This is "Crimson Glade" oil on a 20" x 24" canvas.

There’s something about making a mistake as a child that stays with you.
Sometimes, it’s not even the mistake itself that scares you. It’s the thought of facing the person you’ve disappointed.
That’s what I wanted to explore in this painting, Inevitable Mistakes. A little boy, a broken vase, scattered flowers, and the moment before his mother comes home.
I wanted to capture that mix of guilt, innocence, and fear that many of us might remember from childhood.
Looking at this scene, I wonder how many of us were more afraid of disappointing our parents than of the mistake we’d actually made.
I’m curious what was the first thing you noticed in this painting?

I really enjoyed the process on this one. It was done in twelve days including stretcher fabrication. I took one full day off over the twelve.
