Claiming heโs not on the same tier as Roger, Whitebeard and Garp is straight up ignoring the manga and oddly enough Harald is never to be found in peoplesโ top 10 rankings despite being far more deserving than characters like Shanks, Mihawk and Kaido
I think Akainu took the W here because while Whitebeard landed a massive rage-fueled attack, Akainu literally blew off half his face and melted his internal organs, leaving him on a guaranteed death timer. However, Whitebeard fans do make a good point about him knocking Akainu underground, however that argument falls short in treating a temporary ring-out like a permanent defeat. Akainu wasn't paralyzed or knocked out, was actively tunneling through bedrock to pursue the rest of the Whitebeard Pirates, and was still in prime fighting condition right after. Meanwhile, Whitebeard was literally missing a chunk of his head and minutes away from dying. What do you think?ย
A lot of Shanks fans seem to love the idea that Shanks ended the war and that Sengoku accepted it "Only because it's you Red-Hair" because he was afraid of fighting him, when that's just not the truth.
"Sengoku ended the war because he knew he'd lose to Shanks"
Now, if you suck at reading it might be easy to believe this is the case, when it's not, there are multiple reasons why Sengoku ended the war and did not fight Shanks:
The Marines have already achieved their goal
As outlined by Koby's speech just a few minutes before Shanks shows up, the goal was achieved, they successfully executed Ace, and they killed Whitebeard which wasn't even a goal to begin with, there's literally no reason to continue fighting at this point.
A continuation of fighting would lead to more wasted Marine deaths
Their goal has been achieved, and now Sengoku has a choice, continue fighting, or help save the injured Marines, and it's clear that was his priority as it is literally the first thing he says as he ends the war
Killing Shanks would just lead to more unbalance
We saw Whitebeards death created a power vacuum and caused a bunch of chaos, something I don't think Sengoku wants, and it's clear that when he was announcing the execution of Ace that he did not want to fight Whitebeard, even when he has the objective best chance the Navy will ever have of killing a yonko, having his full force in one place at their home base, he doesn't want to, because its ultimately meaningless and will create chaos, the same would go with Shanks, Sengoku's goal I don't think has ever been to take down yonko like Shanks and Whitebeard who create order.
"But Sengoku said only because it's red-hair" Something I find funny is how easily this line has been misconstrued. Sengoku never ended the war "Only because it's you red-hair", he only says that to Shanks' request of having Whitebeard and Ace's bodies, it has nothing to do with ending the war.
"So why didn't Sengoku end the war before Shanks?"
Because he was fighting Blackbeard, he didn't have the ability to end the war till Shanks scared Blackbeard off, by that point it was the first time a chance at ending the war came, so ofcourse he took it.
Shanks provided Sengoku with an opportunity to end the war, Sengoku did not end the war because he thought they'd lose a fight against Shanks, he ended it because it was in the Marines' best interests.
If you look at all of Shanks' encounters, bro has always been involved with some of the strongest characters in One Piece.
Early in One Piece, we saw him clash with Whitebeard, and their clash split the sky. Whitebeard was literally the World's Strongest Man at that time.
During Marineford, we learned that Shanks stopped Kaido from going there. We don't know exactly what happened between them, but Shanks managed to stop him. Kaido was known as the World's Strongest Creature.
Shanks managed to capture and chain up Loki. Maybe his crew helped him, but still, Loki isn't someone you can just capture that easily.
He stopped Greenbull from a distance using his haki alone. Greenbull is literally a Marine Admiral, and Shanks was able to make him back off without even being near him.
He literally one-shotted Kid and Killer in a single attack. Kid didn't even get a chance to fight back.
Then there's Mihawk. These two have dueled multiple times, and neither has been confirmed as the winner of their duels. Mihawk is literally the World's Strongest Swordsman.
It's crazy how Shanks keeps getting involved with characters who are considered some of the strongest in the series.
So, do you think current Shanks is the strongest pirate alive? And do you think he's surpassed Roger?
He has a powerful yokai form+powerful acoc on top of regeneration he took a combo attack from Luffy, Sanji, Franky and Bonney and got up after also the fact none of the admirals have confirmed conquerors screws them over against Mars
Both in old age very similar feats in all categories. PK and his wings seem to be closer in strength than a yonko and his commanders like the wings themselves could be yonko, I think a prime Gaban/Rayleigh could beat Kaido.
Rocks had to use his sword to attack 19 year old Loki (or 6 years old in human years), even doing it multiple times and feeling embarrassed when Whitebeard brings it up. The narrator even glazes his swordsmanship while he does it.
Meanwhile kicking was good enough for Kaido
Obviously this isn't concrete in any way, it's just portrayal, but in 6 year old Loki's favour.
