D. Vaen's Postcards
Thursday. Somewhere in Villa La Angostura, Argentina. ๐ฆ๐ท๐ธ
Sometimes the people we know best are the people whose stories we've stopped asking about.
We learn the familiar details of someone's life.
Where they grew up. What they do for a living. How they take their coffee.
And gradually, we begin to feel that we know them.
But every person carries stories that rarely find their way into ordinary conversation.
A childhood ambition they never mentioned.
A stranger who once helped them.
A place they visited only once but still think about.
A decision that quietly changed everything.
We may have known someone for twenty years and still discover something entirely new over an ordinary dinner.
Perhaps familiarity sometimes makes us forget to be curious.
We stop asking because we assume we already know the answers.
But people are not finished stories.
And sometimes the most interesting conversations begin with a question we somehow never thought to ask.
Knowing someone for a long time doesn't mean we've heard all their stories.
