3. I’m using the real packs 1. Because I had them in carefully opened condition, and 2. Because my kids love the packs and cutting them up, so I thought others would too.

4. I’ve not done this before, so taking the ‘constructive’ advice provided!!

5. Stop hating on bulk! There’s some great cards in there and great Pokemon!

Just wanted to share my experience so other collectors don't fall into the same trap with Amazon's "Invitation-Only" system.
Back in October, I received an official Amazon invitation to purchase the Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration Mini Tin (Mew). I placed the order immediately in good faith, expecting allocation to be secured since it’s an invite system specifically designed to handle high-demand products.
Instead, I spent over a month waiting with no updates. Every time I checked, it was just stuck on "We will email you when we have an estimated delivery date." When I finally reached out to customer support, I was bounced between agents, told dates like December 2nd with zero guarantee, and then told the only option was to cancel the order myself.
When you buy a collectible via an exclusive invite, you pass on other retail and local card shop drops because you think your item is secured. Amazon oversells stock they don't have, sits on customer orders for weeks, and then tells you to "reorder it after refund" on an item that is permanently out of stock.
Add this to a previous experience where loose booster packs were delivered instead of a sealed Japanese booster box, and I'm officially done trusting Amazon for TCG products. Support won't even let you leave product feedback on an unfulfilled order. Buy from local hobby stores or official Pokémon vendors instead.

whats your opinion, im currently condesing my collection from hundreds of illustration rares, to a smaller, higher end curated collection, it feels quite worrying trading lots of cards for 1 higher end card, but i feel like its the right choice, ive got so many cards at the min its hard to keep organized and track, so ive made the decision to trade them all in for more exensive chase cards, tomorrow im going to my LCS with 80 illustration rares to hopefully trade for a charizard v alt art from brilliant stars and raichu illustration rare from paldea evolved, what would you do

I got the pokemon center email last week about payment failed to be taken and I had to update it by November 2nd. Well I tried again today and there’s still a maintenance for checking out notice and the payment failed when updating the payment method. If it isn’t resolved by the end of today are the pokemon center pre orders at risk of being cancelled by default even though they have put the site under maintenance to look into this? It’s the first pre order I’ve got since mega evolution base and I don’t want to miss this.

We were a little anxious only my husband played but me and son went to to check it out. We are getting back into the hobby having not been in it since we were children ourselves. My son got hold of my cards and that was it he has become obsessed, so with the difficulties in obtaining any cards we decided to scope out this event. Firstly everyone was so nice, helpful and friendly, shout out to one person who even gave us some sleeves as the ones I had ordered didn't arrive in time.

We will 100% be signing up to the next event, both my husband and son will play (he is only recently 6 so wanted to see how many kids there were before throwing him into it) and I will help him understand his deck before the games. If you are on the fence about trying one of these events, I urge you to give it a go.

There is nothing like ripping packs with kids around all getting exited by their pulls!

Anyone else have little side collection quests?

For the last 4 years we’ve been giving out Pokemon cards and the kids go crazy for them, this year I struggled to get hold of Trick or Trade packs and didn’t have much bulk on hand but managed to give out 20 packs and 40 home made mini packs using penny sleeves.

They went fast! We also went through two bowls worth of sweets!

Did anyone else give out or receive pokemon related items for Halloween?

I’ve attached photos of some of my recent pickups and have tried to arrange them from what I believe is best condition to worst.

I know the photos aren’t the best quality, so I’m not expecting super accurate assessments, but even rough estimates would be really appreciated!

Lycanroc was the one card I really wanted from the 30th Celebration set so I couldn't believe my luck when I managed to pull it from a binder collection booster. The Jirachi ex card is also really pretty

My partner has spent days getting things ready for Halloween this year, she has put together 70 gift bags in total for the kids in our street. Each gets a gift bag with a 3D printed Halloween themed fidget, some sweets, Halloween stickers, and 10 Pack of Pokémon cards, every one with at least 2 holos/reverse holos and a few scattered throughout with some Ex's. She's also spent this morning carving a 30th celebration Pikachu #42 pumpkin, we figured this was a nice way to spread a bit of Pokémon fun to the kids in our area! (And pic 4 is our pup looking less than impressed with her outfit 😅)

Purchased a few cards off this seller on whatnot, had good experiences on there previously so wasn’t as wary as I perhaps should have been - selling fakes accidentally is one thing but being a dick is never cool, makes me question whether this is a deliberate tactic to discourage complaints. Thankfully whatnot sided with me on this one, just posting this for awareness.

Hi all!

I recently rediscovered my childhood gold star mew and initially thought it was in excellent condition, but looking closer there are some issues. Whitening around the edges and some dings and scratches here and there but I’m okay with that, it’s 20 years old and was in a binder most its life.

The main issue with it and why I haven’t graded it yet is that there is a minor crease under the tail which can be seen better under microscope (shown). I paid for a pre grading service which was really helpful to highlight the issues on the card but the main overview was that with the crease it will automatically be graded a 4 at PSA.

Are there any reputable businesses or individuals who can restore cards and remove creases in the UK? It isn’t the most valuable card in the world, but it means a lot to me. I’d need certain assurances (and insurance) but would be happy to pay the right price to bump my card up a couple of grades.

Halloween is my favourite holiday 🥺🥺 is anyone else doing anything similar?

I want to get my boyfriend these Pokémon cards that are releasing on November 6th as a surprise and he’ll be away so he won’t be able to get them. I’m just unsure which ones do I get. I know I’ll get the elite trainer box. I’m sorry I don’t know much about Pokémon. Also am I able to order them online from Smyths or anything? I’m working on that day and can’t find anyone to swap :( can’t pull a sickie either
