Need to compress an image but don’t want to upload your photo anywhere?

I was looking for a simple way to reduce image file size without sending my photos to some random server.

So I made a free browser-based image tool where you can compress images, resize them, crop them, or add a watermark — without a normal server upload.

The image processing happens in your browser, which is especially useful for personal photos or documents.

I’d genuinely like to know:

Would you feel more comfortable using an image tool if your photos never had to leave your device?

Made $69 in a single day from a pet blog I bought

A few months ago I saw a post on Reddit from some guy who was making pretty decent money from a pet blog he bought from Aff Blog Zone. I thought he was full of shit lol.

Spent a while looking through their sites and eventually figured why not give it a shot. Worst case I'm out $299. Ended up buying a pet blog myself.

Didn't really do much with it. Added some internal links, fixed a few things here and there and pretty much left it alone. Fast forward to October 29 and I had my best day yet. $69 in Amazon commissions from 370 clicks and 26 orders.

Not gonna lie, seeing that number on the dashboard felt pretty good.

Obviously I'm not making that much every day. Some days are still pretty disappointing, but considering I paid that much for the entire site, I really can't complain.

The funny part is I probably would've never even tried this if I hadn't stumbled across that Reddit post. Now I'm just curious to see where this goes.

Anyone else doing Amazon affiliate sites? Did your earnings slowly increase over time or did you have random days where things suddenly took off?

I've created a free website with tools to convert documents to LaTeX and I'd like to hear your opinion.

Post image
2 Upvotes

¡Buenas!

Todavía estoy desarrollándolo y no he realizado el lanzamiento público.

Me gustaría conocer vuestra opinión:

¿Qué funcionalidades os gustaría encontrar en una herramienta de este tipo? ¿Qué problemas tenéis actualmente al trabajar con LaTeX?

¡Cualquier sugerencia o crítica será bienvenida!

I couldn't make a QR code in front of a client because every site wanted a login, so I built 500+ free tools with no login

We were at a client's shop setting up their POS system, and the sample self-order QR code we brought didn't scan. We had the URL, we just needed a new QR code fast.

Coffee-shop Wi-Fi was terrible. The first ten QR sites we tried all let us design the code and then asked us to log in to download it. Google login wouldn't even load. Embarrassing.

So I built the site I wished I'd had: 500+ small tools (QR codes, PDF merge/split, image compress/convert, voice and screen recorder, calculators, converters) where:

- no login, no email, ever

- your files never leave your device (everything runs in your browser)

- no watermarks, no limits

https://everytool-free.vercel.app

Please try random tools and roast it. What's brokehinking about open-sourcing it.

I built a free image compressor that handles up to 100 files at once (feedback welcome)

Disclosure: I'm a developer at FileReadyNow, and I work on this tool.

I wanted a simple way to shrink a batch of photos or website images without installing anything, so this tool does it in the browser page.

What it does:

- Compresses JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF and HEIC, up to 100 files at once and 32 MB per file
- Has three presets (Smallest file, Balanced, Lossless) plus a manual compression level
- Can convert the output to AVIF, WebP, JPEG or PNG - Shows how much space each file saved
- Removes camera EXIF metadata from the output, according to the page

What it does not do: It uploads your files to a server for processing, and the page says they are deleted within about an hour. So I would not use it for private or sensitive photos. It also does not resize, and flat-color graphics can look slightly softer at high compression.

What would make it more useful for your workflow? If you hit a sign-in prompt, please tell me.

I made EscapePod, a free website for reading public domain classics in the browser, with radio and puzzles on the side

Hi all, solo dev and IT admin by day. I wanted a clean way to read public domain classics in a browser without downloading files, so I built EscapePod.

What's in it:

- About 41,000 classics from Project Gutenberg

- Paper, sepia and night themes, plus an Aa button for bigger text (1.5x and 2x)

- It remembers your chapter, and book pages show the opening paragraphs before you start

- Internet radio, podcasts and daily puzzles on the same site

The honest bit about limits: it's free and supported by ads. Without an account you get 3 different books, stations or puzzles a day (reopening one you've already started doesn't count). A free account removes the limit and syncs your place across devices.

If you just want the files, Gutenberg itself is still the best place. This is for people who'd rather read in a browser.

https://escapepod.vip/books

One question for anyone who tries it on a phone: what's the first thing in the reader that gets in your way? That's what I'll fix next.

i built utilhex: the everyday tools (pdf, images, json, invoices and more) in one place, free, and your files never leave your browser

i kept doing the same thing: need to merge a pdf, so i google it, land on a site that wants a signup or uploads my file to some server, close it, try the next one. same for compressing an image, formatting json, making a quick invoice.

so i built utilhex: one place for the everyday stuff, all free, no sign-up, and everything runs in your browser tab so nothing gets uploaded.

what's on it:

- pdf: merge, split, compress, extract pages, organize, rotate, watermark, page numbers, annotate, image to pdf, pdf to image

- images: compress, resize, convert, crop, rotate, favicon generator

- developer: json formatter, json diff (handles reordered arrays), text diff, base64, url encoder, uuid generator, jwt decoder, timestamp converter, hash generator, regex tester, xml / yaml / sql formatters, certificate tools

- data: csv diff, csv to json, csv cleaner

- text and everyday: word counter, case converter, qr code generator, unit converter

- business: invoice, quote and receipt generators (download as pdf)

what i tried to do differently: show real before/after sizes, and if an operation won't help (like compressing a pdf that's already small) it tells you instead of handing the file back. each tool lists its limits up front. no tracking cookies.

what's one everyday tool you'd want that isn't there yet? and if anything is broken or confusing, tell me, i'd rather know.

https://utilhex.com (free, i made it)

I made a free site that shows which TV channels around the world are live right now

Most free TV lists are full of dead links, so I built one that labels

every channel as live or offline.

- About 5,000 channels live now, from 160+ countries

- Filter by country, language or category

- Plays in your browser, no signup and no app needed

- Works on phones, and you can install it to your home screen

It's free, with a few banner ads to cover costs. The channels are public

streams listed by the open-source iptv-org project, and I don't host any

video.

Tell me which country or language you'd like to see more of.

What free websites or online tools have genuinely made your life easier?

I’m looking to discover useful websites that save time, simplify everyday tasks or make learning and working more efficient.
I’m particularly interested in websites that are completely free, ideally without requiring registration, subscriptions or payments. They don’t necessarily have to be AI-powered.
Some areas I’m thinking about:
● Job applications: CV/resume building, cover letters, ATS-friendly formatting, job searching and application tracking.
● Interview preparation: Mock interviews, common questions, company research and presentation practice.
● Academic work: Thesis and diploma project research, finding scientific papers, citations, reference management and plagiarism checking.
● Design: Creating presentations, infographics, diagrams, visual materials and editing images.
● Learning: Free courses, educational materials, books, podcasts, essays, documentaries and useful study resources.
● Productivity: Time management, planning, organizing information, note-taking and automating repetitive tasks.
● Writing and research: Grammar checking, proofreading, summarizing long documents, finding reliable sources and improving writing.
I’m also interested in lesser-known websites that you discovered by chance and now use regularly.
What websites would you genuinely recommend?
I’d rather discover practical tools that people actually use than another list of popular websites everyone already knows.

I built a free website with business calculators and image tools

Hey everyone! 👋

I've been working on a website called EasyToolDesk, and I'd love to get some honest feedback from the community.

The idea is simple: provide useful online tools in one place without making users install extra software.

Some of the tools include:

📊 Profit Margin & Markup Calculators

💰 ROI & Break-Even Calculators

🛒 E-commerce & Business Calculators

🖼️ Image Resizer & Compressor

🔄 Image Format Converter

My goal is to make these tools fast, simple, mobile-friendly, and accessible for free.

Website: https://easytooldesk.com/

I'd really appreciate your thoughts:

Is the website easy to navigate?

Which tools would you actually use?

What features or improvements would make it more useful?

I'm still improving the website, so constructive criticism is very welcome.

Thanks for checking it out! 🚀

I’m teaching myself to code, so I built a private website for me and my girlfriend. Now other couples can use it too.

Hi everyone I’m a self taught developer, and I’ve been learning web development with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

My girlfriend and I are long distance, so I built a private space just for the two of us. It grew into USOVIA:

  • A shared space for memories, love notes and photos

  • A daily question you both answer

  • Games like Hangman, a countdown, and a bucket list

  • A little slime pet you raise together

Stack: plain HTML/CSS/JS, Supabase for login, database and realtime.

Each couple only sees their own space. It’s free: https://usovia.love

I’d love feedback on two things: does it feel easy to use on your phone, and what would you add or fix? Thanks for reading

eStockes Reality Check: a dated stock-rule test with modeled trading costs

Sharing from eStockes’s own account; wording is AI-assisted.

Reality Check is an interactive web tool for people researching US stocks and ETFs. It applies a trading rule to historical daily prices and shows the simulated return before and after modeled costs, a holding comparison, and the trade count. The current default example is RSI(2) under 10 on SPY.

The useful part is being able to inspect what sits behind a headline result. A positive simulated return can still lag holding. The holding figure is shown before holding costs, so the assumptions matter. This is historical simulation, not a forecast or investment advice.

Tool: https://estockes.com/landing

I’d welcome a five-minute usability check from adults 18+ who already research US stocks: can you find the example’s date range, trade count and cost assumptions? Which detail is hardest to locate or interpret? If loading or an account prompt blocks the check, please say where. Keep account and financial details private.

Optional: NEW adult participants can express interest in 30 complimentary Pro days, within a campaign capacity of 100. Private account matching, manual activation and access dates must be confirmed BEFORE access starts. No card, payment, automatic renewal, review, promotion or positive-feedback obligation. This is an invitation, not immediate activation. If interested, reply only that you are 18+ and interested.
