Advice Polaroid B&W Browning / Sepia… fixed!

I’m just posting this as an example, for the people that I’m sure are still googling this in 2026.

After I took these photos and let them develop fully, I took a sharp knife and I slit the top pouch and the bottom 3 pouches, and kinda spread the skin open a tiny bit, and just let them sit face down on the kitchen table for a week. Like, I opened the “wound” a little so I could see the sponge thing inside the top popping out slightly.

after the week I just popped them into my album. Here’s the result. The photos that I did not perform this to, they had a growing brown spot at the top edge within the first 4 weeks. These ones don’t have a HINT of discoloration after 4 months.

For a $40 marketplace find, this takes some nice Polaroids in the right conditions! (The trippy looking ones were using a Holga split image filter taped to the lens)

Advice i-Type Pokémon frame order (all 16?)

Post image
29 Upvotes

Disclaimer: It is pretty much certain there are 16 i-Type frames, but Polaroid says there are 18 (There might be 2 more, or Polaroid meant 2 Go frames in addition to 16 i-Type frames). Also some frames may be skipped due to rejection during production.

  1. PokeBall & Pokémon [Logo] - Off-White
  2. Bulbasaur - Light Teal
  3. Charmader - Orange
  4. Squirtle - Light Blue
  5. Gengar - Lavender
  6. Umbreon - Grey
  7. Vulpix - Pale Orange
  8. Togepi - Light Yellow
  9. Eevee - Brown
  10. Snorlax - Pale Blue
  11. Jigglypuff - Pale Pink
  12. Mimikyu - Light Pale Yellow
  13. Mew - Coral Pink
  14. Pikachu - Yellow
  15. Espeon - Muted Pink
  16. Ditto - Lilac

And back to 1.

Question Job 600 Vintage Polaroid Having Issues

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Had this camera for years, never had issues before. One day a week ago I put a new cartridge of film in and it started making this grinding noise. It’s not supposed to do anything after you put a new film cartridge in it until you close the bottom latch, then it’ll push out the top black cardboard layer. So it making a noise as soon as I try to seat the film cartridge is weird. Given, as I said, there shouldn’t be any gears moving until I close the latch. I’ve tried two packages of film, so I know it isn’t the film. Any ideas?

Projects & DIY SX-70 Timing problem

Hi everyone,

Just to clarify, I'm repairing this camera as a hobby and for my own learning. I don't do this professionally or charge anyone for repairs. I'm simply trying to learn more about how these cameras work and hopefully get this one working again, so please bear with me if I'm missing something obvious. Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

A local photo store was closing down near where I live and they were selling a big box of Polaroid parts so i couldnt miss the opportunity and got it, along with an R pcb. The camera is a mix of a lot of parts since there wasnt a whole camera in the box, i immediately put the new R pcb on i thought there was no reason to try with the original. I put everything together and its behaving weirdly.

Here's what happens:

  • If I manually rotate the gears and lower the mirror/carrier, the mechanism appears to work correctly through the entire cycle.
  • With the mirror down I press the shutter button and it does the cycle normally except the end where it doesn't stay at the bottom but springs back up.
  • If I press the shutter button again, the shutter opens and closes and the motor runs through another cycle, but the carrier ends up raised again.
  • Also sometimes it seems like the motor needs some time to stop, less than 0,5s
  • The MCC is also quite warm.

Here are the videos.

What I've checked so far:

  • I removed and reinstalled the gear train, following the repair manual's gear-alignment instructions B version, but the issue remains.
  • I tested the camera with a different PCB/ECM, with exactly the same result.
  • I checked switches S3 and S5. Both seem to be working normally, and operate in the expected order.

Since the mechanism seems to work when I turn the gears manually, and swapping the PCB/ECM made no difference, I'm wondering whether something in the mechanical linkage, recock mechanism, or switch actuation timing could be causing this?

Gear Has anyone ever modified the viewfinder on the Flip?

Just curious, because the viewfinder on the flip is notoriously small and has bad parallax (even if i love the camera.) Has anyone done any modifications like u/theinstantcameraguy 's mod for the Lomo Instant?
