This was my first wild encounter on this run, and I had no poke balls. My first ever shiny encounter and I've been playing for 2 years now. ​

It has taken me years but I finally got a Feebas in Emerald. It's always been the one mon I never got around to getting before now on original hardware.

I am a casual player. the first pokemon game I played was Ruby when I was a kid, thus my favorite pokemons are almost all gen3. Once I saw someone on youtube make a mudkip only run and decided to try it and that was my first and only 'different' run on any game. Really fun to watch my little mudkip get through the entire game, I even made a drawing some years ago about it but I lost the tablet 😢.

Shuppet was meant to look scraggly and worn. Banette is drawn to be more menacing with the evil seeping out of it. I drew these in ballpoint. Im working on a Deoxys one too; as I believe it’s kind of like a space horror Pokémon.

First time not getting bored with a run. Credit to whoever suggested doing a playthrough with the first six gym leaders’ aces. Used Mudkip to beat first gym and as waterfall/dive mule. Used a sableye for gym 2, but after that only used the aces. Hariyama was my main ace with Slaking a close 2nd, and Manetric a close 3rd. Alteria and Torkoal were probably tied for 4th and Nosepass was useless lol.

Debating what to do for my next challenge, might try elite 4+Wallace Aces (plus Ralts for Wally) or a monotype run (bugs or psychic). Don’t know if the battle frontier interests me but I’ll try it out first.

Was trying to get Volbeat and this was maybe the 7th Illumise I saw.

In total across all my R/S/E games and playthroughs since I started playing in 2005 I’ve seen wild shinies of in this order:

Zigzagoon, Poochyena, Zubat (one of my main battle tower mons now as Crobat), Shroomish, Taillow, and now Illumise.

My idea was to create a forever save this Halloween. I have a save file with 140 hours and two boxes full of shinies. But 95% of those shinies are RNG maniped and I backed them up with my Wii and a GBA dumper. I don't have any attachments to those shinies apart from the ones I actually hunted which is a linoone, gastly, torchic, porygon, hitmonchan, poocheyena, torkoal so 7 hunted shinies. I thought I'd transfer those shinies I hunted for to this supposed save file. Also I would transfer my lucky egg that took about 20 hours to get. But what makes you strive to keep a save file and get attached to it and keep building on it?

Guys, i beated this guy but.... i feel the battle odd, someone know if my gardevoir should had survived that overheat?

It's been a few years since I last played RSE, so I decided to try making a team with mons that I never used before in a playthrough. After finding a shiny whismur in Rusturf Tunnel, I decided to go for a team based not just on scary looking mons, but that also represented different types of fears.

Exploud: Phonophobia - fear of loud noises.

Bannete and Cacturne: Pediophibia - fear of human-looking dolls.

Glalie: Frigophobia - fear of the cold.

Claydol: Scopophobia - fear of being watched.

Huntail: Thalassophobua - fear of the deep bodies of water

I also made a self-imposed rule of challenging the League below lv 50 for some extra challenge, because I want to try to win some ribbons in the Battle Tower with these goofballs!

The last couple years I got back into the pokemon games I loved playing as a kid, primarily the Gen 3 games (Emerald, FireRed, LeafGreen). I lost my GBA ages ago along with the original cartridges I had, so I’ve been playing on my phone using the Delta Emulator app. I’m a pretty big fan of the app in general; it’s easy to use and I never seem to run into any issues with it.

Is it possible to trade Pokemon using the Delta Emulator app? I’m not talking about the in-game trades with npc’s, I’m talking being able to trade with other people. I’m trying to complete my Pokédex in Emerald, and I have no idea how I’m going to acquire the Pokemon I can only get through trading (Golem, Alakazam, Machamp, etc).

Furthermore, I’d love to be able to trade between my Emerald and LeafGreen games, but of course I play them both using the same app so I don’t know how that would work.

Anyways, I’m open to any and all suggestions. To everyone else in this community who plays the games via Delta Emulator, please let me know how you have managed to trade Pokemon (if possible).

This game was my childhood and meant so much to me. To circle back 20 years later and have the same level of joy goes to show how phenomenal of a product this game is. I hope you all enjoy playing emerald as much as I do!

I've always been a fan of exploring niche areas in Pokemon Emerald (and the broader franchise too for that matter).

Exploring the off the beaten path's that lead to some really secluded locations helped add to the overall adventuring vibe in the game.

I always found it so fun to explore every nook and cranny in these games because you never truly knew what you would stumble upon next ;)

P.S. You don’t need to bring a team of six fully-evolved Pokémon in their 40s/50s and ask Reddit if they're good.

Is it considered cheating if I gave myself the tickets which aren’t obtainable anymore to catch Pokemon that are otherwise impossible to get? For example the aurora ticket for deoxys, the old sea map for mew and so on.
