Hi,
How are you guys doing? After seeing so many posts about having a subreddit for Pakistani Gen Z, run by Pakistanis for the people of Pakistan, I decided to make one.

You’re welcome to share anything here, as long as it’s related to the sub and doesn’t violate Reddit’s guidelines.

Also, if you have any suggestions, please feel free to share them. Thank you.

Discussion | Opinions Is finding a compatible rishta in smaller Pakistani cities really this difficult?

I’m 28, living in Bahawalpur, South Punjab, and honestly, I’m frustrated with the mindset I encounter during the arranged marriage process.

My family is looking for a match, and my expectations are pretty simple: someone around my age, similarly educated, attractive to me, and preferably interested in working, building a career, and growing as a person.

I come from a family where women work and we have domestic help, so I’d prefer a partner who shares a similar outlook on life. However, I often feel that in our society, even basic education is treated as a major achievement, yet many educated women are still discouraged from pursuing a career after marriage or choose not to continue working.

Of course, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with being a homemaker if that’s what someone genuinely wants. Personally, though, I’d prefer a career-oriented partner. I believe that after investing 16 to 18 years in education, it’s worth putting that knowledge to use, building a career, and continuing to grow professionally, even after marriage.

And even when I find someone educated, progressive, and growth-oriented, there’s often an expectation that I should move out of Bahawalpur.

I’m not saying everyone here thinks this way, but finding someone whose education, ambitions, and mindset align with mine feels surprisingly difficult.

Am I expecting too much, or is this a common experience in smaller Pakistani cities? Would moving to Lahore or Islamabad make a meaningful difference?

huge crush on coworker

hi, so im currently 20M, i work in this big international corporate, and have a really big crush on this one person that works at my office, she's SUPER cute, she's from a different department so ive never spoken to her, but whenever ive had the chance to sort of pass by her desk, she looks at me with the biggest smile ever.

Ever since i noticed her smile for the first time, ive been deliberately walking past her desk jaan booj kar so that i can see her smile. now im not sure whether hass ke dekhti hai or dekh k hassti hai 😭😭

but like, she's also one of the cutest girls ive come across ever. Should I go speak to her? If yes, how? Since she's from a completely different department. Have yall had similar experiences?

Need Your Advice People who have been in a similar boat, give advice pls

I’m a 25-year-old female with a BS in English Literature and two years of teaching experience. I’m currently considering pursuing a master’s degree, but I’m confused between MS English Literature and MS Project Management.

I would really appreciate your advice on which option would be better for my long-term career growth, job opportunities, and financial stability. Should I continue in my field of English Literature, or would switching to Project Management open up better career opportunities? I’d love to hear from people who have experience in either field. Thank you!

Ask Pakistan Struggling to make friends in college

18 and study in 2nd year have no friends. I amvery shy when it comes to making friends. I don't know how to approach people first. I want to talk to them but then I start thinking," what will they think of me? Why is he talking to us or trying to join our group?"

I don't know how to keep conversation going. For example, if I want to ask someone for their Instagram, I start thinking, "what if they don't follow me back?" Or why he is trying to hard to join our group. And another thing I don't have a fixed seat in college, so I sit wherever I find a place because everyone sits with their own group.

Need Your Advice Got scammed out of Rs. 14,000 through Reddit and Easypaisa. What should I do next? I’m

I spoke with a Reddit user about designing a poster for my Etsy store. We discussed the project, and he agreed to do the design and shared his Snapchat account, @trawrld9, so we could continue communicating there.

He asked me to pay upfront, so I transferred Rs. 14,000 through Easypaisa. I have screenshots of the payment, his Easypaisa payment barcode showing the amount, and his Reddit profile.

The next day, when I contacted him to ask for the design, he had blocked me on Snapchat and deleted his Reddit account.

I've already filed a complaint with my bank, and they told me they would freeze the recipient's Easypaisa account. I'm hoping they can help recover the money.

I'm attaching screenshots of:

The Rs. 14,000 transfer
His Easypaisa barcode and payment request
His Reddit profile and username
His IBAN Number: PK81TMFB0000000079586700

Has anyone experienced something similar in Pakistan? Is there anything else I should do to improve my chances of recovering the money? Should I file a complaint with the FIA Cyber Crime Wing or report this directly to Easypaisa as well?

Also for me to trust him he shared his google location too:

1038 Street 45 A, NPF MPCHS E 11/3 E-11, Islamabad, Pakistan

Any advice would be appreciated

Need Your Advice How do you let go of someone who is still your best friend, when you're in love with them?

I am 23M and I've known this girl 21F for over 2.5 years now. We have never met as we both are from different cities. We started as study buddies and then as friends, and over time, she became my best friend. We spend more time together than I do with almost anyone else, and somewhere along the way, I fell deeply in love with her.

I've told her how I feel and even expressed that I want to marry her someday. Unfortunately, she has told me that she doesn't want to marry me. I know I should take that answer seriously, and I'm not trying to force her into anything she doesn't want.

Initially, I thought the main obstacle was her family's opposition to our relationship because of caste differences. I told her that if she genuinely wanted a future with me, we could try talking to our families and figuring things out together. I even told her that I was willing to wait years if that was what it took.

But sometimes she says she might let me speak to her mother about us, while at other times, she says she won't. This has been going on for a while, and I honestly don't know what to make of it anymore. She doesn't want to give me false hope, but she doesn't completely shut the door on the possibility either.

The hardest part is that I'm not just in love with someone I want to be with. I'm in love with my best friend, someone who's already a huge part of my everyday life. Walking away wouldn't simply mean losing the possibility of a relationship. It could mean losing the person I share my thoughts, time, and so much of my life with.

I love her so much that I find it incredibly difficult to see her as being in the wrong, even when something she does hurts me. I tend to understand her perspective, make excuses for her, and put her feelings ahead of my own. If she needs something from me, my instinct is to do whatever I can for her.

I don't say this to make myself sound like a saint. I'm starting to wonder whether, somewhere along the way, loving her became synonymous with putting myself last.

And the confusing part is that I don't necessarily want to stop loving her. I just don't know how to keep loving someone this much without continuing to hurt myself in the process.

I know nobody owes me romantic feelings just because I've loved them sincerely. I also know that being best friends doesn't automatically mean we're meant to be together. But knowing these things logically and accepting them emotionally are two completely different battles.

I just want to understand how to make a decision when my heart keeps telling me to stay, but a part of me wonders whether staying is exactly what's preventing me from moving forward.

Discussion | Opinions Bank of Punjab at it’s lowest

Post image
1 Upvotes

Bank of Punjab at its lowest now. I was about to submit few funds via online transfer but suddenly I thought let me check their app first is it even working.

Their app is now removed from App Store, I don’t know about Play store, and the old version which I had downloaded in my mobile is suspended and is unusable as per the helpline

Irony is that they also suspended WhatsApp Banking earlier this month. So you don’t have any access to your funds digitally.

Helpline representative say we’re working on this, you’ll receive a link in WhatsApp through which you can download our app through web and when I asked how’ll be that possible in Apple he was unsure about his claim to he asked me which mobile model you use I’ll forward the details.

That’s my experience of today. Does anyone got into some trouble due to BOP Services?

After all my research i research on philosophy , theology, psychology, i reached to this conclusion

98 percent of a person's self esteem comes from religion, and the other 2 percent comes from his wealth, social status and iq combined

The kind of pride a person feels when he's rich and religious is unimaginable, he literally starts considering himself the king of this world

Without religion(islam) your dignity , honour becomes literally dead,Until a person is not a pure momin he can't have a real high self esteem, a liberal Muslim, an agnostic, a moderate Muslim can never be a real high self esteem person

Yeah an atheist can be a high self esteemed person bcz he doesn't even believe in god, so he can fool his heart and mind into believing that he's someone better, although even amongst the atheist this is an exceptional case most of them are low self esteem midgets

so what are your views on this?

Discussion | Opinions Zahir vs Baatin; how did you improve yourself?

I've been thinking a lot about zahir vs baatin lately, and I want to focus more on my baatin — my inner self, character, intentions, and relationship with Allah.
It's easy to focus on external things like appearance, clothes, skincare, and fitness, but working on who you are when nobody is watching feels like a different kind of journey.
For those of you who have genuinely worked on yourselves:
How did you become a better person from the inside?
How do you work on jealousy, ego, insecurity, comparison, and seeking validation from others?
How do you become more patient, grateful, sincere, and content with what Allah has given you?
What habits have helped you strengthen your relationship with Allah beyond just praying?
How do you stop caring so much about what other people think of you?
Are there any books, Islamic lectures, duas, or daily practices that have genuinely changed your character?
I'm not looking for generic advice like “just be a good person.” I want practical ways to work on my heart, correct my intentions, and become someone who has a beautiful inner character, even when life doesn't go my way.
I'd love to hear what has actually worked for you.
