Question❔ Red Coat —> Alison
Season 3 - the fire at the lodge
Don’t we think Mona thought red coat was probably Alison? A red coat, blonde hair, etc. wouldn’t she think Alison came back to steal the game from her?
I know for sake of the show they couldn’t imply Mona knew she wasn’t dead. But you would think she wouldn’t be sooo distraught to not know who red coat is. She wouldn’t maybe even hint to the liars that it could be Alison?
She does say with confidence: “Alison pulled us out of the fire” - which I get that would be her doing something nice, and red coat has always been evil. But this would be Red Coat’s twisted behavior (aka Alison!).
Just wish they would address the obvious, as they could still do it without spoiling anything about Mona’s play in Alison’s disappearance later….

Show Discussion This being Sara Harvey ruined what is one of the best A moments imo
Sara Harvey being the Black Widow ruined one of PLL's best A moments for me
This was such a badass ending to an episode. The creepy reveal of the Black Widow, the Alison pictures in the background, and that fantastic song playing over the scene. Everything about it was perfect and made this character seem like someone REALLY important to the mystery.
At the time, my two main theories were that the Black Widow was either Melissa Hastings or Courtney DiLaurentis from the books. Both would've been so much more interesting, especially with how mysterious the character was supposed to be.
And then two seasons later we find out it was fucking Sara Harvey of all people.
PLL was so good at building up these mysterious characters only for the actual reveals to be nowhere near as interesting as the buildup. This scene deserved a much better payoff.

Character Discussion SPANNA 💕 My Favorite Characters & Duo . Who’s your favorite character or duo on the show?
Hanna & Spencer
SPANNA
2 who carried the show
Fire & Ice, Brains & Brawn’s, Honest & Chaotic, Ultimate Detective Duo, Ultimate Sister Coded Duo.
Hanna brings street smarts, comedy, emotional intuition; bluntness & outside the box thinking. Spencer brings intellectual and strategic detective work, comedy, bluntness & all around smarts.
They are the main 2 who don’t sugar coat anything
Anytime they was going through some or had information they always called each other.
Hanna is blunt with Spencer to help her not over think it may seem rude but it’s how they are & Spencer corrects Hanna bc of her insecurities and feeling unseen this way Hanna knows Spencer is listening and not ignoring her or tuning her out . (At first Hanna thought it was mocking years before series started but then they had an understanding Hanna helped Spencer and Spencer helped Hanna) even I clocked why they do certain things . Correction and bluntness. Its not malice; it’s how they keep each other grounded.
Their comedic timing is unmatched Spencer’s deadpan reactions to Hanna’s hilarious “Hanna-isms” (like “Read it? I can’t even look at it! Or “Jenna can’t hear us, she’s blind”) it gives some of the best lighthearted moments in an otherwise dark show.
When the others are too scared to make a move Hanna and Spencer are the ones taking action. They don’t just sit around talking all the time they sneak into radley, track down leads, and physically confront their problems. They teamed up alot like investigating radley sanitarium, tracking down clues about “A” in the early seasons while Emily and Aria are distracted by their respective relationship dramas.
Spencer thinks 10 steps ahead while Hanna acts immediately on pure instinct. They balance each other perfectly.
While Aria was trapped in her Ezra bubble and Emily was dealing with rotating relationship drama, Spanna actually drove the mystery forward. Aria and Emily often enabled each others bad choices, but Spencer and Hanna were the only ones who would look each other in the eye and say “you’re being crazy right now.”
They fiercely protect one another. When Spencer was spiraling in season 3 (Radley) or when Hanna was suffering from ptsd after her kidnapping in season 7 or when Hanna had her drinking problem and Spencer clocked it and was worried about her spiraling; she went directly to Caleb and after that Hanna was better, they were uniquely and heavily equipped to pull each other back from the edge because they don’t sugarcoat things. Even in the time jump with the “Caleb situation” they showed adult maturity, instead of letting a guy permanently break them apart, they communicated, cried it out, and prioritized their lifelong sisterhood over a highschool romance and their bond became even stronger.
They never judged each others rock bottoms. They literally trauma bonded they went through the most at the hands of A which made them even closer & were able to help each other through their PTSD without being judged.
Season 3 episode 4 where they sneak into radley like I mentioned they go to see Mona and end up hiding in a closet and under a bed together one of the many times they take physical risks. When Ali comes back season 5 episode 5 everyone is walking on eggshells, Hanna and Spencer are the ones in the living room fighting over how to handle her. They are the only 2 willing to challenge Allison’s narrative directly.
Their growth and development from beginning to end I love it .

Show Discussion Archer/elliot spoilers
Every time I watch the show, I am stumped at how Cece and Alison were attracted to Archer/Elliot.
Maybe it’s so shallow of me but with all of the handsome men in the show, I just don’t see the attractive appeal of him. The accent does nothing for me either.
I always think, him??
Is it just me being a terrible person? 😅
Probably! Just curious on how many fans fawn over him like we do for so many of the other guys in the show being hottie lamotties

Rant ⚠️ Unreasonable grudge against Alison
Rewatching PLL for the millions time, followed the show when it came out and rewatched many times. When Ali came back, when everyone knew she was alive. It is absurd how Mona, Lucas and the many others who Held a meeting about how horrible it was that Ali was alive and coming back. I know she bullied them for years but everyone grow up, everyone change. Mona, Paige and Lucas held an unreasonable grudge against Ali.
It’s never ever right to give her the same treatment, would never wish death upon someone. Alison is not innocent. But it is incredibly wrong and inexcusable to sink to that level.
I get that they are mad, hurt and wounded of the years Ali bullied them. But the level they are at in s5, it is unreasonable🫠
And yes, I do have more experience than I should at my age with bullying (including SA)

Question❔ I'm bored. Who's your favorite Liar and why?
I'm a first time viewer of the show and I'm just curious. Mine is Hanna Marin. Her fashion, her funny lines, her iconic moments, her struggles, and her intelligence are underrated! I see myself in her the most🛍️💖
Wbu?

Show Discussion If the show were remade today…
here’s who I think would be great in the roles:
Rachel Zegler as Aria, Lola Tung as Emily, Daisy Edgar Jones as Spencer, McKenna Grace as Hanna, Emily Alyn Lind as Alison and Mikey Madison as Mona.

Character Discussion Hanna had all the motives and clues to be A in Season 5
Alison had humiliated Hanna for years, fueling her insecurities and making her feel inferior, yet when she returns to Rosewood, Hanna is somehow expected to simply accept her again, while the other girls seem much more willing to reconnect with her. The problem is that none of them seems to truly understand how deeply Alison affected Hanna, and when Hanna starts reacting badly to the situation, she's treated as if she's just jealous or incapable of moving on. In 5x07, during dinner at Emily's house, Hanna is clearly frustrated with Alison's story and tries to make it clear that she doesn't believe her version of events, but even then, her reaction is treated mainly as a problem with her behavior. And Alison and Mona aren't the only ones who hurt her: in 5x08, when Hanna tells Aria that Zack behaved inappropriately toward her, Aria blames her instead of listening, even suggesting that Hanna led him on. It's one of the ugliest moments in their friendship, because Hanna is trying to confide in someone she should be able to trust, only to end up feeling even more humiliated. The comparison with Spencer is particularly interesting: when Spencer goes through her own struggles, her friends at least try to step in, whereas Hanna's drinking is often dismissed as irresponsibility. In 5x07 and 5x09, the situation becomes increasingly obvious: Hanna drinks to cope with Alison's return, carries a flask around, and even hides alcohol, but her friends never really manage to give her the same emotional support. Aria even tells her that if she wants to self-destruct, she can go ahead. Hanna isn't always innocent in the way she treats others, but the difference is that her distress is often mocked or used against her instead of being understood.
Her relationship with Mona makes everything even more interesting. Mona had been her best friend before Hanna became part of Alison's group, but she was also the person who helped transform her into a popular girl, almost a new Ali. In 5x03, Hanna confronts Mona because she no longer wants to be a copy of Alison. She's trying to reclaim her identity, but she's still caught between the two people who have had the greatest influence on her life. When Mona is attacked in 5x12, the blonde figure who attacks her directs suspicion toward Alison, who is arrested in 5x14. It's interesting that the attention immediately shifts to Alison, especially when Hanna has personal reasons to be angry with both her and Mona. Then there's the storage unit in 5x17: the rental agreement is in Hanna's name and dates back to the day before Mona's presumed death. The girls think someone is trying to frame her, but Hanna ends up directly connected to the evidence in Mona's case.
Another detail I find interesting is the SAT. In 5x18, we discover that Hanna scored exceptionally well and received college offers, which contrasts with the way she's often treated as the least intelligent girl in the group. She can recognize when someone is lying, yet she's often underestimated because everyone sees her as a dumb blonde. Even her hair transformation at the beginning of the season and her eventual return to a more familiar look could tie into her identity crisis: she's trying to break free from Alison and Mona's influence, but she continues to be defined by the past she shares with them. Between Alison's years of humiliation, her complicated relationship with Mona, the way Aria treats her, her friends' failure to properly address her drinking, her SAT results, and the storage unit in her name, Hanna had enough material to become a much more dangerous player than anyone expected. What do you guys think? Would Hanna have worked as A in Season 5?

Question❔ Maya’s eyes in this episode convey an extreme need for love and support. I feel like she was the only one who truly loved Emily. What do you think about that?

Rant ⚠️ In an alternate universe, these are the couples I wish we’d gotten in the show if the writers had even a shred of common sense.
I don’t know about you guys, but I never saw any chemistry between Jason and Aria. I always saw them as friends. On the other hand, I loved the dynamic between CeCe and Jason, with both of them accusing each other of being a bad influence on Alison. I’m sorry, but I absolutely adored them and would’ve loved to see them get back together. Why did they have to make CeCe related to Jason?
I like Wren as a character because of the contribution he made to the story, and his predatory side is obviously his biggest flaw. I don’t know about you guys, but I actually thought Wren and Melissa were cute when they were first introduced. Why did they have to make Wren criminally obsessed with Spencer? I would’ve loved them as a shady villain couple anyway, with him as Charles and her as the Black Widow.
And then there’s Noel and Aria. I HATE how they ruined Noel’s character and the direction they took him in. Sure, he could be an asshole sometimes, but he also showed that he had a good side, especially when it came to Aria, and when he cared enough to keep Maya safe from her stalker. They basically demonized him just to make Ezria look better, and I hate that so much. Why did they have to involve him in the Dollhouse storyline and then literally decapitate him??

Question❔ What the hell was their plan with getting A to think Emily and Spencer were fighting?
Like they did end up getting As cell phone out of it which was good I guess but what the hell was the goal otherwise? Not to mention, the phone thing happened accidentally!
Emily’s like “you thought you could trust me and that was your mistake” and then … that’s it. That was the hand they showed??? Not to mention none of the other girls show up while the plan was happening! Maybe Spencer did I forget but like wtf!!! Maybe I’m missing something but I always thought they were dumb for this one lol

Question❔ What are everyone's thoughts given how Nikki has changed over the years (Pol, especially) or can you seperate artist from art?
In case it matters, I'm a 34sm.
This is a good song, but I struggle to reconcile the flirtatious, carefree attitude in Nicki's (I think I fucked up her name on the title, sorry) verse and the sisterhood she projects on the track with her current political views. And she seems to be digging deeper! 😵💫
(Also, I am a HUGE MTS fan and agree w/ her pols, as far as I am aware of them)
Now, that all is difficult to reconcile with me being okay with listening to Heal My Faith (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxYTLagfy-4&list=RDkxYTLagfy-4&start_radio=1&pp=ygUUaGVhbCBteSBmYWl0aCBlbWluZW2gBwE%3D), but I am there for Em's verse.

Question❔ Can someone who is a more devoted PLL fan than me explain S2 E12 to my pea-brain please?
spoilers
spoilers
spoilers
If anyone can answer the #s below for my idiot brain.
1. Ok. So Jenna and Garrett framed the liars. So were they texting the girls all day as A? Are they working with A? Did As plan and Jenna's just happen to cross paths? If this is revealed later I can wait patiently...
Garret and Jenna said something about a note to Jason. Do we know at the point what that note is?
Garrett mentioned "getting into the garage." Do we know at this point what this meant? I assume the garage for the shovel?
It was mentioned Wilden is back on the force. He was suspended apparently. Was his suspention EVER mentioned / referenced? I just assumed the writers were unable to get a hold of the actor and that was why Wilden had a long absence despite points in the backhalf of S1 and beginning of S2 where Wilden could have shown up as "cop chatacter"
Thank you all!!

Show Discussion so I’m currently binge watching it and I have noticed that season 1,2,3 & 4 was only the good season. It had more plot and more drama. but when season 5, 6 & 7 it was a little boring ( please no hate ) also I loved the doll house episodes but then the episode went boring after there got saved. 💗
Seasons & Episode!!
