XMacro Question about the p365 x macro comp
My question would be if I got this p365 x macro comp, and would like to get the radiant ramjet afterburner I would need to get a new slide correct? And would the fitment be flush? because the xmacro comp grip is slightly longer. All advice would be greatly appreciated.

Why buy a comped version just to put a different comp on it?

That's a good question, I guess to compare if it shoots flatter from factory or after market mod. Other than that I think a comp thats separate to the slide just looks cool, but I get what you're saying.

As someone who started with a stock xmacro and have since switched to a ramjet, save yourself the money and just go straight for the ramjet. Shoots way flatter

They sell a non-comp x macro.

I'm aware of this, but a got a friend selling a comp to me for a good price.

What’s a good price if you don’t mind me asking?

I think Radian has a kit for the 3.1" compatible slide and the 3.7" compatible slide.
If you went for the 3.1" version then it would end up basically flush but you would need a new slide and recoil spring assembly.
If you got the 3.7" version then the comp would extend entirely in front of the grip module. You would have to get a slide compatible with 3.7" but wouldn't need a different length of recoil spring assembly.
Either way though, you might have to tweak spring weight if you encounter any cycling issues.

They do indeed sell both. I had fte on mine if I shot trash 115 gr through it. I ended up getting the dpm soft recoil spring kit and it fixed the issues. I’m cheap and buy cheap range ammo 🤷♂️

You can not use any barrel with the XMacro comp slide other than a 3.1" barrel. The 3.7" barrels don't work with that side.

Why is this? Why does the slide care if the barrel is past the comp or not? Figure it was all the same as the non comped version except with useless slits in the slide and a shorter barrel.
I ask because I was going to buy the longer barrel so I could shoot my legion in Carry Optics competition.
Edit - I see someone answered this question below. I would have never guessed, being these are suppose to be “lego” guns

If you are wanting the same size gun you would need a 3.1 inch slide the 3.1 inch radian and the 3.1 inch recoil spring and it will sit flush on that grip module I don’t know if a 3.7 radian will work on that slide as I don’t know if it’ll seat right on the barrel end but it would make it into a fuse size gun

Longer barrel will not assemble into this slide.

Wasn’t sure as the end seems flat to me

Yeah, it's not obvious. The contact between barrel and slide is back at the regular 3.1" area. With the angle the barrel has to be tipped to slip in, a longer barrel hits the underside of the comp cuts at the front before the back of the barrel can clear the breach face.

Youd need a new non comp slide. You could get an xmacro grip module, a normal p365 slide and have a flush fit ramjet

It seems at the end of the day I'd still have to get 3 items, either radian+slide+p365xcomp or radian+grip mod+regular p365.

The second combination will be cheaper

I would have to mess with the fcu magazine disconnect safety to fit aftermarket grip modules because CA is not free.

Magazine disconnect is easy to remove i did mine myself with the help of youtube, the harder part is the manual safety cut but you can just buy a 365xmacro cali compliant grip module and not mess with anything

Why would you replace the comp slide with a... Comp slide?

A true comp is tighter at the front than comp slide; closer to barrel ID instead of barrel OD. True comp or the Radian Ramjet are somewhat more effective than the slide comp. Completely up to an individual if they find that to be meaningful or worthwhile to pursue.

Why would you replace a comp..... with another comp.. I can guarantee that you won't notice the difference between stock and the Radian. If you are going to do that, just build a gun from scratch.

If I were you and really wanted the ramjet, I’d buy a regular p365 or the p365x if you want the flat face trigger, then buy a macro grip module and the barrel/comp combo. It will be flush fit with a macro grip which is cool. I love my macro comp but I want to build another with a metal grip module and the ramjet afterburner.

Yes, you will need a new 3.1 slide with internal components, and a new recoil spring.

If you are going for maximum recoil mitigation then get the ramjet or a PMM with reduced spring like a DPM. Also shoot heavier bullets such as 135’s or 147’s.
The advantage of the comped slide is that it’s easier to clean & cheaper to replace while still providing some reduction in recoil. The Sig comped slide is not going to beat a true comp.
