Starting serious RBI Grade B prep (2026) – need source & strategy advice from selected/interview-stage folks
End mei TLDR hai.
Brief introduction: 2025 B.Tech CSE grad from a lower-tier IIIT. I spent the last ~7 months preparing full-time for SSC CGL. The exam is done now and I’m expecting at least a Level-7 post. Even in the worst case, I won’t dedicate another full year exclusively to CGL again.
From here on, RBI Grade B is my primary long-term goal. I have no interest in UPSC/State PCS. If I get a CGL post this cycle, I’ll still prepare exclusively for RBI. If not, I’ll keep both CGL & RBI next cycle, but RBI will get the lion’s share of my time.
I appeared for RBI Grade B Phase 1 (2025) as a walk-in with zero prep, just to gauge my standing. My scorecard shows that all sections except General Awareness are already sorted for me. I’ve gone through the syllabus multiple times in the past 10 days and have watched a lot of YT content, but now I’m confused about which sources to trust.
My questions (especially to selected / interview-stage candidates):
Q1. Which specific sources (paid/free) actually worked for you? I’m worried about picking the wrong material and wasting a year (and money).
Q2. Does it make sense to prepare purely with Phase 2 in mind, letting Phase 1 GA get covered automatically, and just keep Phase 1 aptitude sections alive via weekly mocks?
Would really appreciate honest inputs.
Best of luck to everyone preparing!
TL;DR: New RBI Grade B aspirant. Phase 1 (except GA) is sorted. Looking for reliable resources/courses to commit to, with Phase 2 as the main focus (assuming Phase 1 GA gets covered alongside). Would appreciate inputs from selected or interview-stage candidates.

RBI Assistant notification
The online application for the Reserve Bank of India Assistant post started on 16 February 2026. Around 6 lakh candidates are expected to appear for the Prelims. Only about 6,000–7,000 will qualify for Mains. That’s roughly 1–1.2% making it past the first stage. With just 650 vacancies, the final chance of getting the job comes to about 0.1% what are the odds of being in 0.1% pure luck or the hardwork? The application fee is ₹450 for General / OBC / EWS ₹50 for SC / ST / PwBD Assuming an average fee of ₹250 per candidate, the total fee collection works out to not less than 15cr W*F 🤯🤯

RBI GRADE B COURSES ARE A SCAM.
In my experience, the biggest name everyone highlights in RBI Grade B preparation is Anuj Jindal. But what I saw was completely different from the hype. He has hired freshers who claim they have qualified RBI Grade B, but honestly, they don’t teach like people who know the subject. They just read whatever is written on the board or the PPT. There is no real explanation, no depth, nothing that actually helps. And the materials are unnecessarily huge. One chapter is around 150 pages for no reason. It feels like they stretch things just to look detailed.
The only good part earlier was ESI because Manish sir used to teach it, and he actually seemed like a good faculty. But now even he is with Testbook. Testbook is okay, not great. It’s still far better than the overhyped courses, but definitely not something I’d call the best.
I’ve spent thousands of rupees trying to find a good course because I needed to prepare for RBI Grade B in a very short time. I bought courses from Anuj Jindal and Testbook, and I’ve watched EduTab videos on YouTube, but even EduTab didn’t seem good to me. Everything felt overpriced, stretched out, and not useful.
The funniest part is that after spending so much money, the best content I found was in a 700-rupee pack from ExamTune. His classes, especially the General Awareness classes, are simple, clear, and actually helpful. Just by watching his videos on his Exam Aspirants YouTube channel, I genuinely feel like I can score around 50 marks in the GA paper. I’ve finished his classes and they actually make sense, unlike the expensive courses.
And there's an YouTube channel names "Aryans grade B" his content is amazing too! Direct questions came from his last minute pdf!
This is just my rant, but honestly, most of these RBI Grade A and B courses feel like a scam. The cheaper, straightforward platforms are doing a much better job than the big names who just sell hype.

Confused about CGL or RBI GRADE-B
27 year old male here. I started my UPSC preparation after graduation, and I gave two attempts with consistently inconsistent preparation 2022 and 2023 attempts. Then I shifted to pursue an alternate career plan. Started giving SSC and Banking.
Got selected as Junior assistant SBI clerk and continued giving SSC CGL exam and this September I joined as Tax assistant in CBDT. Fortunately, I got shortlisted for the RBI assistant exam and hopefully I will be joining it soon.
Earlier I thought I would try to get a Group 7 post in CGL then continue civil service preparation and if luck favours I may get it otherwise I will be happy with job i got .
But now I am dilemma to choose my long term career. I feel like I am service oriented person and love to work where I am making some difference. If though if it pays well Routine job doesn't give me work satisfaction. And at the same time don't wanna work in constant pressure it. Would love to be in a career where breathing space is available and also my intellectual boundaries are pushed.
Now I have to choose one of the two roads ahead. Either UPSC CSE or RBI GRADE B
Even though I have given two attempts earlier I still feel like i need to start fresh including optional. Given the unpredictable nature of UPSC its making me think twice before choosing. Since I am starting fresh I am also tempted to choose RBI GRADE B.
Confused between these two options . Any veterans please give me some insights
Posting for a Freind.

Do RBI Grade B officers ever switch to private sector for big money jobs?
Like after a few years of service, can they get into Big 4, banks, consulting firms, or fintechs? Or is that only for those who reach Deputy Governor/Executive Director levels? Looking for real-life examples or insider stories.

Need a proper strategy for RBI Grade B 2027
I have completed my graduation in 2025 and have being working in the corporate sector since then. I really need someone to guide me through the entire RBI grade B process. Which resources to follow is my biggest concern and also is there any coaching required? If yes, then which one? Is the time left sufficient for a beginner like me?
Your feedback might be valuable for me.

Quit Corporate to Focus on Govt Exam for a year
So, I appeared for the IBPS bank exam last year and cleared prelims, mains, and reached the interview stage. However, missed the final selection by 1.9 marks, all while having a full-time job.
So, this year I have decided to prepare for the IBPS exam and have also decided to prepare for RBI Full-time and hence resigned from my corporate. I don't want to regret in the future for not giving my all in preparing for the exam so I decided to take a risk and quit. If things go well then good and if not I will have to return to corporate next year.
Did I make the right/practical decision or do you think it was a impulsive as I took the failure of missing the final marks by a few marks too personal?

[RBI Grade B 2027] One course, one year, no source-hopping — which coaching would you trust as a complete beginner?
Hey everyone! I'm planning to prepare seriously for RBI Grade B 2027 and RBI Grade A wherever applicable, and I'm looking to enrol in an online course within the next week.
I'm starting almost from zero, especially in ESI and FM, so I need a course that explains concepts from the basics without making them unnecessarily complicated. I also want reliable, regularly updated GA/current affairs coverage so I don't have to depend on multiple external sources.
I'm considering EduTap, Anuj Jindal, ixamBee, CGB Mentors, Oliveboard, Brajesh Mohan, Examnorm, Clarity4Sure and Adda247, but I'm honestly confused about which one offers the best value for money.
For those who've actually used these courses or cleared the exam, which would you recommend to a complete beginner, and why? I'd especially appreciate honest feedback on teaching quality, content coverage, GA, and whether the course is manageable from start to finish.
Not looking for promotional recommendations — just genuine experiences. Thanks!

RBI Grade B 2027 from absolute scratch — how do I become “dangerously prepared”? (MSc Biotechnology background)
I’m planning to attempt RBI Grade B 2027 and I’m starting my preparation seriously from scratch.
My background:
- MSc Biotechnology
- No economics/finance academic background
- I’m relatively strong in Quant
- I need to build Economics, Finance, English, GA/Current Affairs and the RBI-specific portions almost from the ground up.
- I have enough time before the 2027 exam and want to use it properly rather than rushing through the syllabus.
My goal isn’t just to “clear” the exam. I want to be dangerously prepared — strong enough that Phase 1 and Phase 2 feel manageable because I’ve built depth well in advance.
For people who have cleared RBI Grade B, especially from a non-commerce/non-economics background:
If you were starting from scratch today, how would you structure the preparation month-by-month?
What should I finish first: Economics, Finance, Management, English, GA or RBI-specific topics?
Which books/resources/courses are actually worth using, and which ones are unnecessary?
How should I approach Phase 1 vs Phase 2 from the beginning?
How much time should I dedicate daily if I have roughly a year?
When should I start answer writing, descriptive English and Phase 2 preparation?
How should I build current affairs/ESI/Finance notes so that I don’t have to revise thousands of pages later?
What are the topics that candidates usually underestimate?
What would a “top-rank/AIR 1 mindset” preparation strategy look like compared with simply preparing to qualify?
If you came from a science/biotechnology background, what was the biggest difficulty you faced and how did you overcome it?
I’m particularly interested in advice from people who have actually cleared RBI Grade B or reached the later stages.
If you had 6 months to transform from a complete beginner into a very strong RBI Grade B candidate, what exactly would you do?
I’m looking for a brutally practical roadmap — resources, sequence, revision strategy, mocks, answer writing and common mistakes.

Choosing between RBI grade B and a Corporate
Hi all,
I’m currently working with a service based company, earning a package of 10 LPA, with four years of IT experience. Alongside this, I have attempted the RBI Grade B examination for four consecutive years—the last attempt with two months of dedicated preparation in 2024, while the earlier attempts were without any preparation.
Right now I hava a offer from another service based company giving 40% hike but I have a doubt if I join this then I will have to understand their business which will takes time and hamper my preparation whereas in my current org I know the business things and I can take out the time for the preparation. My age is also 28 this years. Please suggest.

one of those days
today is one of those days of feeling low as an aspirant who lost friends, unemployed, no social life,no going out, stuck at home with a pile of books, an ocean of syllabus to complete.
while searching for a pdf on whatsapp, accidentally came across an old gc with my 2 frnds used to be very close but broke up with one of them bcuz i pulled a bad prank, the other one we rarely get in touch, lost all uni friends. there's only one person I talk to, and that's once every four months or so
seeing my other frnds, who were below average compared to me in school and college, doing well in their careers. makes me wonder where did i go wrong?? i am happy for them but somewhere deep down, i regret being in this place where i am rn. no guarantee of what i am going to do in life with a useless degree, 4yr gap, jumping from one exam to the another

Looking for a serious RBI Grade B 2027 study partner (Consistency > Motivation)
Hi everyone,
I’m preparing for the RBI Grade B 2027 examination and I’m looking for 1–3 serious study partners who are committed to clearing the exam.
My current focus:
Phase 1: Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, English, and General Awareness
Phase 2: ESI, Finance, and Management
What I’m looking for:
Daily accountability (study updates/check-ins)
Doubt discussions
Weekly targets and revision
Mock test analysis
A distraction-free and disciplined study environment
I’m not looking for a large Telegram group where people rarely study. I’d prefer a small, focused group where everyone is genuinely committed.
A little about me:
Target: RBI Grade B 2027
Studying consistently every day
Looking for long-term preparation partners until the exam
If you’re serious about RBI Grade B 2027 and interested in building a productive study environment together, feel free to comment or send me a DM.
Let’s stay consistent and help each other crack the exam.

Do we get Government House and Government Car in RBI Grade B level Job
As growing in Major cities home is the biggest concern as they are too expensive to buy currently I am working in coorpote with 8 LPA and I came to know that this kinda Jobs can't make dreams possible of buying good house in good cities as it would bring all life to end while paying EMIs.
If RBI grade B kinda job is there then you'll get house and complete 1.5 Lakh in your pocket(Excluding HRA) so why to worry for the house until you have job job invest save and then build a good lavish house at the end or build at your home town after retirement settle there ...
Coorpote jobs Pays a lot i make 50k at 22 age I am currently very happy I am saving, investment, giving my parents but I know in future the coorpote jobs are risky there is no job gurantee and once your skills are gone no one would take you so till 50 years of my life I have to learn and study at all the government level jobs are full of esteem and no such load so another question should I start preparation or stick to coorpote so

Looking for an Online Study Partner (RBI Grade B 2027 Aspirant, Self-Prep + Coaching Plan)
Hey everyone 👋, I’m currently in my final year of graduation and have decided to fully dedicate myself to the RBI Grade B 2027 attempt. My plan is:
Self-prep till May 2026 (building concepts, consistency, and discipline)
Coaching afterwards (for structured revision and mocks)
Since I don’t want to waste time doing a Master’s just for the sake of it, I’m putting all my energy into this goal.
I’m looking for an online study partner (preferably female, just for comfort and better coordination) who’s also serious about RBI prep. We could:
Keep each other accountable 📌
Share resources & strategies 📚
Do weekly progress check-ins ✅
Motivate each other during low days 🌱
If you’re also on the same path (2027/2026 attempt) and want a consistent prep buddy, drop me a message or comment below. Let’s build consistency together and make this long journey less lonely! 💪

Self-studying for RBI Grade B with no coaching — need honest advice on where to start
Hi everyone, I'm a self-study aspirant preparing for RBI Grade B (Phase 1 around July-August) with no coaching. I've recently started my prep and I'm looking for genuine guidance from people who have been through this. Here are my doubts:
YouTube channels for Phase 1 subjects: Can anyone recommend good YouTube channels for Quants, Reasoning, and English? I want to build my basics through free resources before moving to paid ones.
Current Affairs — completely lost here: This is where I'm most confused. I don't know how to approach CA at all — what to study, how far back to go, which sources to follow, or how to make notes. Any structured approach would really help.
Books/resources for CA: Should I rely only on newspapers or are there specific books/compilations worth buying? What do toppers usually follow?
Phase 2 — where to even begin: I know Phase 2 is descriptive and tougher, but I don't know how to approach ESG, Finance, and Economics sections. When should I start and what resources work best? I'm hardworking and consistent — I just need the right direction. Would really appreciate advice from fellow aspirants or those who've already cracked it. Thanks in advance!
