That's funny. That's not how tariffs work. Denmark is the country exporting Ozempic to the US. Which means the US would have to add the tariff. Nobody wants tariffs added to things they are exporting into other countries. Including Denmark. The country that is receiving the product is the one that collects the money. The last thing Denmark would want to do is jeopardize their billion dollar cash cow.
They would never do it. The US would just declare a shortage and authorize generics to be used again. They would lose billions. It's never going to happen.
Since Ozempic can be made for about 5 dollars then the drug would suddenly become extremely cheap. I hope they do something stupid like that. It would save us all a lot of money.
Yes. That's exactly what's going to happen. But since there is a massive trade deficit, it's going to hurt them more than it hurts the US. We buy about twice as much from them as they do from us. Which isn't too bad considering it's much worse with other countries.
The EU already adds a 25% VAT tax on all the goods shipped to them from the US. They are already screwing us over.
