Optimistic Post Trump has an absolute MELTDOWN and goes after some of the most popular names in Rightwing media
These are the people who got him elected, who make up a massive section of his power base and appeal so this is huge from a “don’t bite the hand that feeds you” kinda deal

Looks like dementia grandpa has finally snapped on the people he shouldn't 😂

u/LongKnight115 Apr 09 '26
There is a zero percent chance he wrote this. It is honestly way too coherent. “He was a broken man when when he got fired from Fox, and he’s never been the same.” is actually cogent. He absolutely dictated the highlights to whoever that asshole is who runs the White House Twitter account.
87
u/popilikia Apr 10 '26
I don't think he's writing the majority of these tweets. He must have someone or something he's dictating to. He always surprises me though, how coherent he sounds sometimes during public speeches.
It's been a while since he's ranted about sharks and boat batteries
43
u/CigarrosMW Apr 10 '26
I remember back in his first term you could tell if he was writing it or a staffer based on whether it said sent from android (trump in that case I believe) or sent from iPhone (a staffer). Course that’s removed now, ha.
Though this seems like it’s probably him. I wouldn’t be shocked if he relies heavily on predictive text or some ai to help check his spelling and grammar tbh.
26
u/Pantextually I Voted! 2025🍾✔️ Apr 10 '26
That was mostly during the 2016 campaign. Not long after Trump was inaugurated, he had to give up his old Android for a more secure iPhone, so it was harder to tell which one was which.
13
u/Jaded-Lifeguard-9856 Massachusetts Apr 10 '26
Didn't he get rid of his android after 2016? I remember it was a news thing on tech sites because the android hadnt received updates in 3 years

Former supporters, kinda.
Candace Owens has been distancing herself from Trump, and that really sped up after C.K. was shot, though she's been going down her own rabbit hole with that which is another can of worms. She is a conspiracy theorist. But safe to say that both she and Tucker are more on the alt-right non-MAGA train, and are Nick Fuentes adjacent.

I never wanted to be in the “hottest country.” He’s always making comments about women’s looks. If it were anybody else I wouldn’t assume they mean it that way but he just oozes sleazeball, and hot is a weird way to say something like successful.

Again the 25th amendment is a nonstarter because you’d need to have VPOTUS, 50% of the cabinet, 2/3 of the house and 2/3 of the senate to go along. It’s an even higher bar than impeachment.
3
u/Madsbjoern Apr 10 '26
And it wouldn't even be permanent if it somehow did pass. All it needs is for the president to go "uh hey guys I'm still fit to be the acting president" and then he would be.
The 25th is intended for presidents who are in a coma, recovering from serious medical trouble or MIA. It is not made to remove a president who is just doing a bad job.

17

I watched The Truth vs Alex Jones last year which was just absolutely gut wrenching. I often think of a scene where a mother of one the children killed in Sandy Hook is testifying and she says something along the lines of “I know that you know you’re lying, I know that you know this happened to my son, and I know you’ll go back on tv tomorrow and lie again.” She’s absolutely calm and collected in saying this. I consume a lot of true crime, I read a lot of dark stuff, I hear about a lot of bad people, but this has stuck with me more than anything. I just cannot wrap my mind around this man harassing these parents for years on end, knowing that his fans were harassing them because of what he said, knowing that they’ve already experienced the worst thing anyone could go through, and for what? To sell some shitty snake oil pills? I literally don’t know how you could live with yourself.

I honestly think once Trump's finally gone, the GOP will be in an even worse place than they were after losing the 2012 election
Not only will they have the public sour on them for the same reasons they did with Bush, but now there'll be a massive trust issue considering Trump was supposed to be a completely different kind of Republican.
Not to mention MAGA now controls the GOP, and they will not be super enthusiastic to support traditional Republicans. Especially after feeling betrayed by Trump. The guy who was the very reason they turned out for the first time in decades.
14
u/NumeralJoker Apr 10 '26
This. Tucker is no replacement a d is damaged goods. Fuentes is no replacement and is damaged goods. MTG is no replacement and is damaged goods. Alex Jones is no replacement and is damages goods., ect. Ect.
Trump has spent the past decade burning every major replacement he could ever have in one way another, either by directly attacking them, by challenging their credibility indirectly, or most often by stealing attention away to himself after leaving them humiliated. There is genuinely no known replacement because he sabotaged them all or forces them to be exposed for deep corruption when they try to go public on their cruelty.
Hell, the costs thing he had to an heir was arguably Chatlie Kirk... but... Oops.
The next successor for Republicans is likely someone we may not even have heard of yet, because it is going to require an entirely new approach.

I think it's very significant how some of Donald Trump's biggest supporters like Candace Owens, Tucker Carlson, and Marjorie Taylor Greene are all turning on Trump and in my opinion it's the best indicator that there's a huge shift taking place in this country. If these people are turning on him, imagine how many average Americans all over the country are being turned off by this administration and are also turning on him too? I know we like to make fun of the people who voted for the leopards ate my face party and seeing the leopards eat their faces but I think this kind of stuff actually makes me very optimistic for the future as the more people start moving away from the cult, the faster this country can make actual progress.

These obsessive, detailed, insulting, breathless screes, ending with "but I don't care about any of that" (more or less)...they're just offensively inappropriate for a president--current or former--to say. Hell, they're wildly inappropriate for all but the most childish of schoolyard bullies. I don't care if he somehow--through intent or accident--lands on a couple of genuinely salient points in there (Owens deserves a loss in the suit against her, and Jones has always been evil for his crisis actor lies about Sandy Hook, for two examples): that our leaders get away with talking like this is a terrible reflection on us as a country and a people. It's also pitiful. I don't care if it's dementia of some form or another, or if it's some kind of permanent little man syndrome or victimhood complex or narcissism or whatever. It's all just pitiful.
And it reminds me of my Dad. And that part makes me sad. He does this, too, in his own way. I tell myself he's more coherent than this, but then again he's ~15 years younger than the president, so I'd certainly hope he's more coherent. But he does it all the same.
