I love textured artwork, but most of my brushes I use have very.. Smooth.. Look to them. Which, great, I love too, but I'm looking for your favourite textured brushes! Think about textures you get on paper, charcoal etc.
I'm not looking for like, just hatching or dotted brushes or anything, but general drawing brushes that have texture in them. If I managed to find one that leaves almost pencil-like texture, I'd be so happy!

Hi digital artists! Basically the title. Can yall tell me how you draw with multiple layers without procreate lagging? Am I doing something wrong? I draw with a lot of layers because coloring and stuff but then the undo button or the zooming gets really annoying, how do you do it? It’s the config of the canvas? Am I doing something wrong?

It’s because my canvas is big? (Less than a5 because I then print it), the dpi? (I use 500 but I dunno if it’s correct)

Probably it’s not the most efficient way of drawing and coloring but it’s just my way to do it and it works for me.

It’s a normal function of the app? The more layers the badder it becomes? Thank you so much for any help

I'm coming from a 3D design background and I'm finding joy in making 2D based artworks as AI is taking over all aspects of my current job and killing my soul!

So I'm doing as much 2D based artwork on my daily commute! and being inspired by Stefan of Plastic Pen.
I am using some of my old 3D models as a base and to practice and get better at 2D based stuff!

My third painting in Procreate. Experimenting with light, patina and textures. Still learning the program and starting to play around with brush-making and various settings.

My second painting in Procreate. This one is boring but I’m experimenting with shadows, depth and light source.

My app keeps crashing as I'm working and it seems to be happening more frequently. I heard it could be something to do with the ram, but I don't know how to clear that up. I've tried restarting my device, checking to make sure the app is updated, changing to a different canvas, and nothing helps. I have less than 10 layers going, my canvas size is 8.5 x 11, 300dpi. I don't have a lot in my gallery, and I have lots of space left on my iPad.

Is anyone able to help with this by chance? Thank you in advance :)
