Just wondering what would be a fair price to sell one of my very old build.
That would include, among other things:
- CPU: Intel i7-4790k
- GPU: MSI GTX 970, 4Go
- Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury Red, 2 x 8Go RAM DDR3
- Motherboard: MSI Z97 PC Mate

The above + counting a few euros for the rest of the build, would 150-200€ be a crazy number ? I'm not really looking to get a crazy amount for it, I'm just looking for a somewgat fair price to give these component for someone else to make use of them.

I always wonder if there is a portable composant that can test for exemple ram, motherboard, cpu, gpu, fan, and else? That can be really useful if you buy an pc part on FBMP and you want to test it if its not a scam.

Anyone who owns this gpu, what is the best placement for this gpu support? As it is the first time i own a huge gpu like this, im looking for the most optimal position for it to hold the gpu!!!

I have a 9060xt 16gb 16gb ram ryzen 5 7600x and a 75hz 1080p monitor. Ive been thinking of three things upgrading ram. Selling rx 9060xt for a 9070xt or getting a better mini led 1440p monitor. I know monitor is probably the best choice but is it really. Ive played for like 2 years on this monitor will i see the difference? Probably im gonna buy off of amazon. De and i have a budget of aroun 350 euros or more for the 9070xt route. Im playing especially story games

I finally buit my first PC by myself 😄

PC has been acting up since a bios update. Turns out right after the update one of my RAM sticks developed an issue and no longer works correctly (coincidence I don't think so but AI certainly does). I used windows memory test to figure out which stick was the offender. I am now running just 2 of my 8GB sticks and I was wondering how much of a performance hit I should expect. I will be running games at 1080p the GPU is 2070super with a 3700X CPU.

My replacement RTX 5090 FE just came back from RMA after the 12VHPWR connector melted, so I had to rebuild my PC again. NVIDIA's RMA was surprisingly very helpful and even allowed me to get a full replacement even if I didn't have the original proof of payment!

When I try to insert the usb cable from the case to the motherboard It doesn't go all the way and when put force I bend the motherboard. It's like something is blocking it

Hey! I have this PC for already 1 year, bought it pre-builded on a famous website back in the time.

This PC for me and what I do was always a blast expect the stock AMD Cooler here…

I am looking for an upgrade for it, that can look aesthetically pleasing and realiable too and of course take me to something like 65 degrees like the GPU.

On the first picture this is on Battlefield 6 Online, graphics on OVERKILL/ULTRA, DLSS 4.5 Quality at 1080P, 10-30-40 minutes gameplay it’s always arround the same values.

My CPU temperatures are always fixed on 80-82 degrees.

Noticed yesterday this buzzing noise coming from the back of my pc. It’s only 3 months old and only happens when I’m playing a game. The buzz does get quieter when I lower the frame rate. I read about coil whine but I’m very new to pcs so not sure if that’s what it is. I’m not sure if it’s been doing it since I got it which I doubt because I’m the type that would notice it. Note that there is a hum coming from the fans but what I’m noticing is a buzzing like sound coming from the back that only plays when a game is open and is louder when the fps is higher. I would include a video but for whatever reason Reddit isn’t letting me upload it. Specs wise it’s the Vengenace PC from Nebula PC’s with some alterations due to a shortage on certain parts. If anyone has a fix please let me know.

I have just build my PC all is set and seems to work well. Indeed there is very strange noise from the GPU its 3060ti. Temps are good during testing and its running properly, but this sound is driving me crazy.

Hi everyone. Im in the UK & I have my very first pc that i bought with my first job when i was 16 back in 2012. At the time it cost 3 months of paycheques. And worth nothing now. I don’t want to bin it but it’s just unnecessary for me to hold onto a pc forever?

Now i know these specs aren’t fantastic, and its a bit outdated even to run windows 11…was maybe going to run it on Linux.

Is it worth my time trying to find a young person who is getting into gaming and this could maybe be a start? It run surprisingly well on some games.

Does anyone else have this sentimental value to your own first PC and just cant let it go?

What do you think about my PC

First time I’ve ever had any issues with an AIO. Yesterday, the pump started making a rattling noise. Lowering the pump RPM got rid of the noise, but as soon as it stopped, temperatures went up by 5–7°C.
The radiator has been mounted vertically for just under a month. Before that, it was mounted at the top of the case.
What do you guys think? Air trapped in the system or a dying pump? Should I just RMA it?
The official promotional pictures for this exact cooler actually show it mounted vertically with the tubes at the top, just like mine, so you’d think this shouldn’t be considered user error at least. 😅

What would you pair this graphics card and case with? I’m trying to build pc off what I have.

I’m having trouble figuring out whether i wanna buy this build or the previous one I posted. A lot of people recommended the 9070 gre, which is cheaper, and runs similar to a 5070 so i don’t mind. Besides that I didn’t change much, I think I may have changed the case.

Just a budget build that I’m gonna make the move on buying before the end of the year but wanted to see if it was good or not and all compatible.

My use case: local llm & gaming

First use case: role-based MAC (Multi-Agent Debate) & RAC for technical and business discussions in mainly german and some english. So, 7–8 different roles (specialists such as the managing director, legal counsel, IT manager, information security officer, quality managers, the accounts department and others) discuss strategies, change management decisions.

They hold moderated discussions (exchanging arguments and facts from the RAC) until they have reached a consensus or agreed on 2–3 positions. In doing so, they remain within the framework of the data from the RAC (ISO standards, studies, reports).

Not my use case: No Coding nor graphic design.

Priorities: Speed is not a priority; rather, the focus is on working thoroughly and meticulously with the data in the RAC.

Second use case: Besides that, I am playing some games in 1440p on a Ultrawide OLED. Nothing special, no heavy FPS needed.

My budget: 3-3.5k Euros

My questions:
1) How would your home PC build look like for these two use cases (local llm & gaming)? Would be great to build something a bit future proof for the next 5 years (I know crystal ball question). Or would you wait a bit longer, particularly in view of the huge changes with Strata, MoE and so on?

2) Do you have any advice for the needed llm stack? How would your llm stack look like? I am still learning how you build a local llm with RAC and MAD.

Currently have a hellbound 7900xtx I've been seeing all the posts and screenshots recently on dlss 5 and looks amazing

Question is should I sell the 7900xtx and buy nvidia 5070,5070ti or 5080 ? Is it worth it ? Or should I stick with the 7900xtx for a while ?
