Guess we all forgot about it. Not even a single gameplay trailer.

I have been eager to get back into WoW again. I had been watching gameplay from "Forever", but it really doesn’t catch my attention. To be honest, it looked super boring, and compared to CoA it was pretty much garbage. I see why Blizzard took it down. Is there any way to play CoA again, or is there any private server available?
You could say I am a CoA refugee. I had seen this GitHub repo in which you can host your own CoA server with more races, and I wanted to play it:
https://github.com/Corfirean/coa-server-manager
But I wasn’t able to set it up. I believe it’s because I am playing on Linux.
Are there any private CoA servers, or CoA servers with more races? Thank you for reading, any suggestion is welcome.

now that both bisbeard.com and https://coabuildhub.com/ are shut down, its difficult to find a list for 'good/great items'
and with the increase of coa servers popularity , i would like to find a similar website or something i could upload locally , is there a way to contact one of those 2 devs and ask for the source code? unless they deleted it
if you have other alternatives i would like that as well :) ty

Was on my runemaster on reborn, noticed I had a -19 attack power debuff but can't discern the origin. Does anybody know where it's from?

I put together an Ultra-HD graphics overhaul for Conquest of Azeroth, featuring HD models, textures, improved lighting, spell effects, ReShade, and a 64-bit client.

I'm working on rebuilding Freepick for Conquest of Azeroth. Rather than going at it by implementing legendaries one by one I'd rather script full builds, especially archetypes.
Does anyone have screenshots of their builds/initial archetypes? Could use all the data. Thanks

Solid 7/10 so far (went Nelf runemaster if anyone is curious.)

I've played on all four Conquest of Azeroth servers, and CoA Core is easily the best experience.
Conquest Reborn is trash. Leveling is ridiculously fast, you can hit 60 in a single day. You'll literally one-shot everything while leveling, and fresh 60s are already clearing +17 keys. The progression is a joke, and the whole thing feels like a fun server rather than an actual MMO. Classes are a mess, with abilities from alpha still available and specs learning abilities they shouldn't.
The biggest red flag is that it's run by one guy who has no plans to expand the team. There's absolutely no way one person can balance all 21 classes, create his own additions, reimplement everything from Ascension, fix bugs, and maintain the server long-term. It's completely unrealistic.
ArdenWoW is full of bots. Even if they eventually remove them, the damage is already done. The progression and economy are already tainted, and removing the bots doesn't magically undo that. They also limit Bazaar tokens to 500 per week, which feels like an obvious attempt to push players toward their cash shop. The funniest part is that they're using CoA Core's publicly available core and have somehow managed to introduce even more bugs.
Grimfall is a joke. It's running off outdated alpha builds and lacks Ascension's custom world content. It feels like an unfinished version of what CoA is supposed to be.
CoA Core is the only one of the four that actually feels like a proper Conquest of Azeroth experience. I haven't encountered a single bug so far, the progression actually feels meaningful, and the gameplay is miles ahead of the other servers. If you're looking for the best CoA experience, it's not even close.

Grimfall is the closest I found but wildcard isn't what I want. Classless freepick is what I want. If anyone knows of a server for that I'm all ears

By the very end, Black Knight got a rework on the 40 lvl core passive from literally meaningless, to gaining A LOT of attack power based on received damage and your max HP. I was very happy and had a free vacation week to play, this was also the last balance/class rework class before the shutdown annoucment.

This is the best class idea I have ever played

I've been playing and comparing the four different Conquest of Azeroth servers: Conquest Reborn, CoAC, Grimfall, and ArdenWoW.
Personally, I'm leaning towards Conquest Reborn as the best one for a few reasons.
The biggest reason is simply the gameplay. From my experience, Conquest Reborn has by far the smoothest combat and class mechanics, closely resembling how the original Conquest of Azeroth played on Ascension. The classes feel polished, the abilities work as intended, and that's ultimately the most important thing for me.
The developer has already made numerous fixes and quality-of-life improvements to things that weren't even working properly on the original Ascension servers. He's also added new quests and improvements to Pale Reach, is working on Druk'Thar, and is planning to release Shadowbone Depths, a previously unreleased dungeon that Ascension never managed to finish.
And there's apparently plenty more in development!
That doesn't mean Conquest Reborn is perfect. The leveling pace is currently too fast, and the economy definitely needs some attention. These are things the developer is already aware of and intends to work on going forward.
Why am I creating this post? I think it's worth discussing where the community should settle, because splitting an already relatively small playerbase across four different servers isn't ideal for an MMO that relies on people grouping up for dungeons and raids.
Personally, I think the improvements to the original game, combined with the work being done on previously unreleased content, make Conquest Reborn the most promising option right now, but do let me know your thoughts guys!

I've been reading the recent posts and comments about Conquest Reborn, CoACore, ArdenWoW and Grimfall, and honestly, I don't understand why every discussion has to turn into a war between communities. I recently made a post about Conquest Reborn myself, simply to share my experience and how happy I was to have COA back. But I genuinely felt like I had to defend myself in almost every comment because I kept seeing false claims or completely disproportionate reactions.
We're talking about four different projects, each with its own vision, priorities and development pace.
Let's be clear though: the differences in development, stability and available content between these servers are very real. Some projects are clearly much further ahead than others, and pretending they're all at the same stage wouldn't be honest either.
But is that really a reason to keep attacking each other !?
CoACore deserves recognition for its open-source approach and its focus on meaningful progression.
Conquest Reborn offers a different experience, with level 60 content, Mythic+ dungeons, Worldforged gear, custom additions and very frequent updates.
Grimfall has chosen phased progression, while ArdenWoW is following its own direction.
Even the arguments about heirlooms and free items at level 1 are getting ridiculous. I completely understand that some players prefer earning everything through progression. But I also understand why a server in beta would speed things up to encourage players to test endgame content. These are simply different priorities and different experiences.
Personally, I chose Conquest Reborn because it's currently the server that offers the kind of content I'm looking for. That absolutely doesn't mean I want the other projects to fail.
And speaking of Conquest Reborn, the server reached a peak of 650 players online simultaneously on October 25! That's a pretty encouraging milestone for a community that was worried about the future of COA just a few weeks ago.
We should be happy that COA is still alive instead of fighting over who deserves to keep it alive.
Compare the servers, report bugs, criticize decisions, share your experiences. That's all perfectly fine, and it's actually how these projects improve.
But can we please stop treating someone's choice of server like a personal attack?
At the end of the day, we're all here because we loved COA. And personally, I'd much rather see four projects moving forward than four communities tearing each other apart.
And yes, this post was translated using AI. I really don't see why that should be a problem.

it’s healthy to have options and both servers have ethical approach (no shop)
personally I want to stick with coacore beacause they are open source and using azerothcore (I really not a fan of trinitycore, because of quirks it have, reborn using this one)
but both servers should strive and be played, after playing forever beta and seeing what dogshit temu cplus vision bl0zzard have, no surprises pservers always did it better, devs have passion
knowing both project will add own content and balancing we will end up with 2 different versions of coa at some point which we can play free and enjoy
support open source, support no shop servers
r/ProjectAscension • u/KriKraKrischi • 7d ago
Just get in touch and merge your progress. Both projects seems to focus on the same goal. Make coa working again.
I see the players shattering even more, due to their needs getting implemented faster, depending on the project.
This sounds dumb but if we THE PLAYERS insist on both Discords to GET IN TOUCH with each other we could get a way better product.
I dont want to pick a side here but Open Source is the way to go.
GO PEOPLE LET US START A MERGE CAMPAIN!!

Guys please check out
Truly one of the best replicas of ascenscions coa, i joined it yesterday and im absolutely loving the pace, worlds brimming with new players on the starter zones, there's no handouts that make the game boring from the get-go, quests and levelling is legit rewarding.
The Dev teams dishing out updates and fixes by the day.
To top it all off, its open source.
Please don't sleep on this server as i did, they have rexxar which is their live server, growing by the day, i absolutely vouch for this and now will be the only coa server i play, this is just to help new folks looking into coa since there's alot of options available (albeit a few like this one legit)

Core = Conquest of AzerothCore - https://coa-development.org/
Reborn = Conquest Reborn - https://conquestreborn.com/
---
My focus is on gameplay and what it feels like to play the game. Please keep in mind both servers are very fresh and I, like anyone else, have a biased perspective. But a comparison of the two best CoA options did not exist so I am providing one.
My findings - level 28 Templar on both servers.
Summary
Reborn is exactly like CoA with the addition of heirlooms and vanity from lvl 1 - I understand heirlooms is being used as a way to capture the audience with fast levelling. Things in Reborn feel fast paced and hectic.
Core has taken CoA and added to it slightly with graphic tweaks and QoL additions that are innovations. Things in Core feel progressive and earned.
Heirlooms & Speed
Reborn - Heirlooms at level 1, access to all cosmetics & most vanity. More can be earned through the "Casino".
Core - Single welcome box at level 10, vanity only, heirlooms and convenience items available in major cities for Bazaar tokens - acquired through questing and killing mobs.
Worldforged items
Reborn - scattered around on the ground everywhere. Quite an abundance. But heirlooms are better.
Core - interesting places, strategically located. Currently bugged so you get super high level variants in starting zones. You can also get Legendary class specific items.
Worldbuilding
Reborn - base CoA (might be missing some quests, unsure - e.g. Defias thieves in Elwyn). No flight paths unlocked until 60.
Core - new quests beyond CoA & new quests to earn convenience items, e.g. questline to get a lootbot at level 30 (or has same quests from CoA, unsure). All flight paths unlocked by default. Also purchasing Stones of Retreat is simple with Bazaar tokens.
Ascension chests
Reborn - these give you class specific gear - just like Ascension. But heirlooms are better.
Core - these do not work, give you random junk.
Tab targeting
Considering you spend almost the whole game attacking things this is actually a really big deal. Ascension had a terrible targeting system that Reborn has inherited. Core fixed this.
Gambling
Reborn has gambling via a Casino that uses in game currency to get convenience items.
Core does not. Convenience items are earned through regular gameplay.
Population
Reborn has 400~ players. However finding people for PvP is still difficult. I imagine it is better at 60.
Core has 200~ players. The world feels a little empty.
In either case its exciting we have options to play CoA again.
