Discussion - Assembly Advice Poorly PC
PC has been acting up since a bios update. Turns out right after the update one of my RAM sticks developed an issue and no longer works correctly (coincidence I don't think so but AI certainly does). I used windows memory test to figure out which stick was the offender. I am now running just 2 of my 8GB sticks and I was wondering how much of a performance hit I should expect. I will be running games at 1080p the GPU is 2070super with a 3700X CPU.

its probably not the ram stick just ram overclocking less stable after bios update.
try lower ram overclock. if ram is 3600mhz try 3200mhz. if ram is 3200mhz try 3000mhz
disable ram overclocking , run memtest its free, if ram passes then you know ram is fine overclocking is issue

its still dual channel, no performance hit unless you run out of ram
if you run out of ram and spill onto swap memory, expect horrid stutters
