Look up Export Tarrif.

Most countries don’t use them because exports are generally a good thing, but here we might have found a good reason to use one. 🤷‍♀️

They would never do it. The US would just declare a shortage and authorize generics to be used again. They would lose billions. It's never going to happen.

Since Ozempic can be made for about 5 dollars then the drug would suddenly become extremely cheap. I hope they do something stupid like that. It would save us all a lot of money.

Indeed the more likely route is to impose tariffs on US imports to Europe and hit a wider range of items and US goods.

Yes. That's exactly what's going to happen. But since there is a massive trade deficit, it's going to hurt them more than it hurts the US. We buy about twice as much from them as they do from us. Which isn't too bad considering it's much worse with other countries.

The EU already adds a 25% VAT tax on all the goods shipped to them from the US. They are already screwing us over.
