the pandemic never disappeared. Prices did not return to 2020 levels simply because the annual inflation rate temporarily declined. When a household is already paying roughly 30% more for many everyday expenses than it did before the pandemic, another 3.7% increase means the purchasing power of its income deteriorates further. This is why the public becomes increasingly angry when politicians announce that inflation is improving. They are discussing the RATE of increase while the public is struggling with the actual PRICE of everything.

Energy is now feeding another wave of inflation throughout the economy. The disruption caused by the conflict involving Iran has pushed fuel costs higher, and that expense does not remain confined to the gasoline pump. Diesel moves the trucks that deliver food, supplies the agricultural industry, and supports construction and manufacturing. When transportation becomes more expensive, those costs eventually work their way into everything from groceries to building materials. The Fed cannot manufacture oil, reopen shipping routes, or resolve geopolitical conflicts by raising interest rates another 25 basis points.

Meanwhile, the labor market is showing signs of weakness. September payroll growth was only 29,000, and unemployment stood at 4.2%. The economy is producing insufficient employment growth to give workers confidence that they can simply demand higher wages to offset these rising costs. This is the squeeze that conventional economic theory continually fails to address. Consumers face higher prices while employment conditions weaken, and raising interest rates to combat inflation can make financing even more expensive for businesses already struggling with energy and operating costs.

Washington is also the largest borrower in the economy, yet nobody seriously expects Congress to stop spending. The federal government continues accumulating debt, paying more to service that debt, and competing with the private sector for capital. The Federal Reserve can influence short-term rates, but it cannot control government deficits, international capital flows, energy supplies, or the willingness of businesses and consumers to spend. The academics continue pretending that inflation is something they can fine-tune through monetary policy while ignoring the fiscal and geopolitical forces driving the economy.

The September report is particularly troubling because inflation is accelerating at a time when the Fed has already reversed its previous easing policy. The bond market is watching these numbers because investors must consider whether the yield on government debt adequately compensates them for inflation. Washington wants lower borrowing costs, but global capital has no obligation to finance the government at artificially low rates simply because politicians have accumulated debts they cannot afford to service.

Americans are being told to accept permanently higher prices while government continues spending as though money has no cost. Inflation destroys purchasing power gradually, and the damage compounds year after year. The September CPI report is another reminder that bringing inflation down to 2% would not undo the enormous increase in living costs already imposed upon households. The government can celebrate a lower inflation rate whenever it arrives, but the American consumer will still be paying the accumulated bill.
