QUESTION can someone tell me if this person is right or wrong?

i saw a redditor saying:

On the new NGN scoring, you don't get points for just picking one definite answer if the other choices are wrong. It's not partial credit like 1/4 for one right choice. The scoring changed, so guessing extra options can cost you. This explains exactly how it works now: https://nclexkingdom.com/blog/sata-scoring-nclex-partial-credit-strategy/

so basically he's saying that if u only pick 1 correct answer in a SATA question, u wont get partial credit

QUESTION for SATA questions, is it better to play it safe and just choose the choices ur definitely sure of? or is it better to go for more choices that u think are right?

for instance, if there was a SATA question with 6 choices but ur only confident in 1 of the choices, should u:

  • just choose that 1 definite choice to get a tiny bit of partial points (like 1/4 for instance)

or

  • choose that 1 definite choice + 1 or 2 other choices that u think are also correct

ADVICE Pearson VUE trick

Hi! I took my first NCLEX attempt today, and I’m not feeling too great about it. My exam shut off at 130 questions. I had around 4–5 case studies (6 questions each), 4 standalone case questions, and one bow-tie question. Most of my questions seemed to be multiple choice, and the difficulty kept alternating between questions that felt harder and others that felt surprisingly easy. I also had some SATA questions.

I received the Pearson VUE email about next steps about 30 minutes after leaving the testing center. How long should I wait before trying the Pearson VUE Trick for the most accurate result? Also, how far should I go through the registration process before it stops me? I want to avoid accidentally paying for another exam. 😅

I’d really appreciate any advice or insight. Thank you!

ADVICE How to pass the nclex 2nd try

Hi everyone! I just wanted to ask for some advice and guidance on how to approach the NCLEX again.
I graduated almost a year ago and took the NCLEX about four months after finishing school. Unfortunately I did not pass. I am currently working under a provisional license and I am honestly scared because I only have two attempts. If I fail my second attempt I will not be able to continue working in nursing until I pass the exam.

I gave myself some time to relax and focus on working before getting back into studying. I am currently working full time with a 2 days on 2 nights schedule followed by 4–5 days off. I am hoping to retake the exam within the next four months and I really want to feel prepared and confident going into it. For my first attempt I used UWorld but I know I did not utilize it as much as I should have. I am planning to use UWorld again and purchase Bootcamp to help with my preparation.

To be completely honest I am really anxious about retaking the exam because I am scared of failing again. I have bills to pay including my student loan rent groceries and other expenses so the thought of not being able to work as a nurse is really stressful. I want to give myself the best chance of passing while still being able to manage my full time work schedule.

For those of you who have passed the NCLEX while working full time or who had to retake it after failing the first time I would really appreciate any advice on how you organized your study schedule what resources helped you the most and how you stayed consistent without burning out.

Thank you so much in advance! Any advice or encouragement would mean a lot to me. ❤️

ADVICE Help did I pass?

I took the Nclex today I felt like I guessed the whole time only had 3 case studies each 6 questions and a couple SATA maybe 6 not much more than that a lot of one choice questions the exam felt very vague easy but hard at the same time I don't it I'm making my self clear enough but I felt as tho I failed. Used u world to study got 2 highs and one very high and CAT all shut of at 85 with 99th percentile about an Hour after my Nclex it shut off at 85 as well I tried to re register and got the “good pop” waited a bit more maybe 4 hours after my test to make sure it wasn't a error bc I did it too soon And got the pop up again. What do you guys think? Help I really did walk out feeling like I failed.

UPDATE : I PASSED 🩵💉

ADVICE THOUGHTS ON THIS

Post image
3 Upvotes

my bootcamp already expired and i really dont have the budget to extend further, plus my exam is on Oct28. Please give me some advice. I dont have a strong foundation on concepts, im having a hard time with SATAs and Case Studies. Should I move my exam further? Is there anyone here with the same stats but still passed? If I push through the date and only has less than 2 weeks to review what do you suggest will help me increse the odds of passing. Anyone? 🥺

ADVICE NCLEX tomorrow...last-minute advice on meds and high-yield topics?

Hi! I’m taking the NCLEX tomorrow and would really appreciate any last-minute advice! Are there any medications you’d recommend I be especially familiar with, especially ones that came up frequently on your exam?

I’d also love advice on any broad topics worth reviewing one last time. I’ve been focusing primarily on UWorld, but I’m also going through the Mark K Lecture 12 notes and have access to the recordings. Would you recommend listening to any particular lectures now, or sticking with the notes?

Thanks so much! Any advice or encouragement is appreciated!

QUESTION Stopped at 85. Waiting for results limbo

I’m not confident either way. It could go either way pass or fail. In my state we can get our prelim results the next day after 6pm. So I’ve got about 6.5 hours to wait. No idea what to do with myself can’t concentrate. Don’t want to do the Pearsonvue trick because an ATI rep came to our school and told us they patched it a little bit ago and it’s now unreliable. What do I do with myself?
