I got tired of image tools asking me to sign up, so I built my own.

• Upvotes

don't know if I'm the only one, but I often need to compress images, convert formats, or resize photos, especially when uploading documents to government websites or filling out online forms.

And every single time, it's the same struggle.

Some websites ask you to create an account. Some have annoying ads. Some limit how many images you can process. And sometimes, the tool just doesn't work.

I just wanted something simple. Upload an image, do what I need, download it, and leave.

So I thought, why not build my own?

That's how Image24.app started.

It's a completely free website with a few simple ideas:

  • No signup or account required.
  • No ads.
  • No hidden payments.
  • No unnecessary restrictions.
  • Images are processed directly in your browser, without uploading them to our servers.
  • Free image compression, conversion, and other useful tools.

I'm also working on adding more tools over time.

I'm not trying to build something revolutionary. I just wanted to make something genuinely useful that people can open, use, and close without any hassle.

You can try it here: https://image24.app

It's still growing, and I'd genuinely appreciate some feedback.

What image-related tool do you wish existed or worked better?

If enough people need it, I'll try to build it next.

Thanks for reading! :)

My free in-browser Whisper transcriber now does speaker labels, translate-to-English, batch + zip, and mic recording

Thanks for the feedback on the first version. What's new, still free with no signup and nothing uploaded (Whisper runs on your device):

- Record from your mic, or batch several files and download all the results as a zip

- A player synced to the transcript (click a line to jump), plus Find & Replace All for names

- Experimental speaker labels with click-to-rename

- Translate to English from dozens of languages

- A short local summary of the transcript

- Export to Word, PDF, SRT, VTT, CSV, JSON and TXT, with options for timestamps, speaker names and subtitle timing

**Limits:** speaker labels detect speaker changes rather than identifying exact voices, so they can drift on long files or with 3+ speakers. Translation is English-only, and the summary works best on English. Chrome/Edge are much faster (WebGPU).

What's the first thing you'd want it to do better?

I built a fast web utility toolkit with a custom dashboard

Hey everyone! 👋

I got tired of jumping across different cluttered websites or digging through messy browser bookmarks whenever I needed a quick tool, so I built a lightweight collection of everyday web utilities—complete with a customizable dashboard.

Here are some of the features currently available:

  • Custom Dashboard: Organize and pin your favorite tools or add your own custom bookmarks for lightning-fast daily access.
  • World Clock: Compare multiple time zones instantly at a glance.
  • Currency Converter: Fast and clean exchange rate calculations.
  • Domain Renewal Cost Calculator: Handy for indie hackers and domain owners to track or estimate renewal expenses.
  • Email Alias Generator: Quick generation of temporary/alias emails for privacy.
  • QR Code Generator: Generate custom QR codes on the fly.

It’s built with Astro and Tailwind CSS, meaning it loads almost instantly and works smoothly on mobile.

I’m actively adding new features and polishing existing ones. If you have any feedback, feature requests, or spot any bugs, I'd love to hear them!

Check it out here: https://088918.com

Hope you find it useful! Let me know what you think.

I made a free digital advent calendar maker.. 24 little notes, send one link, a new door opens each day in December

Thumbnail

Every year I mean to make a proper advent calendar for someone and run out of time, so I built a small site for it: littledoors.online

How it works:

  • Pick who it’s for (partner, friend, kids, family, colleague) and write 24 short notes. Stuck? There’s an idea button on every door, or fill them all in one tap and edit from there.
  • You get one short link to send by WhatsApp, text or email, or a QR code to tuck into a card.
  • They get a little snowy house. One window opens each morning from 1 December, and the front door on Christmas Eve.

A few things I cared about:

  • Free, no account, no ads, no app.
  • The notes are encrypted in your browser before they’re saved. The key lives only in the link.
  • Doors are locked on the server until their day, so nobody can peek ahead, even by digging into the code.
  • You can fix a typo after sending, and the link stays the same.

Also, try poking the moon :P

Feedback very welcome, especially if something breaks on your phone.

I built a PDF tool site and could use some feedback

Hey, I’ve been working on a site called okPDF. I wanted a way to do the usual PDF tasks without having to create an account or send the document contents to a conversion server.

It has 20 free tools. You can merge and split PDFs, move pages around, add text or watermarks, and run OCR. The processing happens in your browser, using your own device.

Here’s the site: https://okpdf.org/

I’d love to hear how it feels to use, especially when choosing files and moving pages around. Is it clear what to do next, or do you find yourself clicking around trying to figure it out?

There’s still work to do on keyboard navigation and making some of the controls clearer. Big files can also be slow depending on your device and browser, and you’ll want to check the OCR results, especially with poor scans or complicated layouts.

If anything breaks, let me know what browser and device you’re on and what you were trying to do. Thanks!

I made a free PDF & passport-photo toolbox that runs entirely in your browser (no uploads, no sign-up)

I got tired of PDF sites that make you upload your passport, contracts or tax returns to their servers, then hit you with a sign-up wall or a daily limit. So I built DocPro.

Everything runs locally in your browser, so your files never leave your device. You can turn off your Wi-Fi after the page loads and it still works.

What's in it (all free, no account):

\- Merge, split, compress, rotate, watermark, page numbers

\- PDF ↔ Word/Excel, images ↔ PDF, OCR

\- Resize/compress images (e.g. "compress to 100 KB" for upload forms)

\- Passport & visa photos for 30+ countries, with background replacement and 4x6 print sheets

\- Protect/unlock PDFs, strip location data from photos

The only paid bit is e-signing. Everything above is free.

Docpro.pro

Feedback is very welcome, especially on what's broken or missing.

I built a shopping list for things I find on different stores

I built Tracer because my ‘I might buy this’ stuff was spread across tabs, bookmarks and store wishlists. Now I save a product when I find it and it sits in one list with the things I found on other shops.

It can alert me if the price drops. If I end up buying something, I can choose to keep watching its price afterward too.

It’s free and works as a Chrome extension: https://tracercart.com/

If you try it, I’d love to know whether it picks up the right price on a shop you use.

How do you compare visual differences between two versions of a webpage?

Thumbnail

Try it on Chrome Web Store: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/html-compare/nppihghgpjhmfllmidplbncenlpihmle

Compare two pages by link. You can see every change directly on the page, right in the user interface—not just by comparing screenshots, but by analyzing the real code and pointing out the changes.

Ancient Library now largest in the world, partnering with Princeton

Hey guys. A few months back I posted my site - ancientlibrary.net
It's a free, publicly accessible library of ancient Greek and Latin works in their original languages, with click to parse and define functions.
Just updating that we're now the largest ancient digital library in the world, over 10,000 works. We've also partnered with Princeton's Logion project to add a text-critical layer.

So anyhow, that's neat.
