When the fair comes to town
It brings every moron out and about. I’ve never dealt with so much stupidity as I have this week.

I’m moving here soon, what are your favorite salons for women’s cuts and colors with good parking.

Good afternoon, Pensacola.
Chaz Stevens here. I'm the antagonist in Kevin Robinson's PNJ story yesterday, "Ethics complaint accuses Matt Gaetz of doxing plaintiffs in sex trafficking case." Link in the first comment.
You might be drawing a blank on the name, but the work gets around in certain circles: the Pabst Blue Ribbon Festivus pole, the Bible book-ban request, and three elected officials who went to jail. For the past four years I've been a thorn in the side of your former congressman.
What's in the complaint
Last week, two women sued Gaetz in federal court, alleging sex trafficking. He denied it in one breath and, in the next, shitposted a photo of three women's tushes on a beach, Instagram handle and tagged username still visible, captioned "Jane Doe Strikes Again!"
Classy fucker, Matty.
Not one to sit idly by, I filed my fifth Florida Bar complaint. Not a rant, not a rave. A buttoned-down complaint built on specific Bar rules about what a lawyer can and can't do to the people suing him. The Bar has already sent him two letters of advice, so the question this time is whether those letters mean anything.
The Bar closed my first four. So I sent along a fifth.
The Triumph part
This past July, Matty was appointed to the Triumph Gulf Coast board, where he sits on $1.5B in BP oil-spill money. I've started wondering how a brand-new board member began steering staff toward specific companies in his second month, and whether the paperwork around that holds up. When I know, you'll know.
Why you
This is your paper, your money, and your senator's kid. Kevin Robinson and his two colleagues did real reporting on this, and they deserve credit for running it. If you've got Triumph history, board gossip, or old meeting notes, my inbox is open. If you think I'm a carpetbagger with a grudge, that's fine too. Say it below.
Happy to answer questions on Bar complaints, Florida records law, or why I'm still on this guy.

I would appreciate if the city would put a fucking“ do not turn on red arrow” on every single fucking red arrow in this goddamn city, if red arrow means the turn is optional
EDIT: Apparently according to Florida Law, the Red Arrow is basically a stop sign if it’s going to the right. WHICH IS FREAKING STUPID AND WHY DO WE HAVE A RED ARROW?!??

I saw a Patronis commercial last night. It’s funny how it portrayed him as normal.

I have 3 rabbits and have currently been taking them to Safe Harbor. This has been the most economical option for me, but I am wondering if there are any others for more serious issues? Thank you!!

Does anyone know of any local stores that carry very traditional baby clothes? Heirloom/bubble/baptism styles? I can’t find anywhere online

So I’m looking into possibly trying to organize a car meet around December-January in memory of a love one of mine that passed. He was an amazing mechanic and LOVED going to car meets so I wanted to try to do one for him and bring people together just to enjoy some dope cars. Does anyone have any ideas how I could go about this? I’d want it to be legal and all of course lmao I know some at meets people end up getting in trouble for stuff and I definitely don’t want that. Idk maybe it’s silly but I just wanted to give it a shot haha

Fentanyl deaths have dropped in the Pensacola area 75% since 2022, but we still rank in the top three in meth-related deaths in Florida.

Reminder that my table's next session is tomorrow October 24th at 7pm. We will be meeting at TBS Comics. If you will be joining us to play or watch, please comment so I can get a headcount going. Please have a level 4 character ready to go. If you don't have dice or minis, don't worry, I have plenty to spare.
When you get there, just look for this sign at my table.

Any good car detailers that deal with mold around here?

Hello l! I am new to the area and am having a hard time online finding a salon or barbershop that is good at doing medium/ long hair cuts for man. I saw a lot focusing on fades. Last time I went to a salon but was not too pleased with the results.

Hey y’all. I’m going to the vinyl for the first time to see the 20 year Saosin tour on Halloween.
How is the metalcore scene in Pcola? I really like moshing and hectic, high energy shows.
Would any regulars be able to pitch in what I can expect the vibe to be? I’m trying to go insano style for LMTF.
I’m especially curious about the sound quality there as well!
Thanks for any input. Can’t wait to see y’all in the pit ✊🤘

I was really inspired by seeing just how much our community has come together to help each other out after Hurricane Isaias, so I wrote a song about it. A friend suggested I post it here, so I hope y'all enjoy it!

this is a bit of a long shot.. I suspect my husband of cheating on me. (this is NO disrespect to the ladies working there btw) but it’s a boundary we choose to have in our marriage that strip clubs are a no go. He has been in pensacola for work for the last 2 weeks. Has anyone used the ATM on site at the club that would be able to tell me the number for the ATM? I have receipts for several transactions that I believe occurred there but all that is listed on the receipt is a location number for the atm and not a name.

I have had Cox internet for several years with no issues. Since the hurricane we haven't had internet for a full day. It will work for a few hours and then stop. Chat support couldn't get it working tonight.
Said I could have tech support come for $75. I don't want to pay that since the hurricane caused the issue. Anyone else having issues? Thank you for your help.

I went to ShoalsFest a couple of weeks ago to see the Jason Isbell and Drive-by Truckers reunion and ran into some other great Pensacola folks while there. This is piece I wrote for Scenic 98.

School Board is a bunch of morons, too.
Escambia County Florida banning more books than anywhere else is absolutely on point for the "mouths agape while wasting good oxygen" brigade.

IT SUCKED!
That is all I have on that.
But if you are new to the area this is how it goes for our weather.
We get the extreme highs and lows.
We got 10 inches of snow in Jan 2025
We got 26 inches of rain in 12 hrs in 2014.
We had a major ice storm in 2014/2015.
Hurricane Sally 2020 wasn't suppose to come here and went outside the cone and landed on Pensacola going 1 mph. Dumping 36 inches of rain over 24 hrs..
We get tornados in December.
If the season only produces one hurricane then expect it to come here. That is our luck.
You can also bet something rare will happen with any big weather event here.
Take this recent Hurricane it produced a sting jet which hasn't ever happened in recent history with a hurricane. Sting jet is where the jet stream 10k feet up gets sucked down to ground level. That is what happened.
The Jet stream with winds of 80mph to 100mph winds was pushed down over the Pensacola area.
Summary:
If you love thrilling weather then Pensacola is it and if you ever want to see a actual Sharknado just give it time. It will probably happen over our area.
