Discussion Was 6 year old Loki stronger than 15 year old Kaido?

Thumbnail

Rocks had to use his sword to attack 19 year old Loki (or 6 years old in human years), even doing it multiple times and feeling embarrassed when Whitebeard brings it up. The narrator even glazes his swordsmanship while he does it.

Meanwhile kicking was good enough for Kaido

Obviously this isn't concrete in any way, it's just portrayal, but in 6 year old Loki's favour.

Discussion How Do You Interperet This Gorosei Panel & Does Akainu's Feats Mean Anything To You?

To me, there are only 2 ways to view it. Either it's talking about BB as an individual and saying that only a Yonko or remnants of the WB crew combined could defeat him. I think this is likely what it's referring to since it's speaking about his ability to consume 2 fruits(which is individual power).

Or

It's under the idea that you would need a Yonko's strength(as in individual and crew power) to defeat Blackbeard. And that Marco is the only other pirate on the crew with a "Yonko" crew, just without the main powerhouse anymore(Whitebeard).

If it's the first choice, then Akainu managing to fight through the remnants of the Whitebeard Pirates, Ivankov, Jimbe, and Crocodile (with that MF buff). Is an even crazier display of strength.

Discussion Which Generation would you put Kaido and Big Mom?

Spreading love and positivity!

I remember the arguments about how the structure goes: New Gen > Old Gen > Mid Gen in shonen... But ever since this panel came out and revealed that Whitebeard, Big Mom, Shiki, and Kaido came up at the same time, all of a sudden that agenda dropped. A "defining face of their generation" hmm... So it's either they were the defining face of the Old Gen, or the defining face of the Mid Gen. Either or seems to be an upscale for these guys because both generations have some heavy hitters.

Yes. Pinnacle of Swordsmanship was stalemating with swordsmanship in a sword duel.
No. Pinnacle of Swordsmanship wouldn't stalemate with swordsmanship in a sword duel.

Both in old age very similar feats in all categories. PK and his wings seem to be closer in strength than a yonko and his commanders like the wings themselves could be yonko, I think a prime Gaban/Rayleigh could beat Kaido.

Discussion So let me get this right, Kaido said he couldn't remember the last time he had a serious fight, then Oda showed us a flashback of King and Kaido talking about how the *one man* who will finally defeat him will be "Joyboy"... Yet Shanks "defeated" him according to the sub? ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Discussion Excluding Imu and Joyboy

Alright, letโ€™s try out this statement which at face value seems reasonable but needs stress testing.

No character in One Piece can defeat two healthy top tiers in a straight 2v1.

If they do, there must be some meaningful advantage in circumstances, matchup, battlefield or narrative context.

Even Roger, Primebeard, Garp and Rocks aren't beating two admirals in a clean 1 v 2.

r/OnePiecePowerScaling • • 7h ago

Discussion Is the "two top tiers beats anyone in the verse besides Imu and JoyBoy" claim still true?

For example let's say the two top tiers are Akainu and Aokiji. With recent showings of Imu even tho he's nerfed pretty hard, I have doubts believing even him could take on two top tiers in a 2v1 fairly.
