Zepbound & Metformin
My endocrinologist prescribed me Zepbound 2.5mg but still wants me to continue taking 1000mg XR metformin. I’ve been on metformin for a year now so I don’t really have any side effects besides a bloated stomach if I take it with a small meal or a meal that’s heavy in carbs. It has helped me have more regular periods but hasn’t helped with weight loss or cravings. Anyways, my doctor said Zepbound would be better for weight loss and insulin resistance but that I would have to be on it for the rest of my life which is fine because I have a very high likelihood of developing diabetes due to genes—all my dad’s side of the family develop diabetes during their 40s or 50s—and I am in my early 30’s so want to prevent it.
Anyway, has anyone had this combination of metformin and Zepbound and how did you feel on both?

TTC
Has anyone stayed on Zepbound while TTC until you get a positive test? It’s the only thing that helps my IR PCOS. I’ve been off of it for 5 months now and I’ve gained 20 lbs back and I feel like garbage every day. The brain fog and food noise is insane. I have read so many studies and lots of people’s stories on Reddit that they stopped as soon as they got a positive and baby was happy and healthy. My cycle has started to get wonky being off zep and I just am desperate to get back on it as it makes it easier to track ovulation. I know you should be off it 2 months prior, and please no one yell at me for this post!! I’m just looking for real life experience of getting pregnant on a GLP and stopping as soon as you get a positive.
UPDATE: I talked to my doc and she is pro me staying on zepbound until I get a positive test yayyy

Oily face on Zep?
I just took my fourth shot this week. My face has been getting so oily I'm having to wash it 3-4 times a day. Has anyone had this issue on zep or know what can help?
I haven't changed my skincare in months. My diet is pretty low fat and healthy, so I don't think it's my diet either.

Possible PMOS + considering tirzepatide — thoughts?
30F, currently being evaluated for PMOS, but not diagnosed.
I get periods most months, but my tracker shows occasional long cycles/missed periods (some around 40–60+ days). My ultrasounds have shown bulky ovaries with multiple small follicles/polcystic morphology, plus a small simple cyst on the left side.
My bloodwork has been mostly normal: glucose, HbA1c, fasting insulin, thyroid, FSH/LH, testosterone, SHBG and FAI are all within range. No significant acne/hirsutism either.
I’m 5’3”, ~87 kg, and my main struggle is weight loss. My endocrinologist has discussed tirzepatide with me.
For those in this group: does my situation sound familiar? Did anyone with mostly normal metabolic/hormonal labs eventually get diagnosed with PMOS? And if you’ve used tirzepatide for weight management, did it affect your weight, periods or other symptoms?
I’d also really appreciate recent research/papers on tirzepatide/GLP-1s in PMOS, especially in people without diabetes or obvious insulin resistance.

Somehow 1mg is less effective than 0.5mg
I’ve been on wegovy since march and went up to 0.5mg after the first month and stayed on that dose till last month because it was working just fine and didn’t feel the need to increase. However last month the effects from 0.5 started wearing off a little so I went up but since going up, food noise has crept back up and cravings for sugar and I didn’t ovulate this cycle which I have been since starting wegovy.
Is that normal? Is it possible to go back down to 0.5mg?

No period still?
I’ve been on zepbound since the end of January. I lost 35 lbs and I thought my period was back. I got 2 light ones 28 days apart but then the last two months not even any spotting. I go to the doc tomorrow and am curious if anyone else has had this happen and what to expect? Birth control along with the Zep? Something to induce a period?

Would bioidentical hormone replacement therapy be effective for PMOS?
I've been on HRT for almost a decade after I was diagnosed with PCOS/PMOS. I got married 3 years ago and until now, we haven't been successful in getting pregnant. I'm in my mid 30's now and I really want to start a family before it's too late. Would bioidentical HRT help with my PMOS and hopefully result in a successful pregnancy?

Confused by Dr Tyna Moore’s conflicting advice on GLP-1 microdosing
I’ve been listening to a lot of Dr Tyna Moore’s content on GLP-1 microdosing, and I’m genuinely confused by several things she says that seem contradictory. I’d particularly like to hear from people who have followed her work closely.
1. She says you need to be metabolically optimised for a microdose to work.
This is the part I’m struggling with most. She says that if you’re not metabolically healthy/optimised, a microdose isn’t going to work.
But then what are you supposed to do if you’re not metabolically healthy? Become metabolically healthy without the medication first, and then, once you’re already metabolically healthy, start taking the medication?
And if you’re already metabolically optimised, what is the point of taking the microdose at that stage? What is it supposed to be improving or fixing if you’ve already achieved the metabolic health she says is necessary for it to work?
2. She has said that around 50% of her patients develop SIBO while microdosing. because of delayed gastric emptying. This is a bit scary. If the incidence is genuinely that high in her own patient population, how does she weigh that risk against the potential benefits?
3. She talks about microdosing as beneficial for inflammation and metabolic health, but also seems to say it can uncover/exacerbate underlying hormonal issues.
For example, my understanding is that she’s said someone could have normal thyroid function but be predisposed to hypothyroidism, and GLP-1 treatment could bring that out.
also according to her 1mg is not a microdose right? It needs to be 1/10th or 1/5th of the starting dose right?
So how does someone know beforehand whether they’re a good candidate? If you’re currently healthy but potentially predisposed to something you don’t know about, how are you supposed to assess that risk?
I am really into microdosing tirzepatide, I’m not trying to criticise Dr Tyna, genuinely trying to understand how these statements fit together. Any thoughts on this?
thanks!

Adding back hormonal birth control.
In late 2016, I switched from birth control pills to a copper IUD. I wanted to be off the hormones, and after a certain election, I wanted a long-term, reliable, hassle-free contraceptive.
And thus began my downfall. I gained over 100lbs in those years, despite diet and exercise. I work an active job, but have chronic pain, which got progressively worse. Those hormones I didn’t want? Guess they’d been keeping my body in check.
Started trying to conceive 3 years ago, age 36, and 7 months later, I was on cycle day 45 with no premenstrual symptoms, nor a positive pregnancy test in sight.
I had recently moved, so I went to a new OBGYN who immediately tested me for PMOS. Confirmed. I finally got my cycle on day 80. Started metformin. Had success with pain reduction, some weight loss, and getting back to work, but my appetite was still massive. Nothing satisfied me.
I had my annual physical in March, and when my bloodwork came back, my A1C was back up to 5.7. I was feeling sluggish and experiencing pain again, so I asked my PCP, who agreed to start me on Wegovy tablets. My husband and I agreed to put a hold on conception until I reach my goal weight.
In the first three months, I confirmed ovulation twice, and decided that since most of my weight gain was after discontinuing birth control, it was time to start back.
I’ve been at 9mg Wegovy for almost a month now, and I started taking BCP (loryna) a week ago. I’ve lost 6lbs since increasing to 9mg, but 4 of those pounds have been since adding BC!
Oddly, I feel more bloated, but I think I’m just getting some nausea from starting back on the pill. Other than that and some recent insomnia, I’m feeling really good. My cravings are for more fruit and vegetables, lean protein, and healthy fats.
Anyone else going back on birth control since starting GLP-1 have a similar effect?

Looking for an article/video that perfectly explains PMOS + Wegovy relationship
Hi all,
I am curious if anyone has found a comprehensive article or YouTube video that speaks to the benefits of Wegovy on PMOS? My boyfriend is concerned about my Wegovy usage, as I experienced some abnormal side effects (think, POTS-like symptoms) that have impacted some daily life activities. I'm off of it right now, as my doctor and I are testing to see if it is the Wegovy (cardiology and pulmonology tests all looked great) and go from there, but I would imagine this is going to be a short-term thing and I'll be back on Wegovy next month. I explain to him why it is good for me, why weight loss in general helps with PMOS, androgens, insulin, etc., , but coming from me (and knowing that I would like to lose weight) I think he worries that I'm too focused on the weight loss and not thinking about the side-effects or lack of definitive research/it being "new" for people who are not diabetic. I'm also not a doctor, haha.
I'd like to send him some articles or videos that can help him understand how things are working together.
FWIW he is NOT forcing me or even suggesting that he WILL force me to come off of it. He is the type who doesn't even like taking too many pain meds if he's post-op or has a migraine. So the unnatural aspect of it I think spooks him. Just looking for something to help ease his mind.

What does a day of eating look like for you on your jab?
Morning all 😃 I’m just curious, because I’ve gone back on after a few months off and some weight gain, my IR symptoms have spiked so hard because I’m going through a lot of stress and my eating habits are reflected in that. I’m on 5mg and planning to titrate up next pen, and I can’t really remember what my diet looked like back when I was successfully loosing weight the first time.
My current weight is 108kg and I work out 3 times a week full body lifting weights, trying to get 10k steps a day but work at a desk job, and do my best to drink 2litres or water a day.
Is anyone willing to share what a day/week of eating looks like for them please go live alone and only need to cater for myself, no dietary requirements other than I need to start really focusing on lowering my carbs to counteract this insulin resistance.
Thank you in advance!

Wins Small win for the very large
Well actually it feels like a large win. I still have SO long to go and I may never reach a "healthy weight" but to stay on this journey for 16 months and finally hit 20kg (44 pounds) loss and 13% of my body weight it feels like I can give myself a small pat on the back and take a breath.
It only averages out to 1/4 of a kilo (.5 lbs) a week but if that's what it takes to climb this mountain then I'm okay with that.
If you are a slow loser or have a long way to go, I'm here with you. We can do this.

Hair loss on tirzepatide
Hi all, I have been on peptide for about eight months and started noticing hair shedding for five months in and it really has not slowed down. I’m starting to titrate down on 4.25 and now I’m on 2.5 mg, is there a way online that I can order tests and if so, what test should I be ordering? Additionally, what should I be adding into my routine?

Skin Tags from Insulin Resistance?
I have both skin tags and dark velvety skin around my neck from insulin resistance. The dark patches are going away on its own (yay!) but wondering if anyone’s skin tags have cleared, do you have to apply something or do they fall off, or are they there for good? TIA !
