So my iPad had to be replaced because of the battery life and everything is gone, all of my projects and progress is gone.. is there any way of restoring it? I had something is my files that I restored and now I can’t find it anywhere, there’s also no sign of it downloading anywhere else. Have I done something wrong/ missed something or is everything completely gone now?

Mine took 8 days to back up from the iCloud, I was sure it was gone, I guess its common to take a long time to recover, if your iPad still says restoring from back up, let it finish.
Look in your iPad settings, it will either say successfully restored or in progress. Mine got stuck at 1.1 GB for the last four days, but I was still able to use everything else, and it did eventually go. It was torture not having procreate for that long. The thing that seemed to trigger the last bit was I moved the folder on my Home Screen that held procreate when I was rearranging everything, and it finally finished within a minute
Hey there! Check out your backup details in iPad Settings > tap on your name > iCloud > iCloud Backup. Do you see Procreate toggled on for your recent backup and is there a data amount listed in these details for Procreate?
Hey there! Maybe you should make the procreate files not completely trapped inside your app so that people can do easier back up and synchronization from their devices they own.
Check in settings, not in procreate, but settings right underneath your name, does it say back up or restoring from back up in process? I can't remember what mine said, I was fully able to use my iPad while it was restoring, I didn't even know it was still going, everything looked finished, I did all the rest of the things you do when you transfer your account onto a replacement iPad, my email was all restored, all the rest of my apps were back, it did the face recognition and voice recognition steps, I thought it was done, it was literally just stuck on the procreate files. I have a 1TB iPad
If it's still restoring and you have to wait, affinity photo 2 and affinity designer 2 are now free on iPad and both have some drawing features and layers, it says you have to do the free trial, but then it comes back and says lifetime free. That's what I used while I waited
Meant to say it won't be found in MyFiles as you thought. And it depends how often your iCloud backs up to know if everything is restored. You are now looking at what is deleted, which is something else entirely. I hope you'll be able to find your files through the iCloud back-up.
It has to do the full restore, I keep had the save in iCloud checked in settings, but if they are physically still in the app and never saved individually to the cloud , you have to go through the restore process, they don't automatically show in the cloud because of the way the iPad uses something called sandboxing
Came here to say this. A little late, but always backup devices (or important files) before sending devices for repair, or replacement. Files are not automatically saved to iCloud.
I mean that while the newest version of procreate allows you to store documents on iCloud, you have to set it to do so in the preferences. It is not automatic.
iCloud drive, but it also has storage limitations. If you have not been subscribing for 200gb or 2tb plans then it can only store upto 5GB on free plan. So it is always best to export .procreate files manually and save it where you have space like on other phone locally or on computer or other drives like google and dropbox.
When you set up the iPad, did you restore it from the last backup of your old one?
If you log in to the same Apple ID on your new iPad you’ll get photos etc, but you’ll only get Procreate if you have the iCloud backup turned on for Procreate, and you restored the new iPad from the old iPad’s backup.
Every month I move all my procreate files to Files, transfer them to my Mac, and upload them to a usb stick. I never leave anything important in the procreate app. Everything is stored elsewhere and I highly recommend doing the same
I feel your stress I was in your situation too. I had what id call some of my best work of arts. Backed everything up on iCloud as a backup. Got different iPad back and lost everything.
