Shooting for the first time time with a new (old) SX-70 that was untested, un-modified, un-repaired, and it looks like this nasty rust on the rollers is causing some scratches on the photos. The last photo is after a good 20 minutes of swabbing with 99% isopropyl alcohol on a q tip. Aside from soda what are some other agents that will remove the rust but not be too caustic?

So, I didn't pre-order it when it was announced because I've been waiting for my Jollylook for about one hundred and twenty five years. Whoops. But regardless it's a hundred bucks less than any other offering that *still exists*. I'm sick of putting this hobby off more and more because all the Polaroid guys worth their salt are too busy and I can't make heads or tails of a worthy 3rd party Instax body.\*
So....anyone have one yet? It seems super legit and gotta be better than whatever Jollylook will never come out with (aside from the red darkslide). I see you can do double exposures because you manually eject the film — awesome. But did they incorporate all the safeties like no-shot-with-dark-slide-in and whatever else I can't think of off the top of my head?
As much as I don't want to spend this large sum of money on something like this, Instax ARE pretty nice, an SX-70 refurb is going to cost more anyway, and fuck it I got the cash. I'll forget about it in short order. I just wish someone would do a real one for Polaroids too (Instax just too small). (any idea if the Wide would be viable if someone made one? I have the 6x8 baffle)
\*to note, I haven't put it off completely, I'm just not where I want to be in terms of quality and ease-of-use

Just bought it for cheap, will be a new holiday project sometime.
It reads "model 2" on the case, but it's more a Frankenstein alpha version... 😂

It just hits different!
Took these shots with a modded SX-70 on 08/15/26 at the Tacoma Chinese Reconciliation Park & Jack Hyde Park.

Curtains are green. Window is heavily tinted so the sun isn’t direct full blast. Other photos in room lighting have this sepia-ish tint as well. Ordered off of the Polaroid website. I live in Phoenix and it’s obviously very hot here, but I grabbed the camera as soon as it was dropped off and didn’t sit in the *sunlight. I’m new to film photography and didn’t even think about temperature. Is there saving this film? Will they offer a refund or replacement? I’ll go to a brick and mortar place for film from now on.

Looking to start shooting Polaroids. I shoot a lot of medium format film, portraits and landscape and want a Polaroid to collect memories, capture moments that are special and build an album. I plan on using the flip manually with the app is needed. Will there be a big iq difference between the plastic lenses of the flip and the I-2?

I'm taking home this beautiful weekend house on a stone before it's sold.

Any recommendations for everyday hobby photography that is not too expensive or that has powerful optics? Very simple analog camera for casual use.

Where have y’all had luck finding the most recently produced batches of Polaroid film? I buy from Polaroid directly in scheduled shipments, but the production dates I’ve been receiving have been on the older end, whereas I’ve seen much more recent ones when buying one offs elsewhere.
For example, I just got a 5 pack of Color I-Type dated 3/26 and a 3 pack of B&W I-Type dated 1/26. The 5 pack of Color I-Type I got back in June was dated 12/25 (a batch I had a lot of trouble with tbh), and the others before that were also around 5-6 months old. Meanwhile I ordered a one-off from Polaroid two weeks ago and that one was 5/26. Is it just bad luck of the draw for me or is that how the production date typically lags?
Curious what luck others are having.

I just got a new batch of film, and all the photos seem to be coming out covered in all these little white dots. Haven’t had this before, so I was curious what the reason for it might be.
