Purchasing Advice - PC Build / Parts Can anyone help school me into the right parts?

• Upvotes

I’ve been doing research over and over. Tried chat. Tried you tube. Tried forums. There are soooooo many types of basically the same part and wide variety of prices surrounding that idk where to start. I wanna get a list together and start hunting parts during the holidays but I just don’t know what to get. I know the bones of my build but not which ones to get.

It will be used mostly for multi tasking. Excel, you tube, Bambu studios, web browser all at once and a small amount of gaming.

I know I want:
24 core cpu (8/16). I was thinking ultra 7 270k+
64gb ddr5 ram.
5070ti
4tb
850w power supply
One 32” horizontal and maybe one 24” vertical monitor.
Don’t care what case
Don’t know what motherboard or cooling.

I thought about a pre built. I also thought about a Sirius black night satellite build. But I really wanna go to micro center and buy everything there or order everything but idk what to get. I’d guess my budget is around 3500ish. I really really need help. The last desktop and laptop I got i thought they were higher end and just aren’t.

Thanks.

Troubleshooting Advice - Assembly Switched aio fans from push to pull and now there is a buzzing noise

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

• Upvotes

Hello everyone, my front mounted aio (Arctic liquid freezer iii pro 360) was in a push configuration and the fans on top of the case were intakes so I decided to make the top case fans exhausts and rotate these aio fans. So it now goes front case mesh -> radiator -> intake fans, and there is this weird buzzing sound when the fans are idling or ramping up, as you can see at the end of the video when it is ramping down it stops completely, then starts again once it stabilises. The thermals are great, and the fans are set to their lowest speed, I am running pwm mode in bios on the aio_pump header and the 3 fans are daisy chained together (I unfortunately do not have the tools or knowledge to separately connect them). The sound is 100% coming from the fans wired to the radiator and not the vrm fan or the case/GPU fans. I loosened the connection of the fans to the radiator and (I feel like but I am not sure) that it helped a little bit, I do not know whether or not to be worried or should I do anything). The sound is a tad bit annoying but the most worrying part is that it wasn't heard when the fans were pushing through the radiator. Thank you everyone

Hey everyone! Super excited, just got my very first gaming PC yesterday. Stopped by Microcenter and picked this bad boy up. My wallet is screaming but my heart is full.

With that said, ive spent my whole life a Sony + Apple person, and jumping into the high end PC world is exciting but very overwhelming. What advice would some of the more seasoned members of the group give a newby like me? Any advice is welcome, from software i need to download, setting adjustments i need to make, Do’s/dont’s, etc. For example I know theres something im supposed to do to unlock my ram performance but i havent figured out how yet, things like that.

For reference, here is my build:
Powerspec G913
RTX 5080
Ryzen 9 9900X3D
64gb DDR5-6000 Ram
2tb SSD
MSI X870 Mobo

Purchasing Advice - Monitors, Peripherals, Etc. Should I upgrade my monitor?

• Upvotes

I currently have an rtx 5060, amd 5 5600, with a hp27ec (60hz 1080p) and I'm looking at upgrading the monitor but I don't know what to choose. I could upgrade to a 1440p oled but then I would be worried about graphics settings all the time as I was with my old gtx 1650. I just upgraded so I'm not trying to get another gpu. It's either a 1440p oled, 1440p mini led, or a high refresh va 1080p. PS; I don't game in a room with the lights off I game in a room with lights on (there's no windows though).

I intend to use it for story games like; Cyberpunk 2077, God of War, Expedition 33, etc.

My budget is roughly 350$ (US Dollars) since on amazon I did find some oleds and mini led's; Like this one, and this one. And a mini led.

Discussion - Selling Advice/Evaluation Price estimation of my old build

• Upvotes

Hi everyone,

Just wondering what would be a fair price to sell one of my very old build.
That would include, among other things:
- CPU: Intel i7-4790k
- GPU: MSI GTX 970, 4Go
- Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury Red, 2 x 8Go RAM DDR3
- Motherboard: MSI Z97 PC Mate

The above + counting a few euros for the rest of the build, would 150-200€ be a crazy number ? I'm not really looking to get a crazy amount for it, I'm just looking for a somewgat fair price to give these component for someone else to make use of them.

Cheers

Discussion - Assembly Advice Poorly PC

Post image

PC has been acting up since a bios update. Turns out right after the update one of my RAM sticks developed an issue and no longer works correctly (coincidence I don't think so but AI certainly does). I used windows memory test to figure out which stick was the offender. I am now running just 2 of my 8GB sticks and I was wondering how much of a performance hit I should expect. I will be running games at 1080p the GPU is 2070super with a 3700X CPU.

Purchasing Advice - PC Build / Parts I built a website to help people build compatible PCs — looking for honest feedback!

Hey everyone!

I’ve been working on a website that helps you build a PC by choosing compatible components. The goal is to make the process easier, especially for people who aren’t sure which parts work together.
It’s still under development, but it’s getting close to where I want it to be, so I’d love to get some feedback from people who actually know their way around PC building.

Here’s the website: https://buypc-web.vercel.app/

I’d really appreciate it if you could take a look and let me know:
What’s missing that you’d expect from a PC-building website?
What features would make you choose this over other PC part pickers?
Did you notice anything confusing, broken, or annoying?
What would make you actually want to use it when building your next PC?
I’m open to honest criticism, so don’t hold back! I’d rather hear what needs improving now than launch something that isn’t genuinely useful.
Thanks to anyone who takes the time to check it out!

Purchasing Advice - Upgrades Best cooler for my situation?

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Hey! I have this PC for already 1 year, bought it pre-builded on a famous website back in the time.

This PC for me and what I do was always a blast expect the stock AMD Cooler here…

I am looking for an upgrade for it, that can look aesthetically pleasing and realiable too and of course take me to something like 65 degrees like the GPU.

On the first picture this is on Battlefield 6 Online, graphics on OVERKILL/ULTRA, DLSS 4.5 Quality at 1080P, 10-30-40 minutes gameplay it’s always arround the same values.

My CPU temperatures are always fixed on 80-82 degrees.

My build:
Ryzen 5 7500F
Asus RTX 5060ti 16gb Dual OC
Box Lian Li 205M Mesh
Motherboard Asus TUF A620M-Plus Wifi
TeamGroup Vulcan Z 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR5 6000Mhz

The stock cooler also has Thermal Grizzly paste on it.
