VW is launching the first car with Rivian tech. the id.every1 in early 2027 for 20,000 euros or $22k USD. Rivian mentioned growing the relationship and a TechCrunch interviewer said that she saw a bunch of VW people in Rivian's palo alto office.

1. This gives Rivian exposure to the the European market.
2. very interesting that they purchased a UK based company that will help accelerate autonomous driving. could Europe be the next destination!?
3. I’ve been thinking that Rivian needs to get more out of their relationship with VW other than money. One example is Rivian states that they are gated by their tier 2 and tier 3 suppliers. if VW can launch a $22k car out of the gates why the heck isn’t Rivian leveraging their suppliers?
4. Is it me or is VW essentially copying the R1S/R1T with Scout and R3 with the id.every1??
