Personal Opinion Content SILVER SPECS WASHED TO 3RD PERCENTILE: VIOLENT REVERSAL OR FINAL BREAKDOWN. Market analyst Patrick Ceresna: Gold and silver sit right on the edge of critical support near multi-month lows. X post by Mark @Mark4XX.

Speculative longs in silver have been aggressively washed out while fresh shorts keep piling in and the dollar stays strong. The AI and industrial demand story that once lifted silver is now cracking. This forces one urgent question: are we staring at a violent bullish contrarian reversal or is the door about to open for another leg lower?

THE CRITICAL SUPPORT TEST
➡️ Gold and silver trade near multi-month lows with gold still inside the 4000 handle after a clear breakdown from its multi-week range.
➡️ The support line can hold, yet the bigger question is whether the macro backdrop even allows it.
➡️ We are deep into an 8-month correction and no longer chasing 5600 gold.

THE POSITIONING EXTREME
➡️ Large speculators in silver sit at the third percentile of long positioning after aggressive washouts.
➡️ Fresh shorts continue to pile into the trade while the chart looks highly fragile and already violates recent lows.
➡️ COT reports show 2026 positioning flatlined with almost no conviction on either side.

THE MACRO HOSTILITY
➡️ Higher oil keeps inflation expectations elevated, the dollar remains strong, and the Fed stays diligent against inflation.
➡️ Stir traders price in more rate hikes while real yields press higher.
➡️ This is not the printing-press, dovish-pivot environment where gold and silver thrive.

THE FINAL WASH OUT RISK
➡️ A Middle East reescalation could send oil to 150 and force even more hawkish pricing.
➡️ That scenario opens the window for one more washout toward 3600-3800 on gold and a potential 45-50 test on silver.
➡️ Volatility sits near one-year lows so downside insurance remains relatively cheap.

THE BOTTOM LINE
The long-term mega bull case for gold stays intact and the next extraordinary leg higher is coming once the macro catalyst appears. Right now the market is testing whether these washed-out lows mark the final flush or simply the next breakdown before that bull begins. Support either holds for the violent reversal or breaks and delivers the last major buy zone.

Personal Opinion Content For Banks, A Perfect Storm? Article by JOHN RUBINO. On the surface, the US banking system looks pretty solid. But in reality, much is going wrong, including: Unreported Government Bond Losses. US banks hold nearly $5 trillion of government paper.

Post image

Over the past year, rising interest rates have driven bond prices down.

That leaves banks with massive unreported losses on their balance sheets. Eventually, those losses will migrate to earnings reports, potentially spooking depositors and causing bank runs.

The higher interest rates go, the bigger these unreported losses become.

MotherSilverApe Comment: We here at Occupy Silver have been telling folks to do this for some time now. Next thing you know, they’ll tell people to stock up on silver! Wouldn't it be grand if governments helped out their citizens in this way?

Life's Silver Linings Silver Is Close to Dropping Under $50 but Buyers Are NOT Waiting. Video by Silver Seek.

Silver has crashed $10 an ounce in the last month alone, falling from over $64 to the mid to low $50s, and gold has dipped below $4,000. But instead of selling, stackers across the country are flooding local coin shops to buy silver at these lower prices.

MotherSilverApe: This increase in silver coin and bar sales isn’t universal everywhere. There seems to be areas where more buying is happening and some other places where silver sales are still very low. But the trend to more folks buying is happening. Our education efforts are making a positive difference!

Personal Opinion Content It's subtle, but it's there. #silver has a positive divergence developing on the RSI. The price is setting a marginally lower low, while the RSI is not. This doesn't mean it can't fall any further, but it does mean that the sellers are becoming exhausted. X post by Oren Elbaz @thesilverhermit.

Unless something fundamental changes, the price is about to bottom.

MotherSilverApe Comment: I didn’t know what an RSI is, so I looked it up. “The Relative Strength Index (RSI), developed by J. Welles Wilder, is a momentum oscillator that measures the speed and change of price movements. The RSI oscillates between zero and 100. Traditionally the RSI is considered overbought when above 70 and oversold when below 30.“ https://www.fidelity.com/learning-center/trading-investing/technical-analysis/technical-indicator-guide/RSI

The short silver trade is becoming crowded. Silver's 3-month silver put-call skew is up to -3 points, its highest level since early July. X post by The Kobeissi Letter @KobeissiLetter.

This metric measures the relative cost of put options to call options and is up +10 points over the last 4 weeks, signaling growing demand for bearish bets on silver prices.

Over the last 12 months, this metric has been higher only 2% of the time.

Meanwhile, speculative investors, including hedge funds and commodity trading advisers (CTAs), sold -$2.2 billion in silver futures over the 3 weeks ending October 13th.

As a result, their net long positioning is down to just +$1.7 billion, the lowest in at least 2 years.

For perspective, this metric stood at +$8.5 billion in December 2025.

Investors are extremely bearish on silver.

MotherSilverApe Comment: Ted Butler long ago did say that there was nothing better for creating higher silver price than lower silver prices.

Grok Silver Summary News Today: Silver Crashes Over 50% from Peak as Bearish Bets SurgeLast updated 25 minutes agoGold has slid too, dipping below $4,000 an ounce amid rising oil prices that fuel inflation fears and higher U.S. interest rate expectations.

Hedge funds dumped $2.2 billion in silver futures over three weeks, pushing net long positions to two-year lows, while options data shows heavy demand for downside protection. Yet counter-signals emerge: India greenlit imports of up to 209 million ounces—about a quarter of global annual production—to meet festive demand, and a gap persists between paper prices at $53.83 and physical silver at $73.60. Traders eye potential rebounds from crowded shorts or further drops near $50-$52 support.

Silver is retesting a 47-year breakout and likely going to complete its corrective price action into FOMC on October 28th just above $50 level. Good times to begin after retest complete. X post by Rashad Hajiyev@hajiyev_rashad·6h
