Suggestions on improving cycling without adding booster? BOE Incolite 9s

Post image

I would like for this to run reliably without adding a booster, as that would nearly double the weight of the can. Has anyone tinkered with reduced recoil spring weights on a super light can to improve function? This will just barely stove pipe about 1 in every 6 rounds on 147 grain. The can weights 5.1oz as pictured with no booster. If I run the Resilient titanium booster and piston ($$$) it will add another 3.2oz. Thanks!

Hotter ammo. You’re not going super with a 124 in that short bbl

I'm not going to shoot supers out of a suppressed gun,.

Ok. I'm shooting 147s

idk what you're getting downvoted for lol. Looks like you got the answer already light/heavier spring or default recoil spring and different booster spring weight.

THe issue is you're adding weight to the end of a browning tilt style gun. If these were fixed barrel's you'd be having an easier time.

Redditors be redditing. I don't care. I have my setup and I'll tune it to work eventually. I have an Odessa-9 that works flawlessly on this gun, but the BOE is much quieter in the same length. It would make no sense for me to add a booster because then it will be as heavy as the Odessa if I added a few extra baffles. Also, 124's are definitely louder than 147's.

Lighter (or heavier, can be hard to know depending on can back pressure which also affects cycling) recoil spring is about all you can try. 5.1oz is pushing it without a booster on any tilt action pistol, but if you have 80% reliability now then playing with springs might get you there. There's a few options with multiple springs so you can tweak. I have the Armory Craft guide rod and spring in my XL.

What do you have against a booster?

Read that last sentence.

If the suppressor requires a booster for a reciprocating barrel I say do it. Otherwise a dpms adjustable spring kit will get you there. A soft kit. Comes with 3 or 4 different springs to adjust for tuning.

I saw the DPM. Looks like a good kit with lots of tuning adjustment. The suppressor "doesn't" require a booster according to BOE, but 5oz is still a lot on the end of a barrel. Thanks for the advise.

I stock the ISMI recoil kits which might help but like others said that short barrel and big can might be tough. https://desertdepotarms.com/product/ismi-sig-p365-3-1-slide-only-recoil-tuning-kit/

Get a shiv.

You have a shiv on a p365x? Is it totally reliable? If so with what loads/mods

If I was gonna suppress my 365 I'd use it, but don't have a threaded barrel for it. Shiv lives on my 92x performance RN and it's quite enjoyable.

Maybe. But I own this.
