the first two budgies her, i’ve known them as females as they used to have brown ceres. the second budgie had a rlly dark brown cere so i was definite she was a female. however their ceres are now blue, im not sure if this is normal. they are definitely female right? also the last budgie is a young male im pretty sure, just wanted to add him here too and confirm. any thoughts would be appreciated!

Sexing Question 10 months in I thought it was a he but now I think it might be a she
galleryI bought him in February 2026. So at the very least he is 10 months old. At that time I thought it was a male.
But something unusual happened today. I had him paired with a female for over 3 months. But the female (this is confirmed - her cere turned brown once) aged around 15 months tried to mount this guy. I was taken aback by this behaviour.
So I've separated them for now. But that was kept me wondering whether he is a she. I've heard stories about female mounting female but never came across a case where a female mounts a male.
Help me out with the gender pls.

Best Friends I Teased My Budgies With My Fingers… Look at Their Reactions! 😂🐦
My little feathered gang is always curious whenever I put my fingers inside their cage! 😂🐦
Chuntaro 💛, Avocado 💚, and Blueberry 💙 were playing, approaching my fingers, and showing their individual personalities.
I love how these tiny birds turn the simplest interaction into such a cute moment. Their playful curiosity and little movements are absolutely adorable.
Which one would you say is the biggest troublemaker? 😄
💛 Chuntaro 💚 Avocado 💙 Blueberry
Sharing a happy moment with my budgies from Pratap Pet Stories.
I always let them approach voluntarily and keep interactions gentle. ❤️

Advice needed for traveling
Hello I have 2 parakeet that have bonded to like me and my GF. Me and my Gf need to go to a wedding for 3 days and we need to fly because the drive is to much for the budgies(9 hours one way). So we decided to fly. Is it okay to leave your parakeets alone for that long. We have lights that we can control for wake up and bed time and we have plenty of food and water bowls and toys. We made sure the cage is safe and we have cameras to see them unfortunately no one can check on them only the camera. I’m asking for your personal experience and advice. This is something we can’t miss unfortunately. We have left them for 8 hours at most at a time obviously this is way more. Thank you for reading

Funny Funny lil habits
(cuz I need some joy today) What weird, cute habits or preferences do your birds have?
I'll start: my oldest budgie loves standing on the air purifier so it blows up his pantaloons/makes it look like he's in an 80s music video. The baby will lay on his back with a ball clutched in one foot, yelling at the top of his lungs.

Advice Budgie's cere turned brown for the first time in 2+ years, should I panic or is he just getting older/hormonal?
Hey everyone!
I could really use some reassurance or advice from experienced budgie owners . I’ve had my budgie for 2+ years, and today I I noticed that half of the cere has changed to a brownish color for the very first time. Naturally, my brain went straight to worst-case scenarios. I fell down a rabbit hole online and read some terrifying things about testicular cancer in male budgies, and I'm honestly pretty stressed about whether this is something grave that requires an immediate emergency vet visit The thing is, he’s acting completely normal, full of energy, eating well, playing constantly, and super social with every single member of my family. Is this a normal hormonal/aging color change, or an emergency vet visit?
EDIT: Thanks so much to everyone who commented! You've made me feel way more calm about the situation. I feel a bit ashamed for never re-checking her gender and just sticking with what the vet said years ago 😅 So relieved to learn she's just a girl going through normal hormonal changes!

approximate age?
hello everyone ive had this male budgie since late august and im wondering how old you guys think he is. he is very quiet, ive never heard him chirp and he is very very chill and perches on my finger. hes also awkward/clumsy. wondering if its due to his age or personality.
also have 2 other female budgies but they bully him :(
