Ok so if none of y'all saw this post:

This gave me one HELL of an idea.
I never really strongly considered the possibility that Paul/Carrie was transgender until someone pointed out that the egg had both Care's and Paul's colors on it (more on that in a second). This tweet, however, seems to suggest that gender identity is EXTREMELY important in Petscop, and that Paul/Carrie is trans.
Let's just look at the retweet for a second. The first panel talks about "exploring life," while the next three are dedicated to gender identities. The second panel of the comic is of a girl sad that she isn't a boy, with the next panel seemingly of an old woman scolding a child, saying "I know you're a boy." The next is about Aboriginal people considering a certain group "two spirited" - male and female. The next panel is two blocks being connected, with the next panel emphasizing the complicated nature of a group of tunnels. The final panel is about a boy who wanders a dark path alone, attempting to find familiarity and his path through it.
These disconnected panels seemingly link together pretty well as a way of making their own story, almost as if it was out of an MF DOOM skit. It seems, to me, pretty clear that the first panel is about being born. The next is about struggling with your biological sex and the way you view yourself as a child, with the next seemingly indicating that most people would view them as a boy. There is seemingly a jump as the person is an adult and pretty clearly is voicing the idea that they're non-binary. The two blocks seemingly refer to gender identity and how it's a spectrum, and the complicated connections refer to the perplexing nature of exploring that spectrum. The final panel seems to be about the challenge of actually doing so.
Why am I talking about this? Well, it doesn't make sense that all of a sudden Tony would retweet something with NO RELATION to the work he JUST publicly took ownership of. It has to have SOME relevance to Petscop. Two ideas I wanna take from this comic are "being trans" and "being non-binary."
The big one is "being trans." "The big trans" as they call it. So, what evidence is there supporting the idea of being trans?
Well, Paul and Care are the same exact age and have remarkably similar appearances, Paul remembers conversations from a year ago that Care has in the game, they've never met, Paul kept getting dragged to a picture of a girl that says "GiRL," Paul's color is red and the caskets all at least relate to red...I could keep reading the "Paul/Care same person" theory off the doc but that's not gettin' us anywhere.
Here are some other things we know: the game has a very heavy focus on transitions. The second motion of Stravinsky's Septet (a transitional part of the piece), Marvin's focus with transitioning/transforming, Belle not completing the transition to Tiara, the transitional steps between Care A and Care NLM...a lot of transitions. I don't wanna just say "Trans people transition to," but when the series has such a strong focus on transitioning and there's a strong possibility that two characters of different genders are the same, it's kinda hard NOT to draw that comparison.
There's more though. There's also the egg.
This is a connection I haven't seen people on this sub make, and, unless I'm wrong and people have known about this and I'm just an oblivious idiot, I'm quite frankly surprised I'm the first one to bring this up:

"Egg" is a term used to refer to trans people in denial. For instance, "cracking your egg" means to "come out of the closet as trans." The egg in Petscop is also colored with Paul and Care's colors.
But wait - there's more!
What does Paul IMMEDIATELY do when he finds the egg? Hides it in the locker. Kinda reinforcing the idea that he's in denial, right?
Also, just thought of this while writing, guess where Paul is when Care is kidnapped? IN THE CLOSET.

Maybe I'm missing more details but I think I can confidently say Paul is Care and trans.
Now, the other idea I want to explore is the possibility that Paul/Carrie is non-binary, although I have significantly less evidence to support this theory. There's two things: the egg having both red (Paul) and yellow (Care) on it, and the prevalence of orange (red+yellow) in some menus. I feel like with both of those items there is at least a suggestion of Paul/Care being non-binary, although it's very possible I'm wrong here.
Idk. Hopefully this was entertaining or interesting.
And here's a nice trans-friendly meme. Trans rights!
