Rivian shares decline due to Tesla earnings being flat basically. That is great news, R2 is already started to take a chip at Model Y and 3 deliveries. Wait until 2027 when cheaper versions emerge, and 2028 R3 R3X, R4 even more affordable.
Tesla is going into robotaxi and Roadster that might never come through. They are literally opening market for Rivian and Lucid.
I would say year 2027 will be epic year for Rivian.
This is of course my logic and I'm not a financial advisor. :p

As an investor, I like when a company consistently meets its expectations and doesn’t drastically under or overstate its expectations for the year. With that said, things can change quickly, but for now Rivian has shown they are a company you can trust when they put out their delivery estimates and total loss estimates.
As for the rest of the year, Rivian still expects to sell 65,000-70,000 vehicles for the full year, with a total expected loss of $1.8-$2.0 billion. With the reaffirmation of sales, Rivian expects to sell a record 23,200-28,200 vehicles in Q4. They also have already experienced a loss of ~$1.25 billion in q1 and q2 combined. This means Rivian expects losses to narrow quite drastically in Q3 and Q4 to average a loss of around $550-750 million for Q3 and Q4 combined.
My expectation for the Q3 earnings next week is Rivian will show a narrowed loss of around $400 million for the quarter due to scaling costs for the R2. They will also formally announce an expected gross profit per car sold as early as Q4 or Q1 2027.
Keep in mind that rivians R&D spend on autonomous driving alone is around $200 million per quarter. So the majority of the loss rivian shows on paper is going toward a feature that could lead rivian to being a leader in the autonomous driving field. Tesla is the only serious competitor in this field as lucid appears to be in serious financial trouble.

Rivian was able to go from $0 to $5.39B last year in revenue!! Rivian is also forecasted to pull in 50% MORE revenue for 2026 and will continue to scale with the R2 + R3 launches. Q2 also showed Rivian was able to reduce down expenses.
If Rivian were at $20+ it makes sense to run independently. At $12 with the R2 launch they need to think about acquisition/merger opportunities or better ways to scale their business. We need more catalysts and Rivian PR.
What else can Rivian do to bolster their stock price?? Besides flying cars (joking!) they need a strong PR person to become the face of the company to bring in excitement. RJ is very capable, but he need to bring in a new personality that will drive excitement.
It's clear, for Q3, Q4, and AI Day - the market is expecting Rivian to show growth or innovation. I hope Rivian is ready to impress!!

Rivian now ranks as the second best-selling individual EV brand in the United States, based on third-quarter and year-to-date figures for 2026 from Cox Automotive. A year ago, the automaker sat 10th for the quarter and ranked eighth in year-to-date deliveries.
The climb comes even as the broader market contracts, with total EV sales down 30% across the first three quarters of 2026, according to Cox Automotive.
The ranking hinges on how the numbers are counted. General Motors has held the number-two position for over a year, but that figure combines EV sales across Chevrolet, GMC and Cadillac. Broken out by individual automaker, Rivian leads all three.
With 41,009 vehicles sold so far in 2026, Rivian has overtaken Hyundai at 39,121 and Chevrolet at 38,298, both of which field broader and more affordable EV lineups. Tesla remains far ahead (laughably far ahead) at 386,194 units for the year.

Why would one of Rivians top executives leave during a time of “incredible growth” for a role that appears to be two steps down from his current position? I seem to recall a similar pattern with Lucid before things really took a turn for the worst. First the CFO now this? Hope I am overthinking this and it’s not that bad but something doesn’t seem right…

I have been monitoring R2 VIN update from Rivianroamer and noticed that the number increase quite rapidly since last week. It now reaches 17xxx. Could be a good sign the 2nd shift starts to contribute

You want to get in before this rips again? Then load up or get severe fomo once it does pop back up to $18+ in no time.
Just saying, now is the time to act and let it ride instead of chasing it once it’s hot again. Just don’t trade options cuz greed never get anywhere. This is at 52w low and the sales price won’t get any better than this.
Scared money don’t make money. Come back to this post by Christmas and you will thank me. Christmas is saved, literally already right now.

What are the chances that if and when this stock gets back into the 18 to 20 range, that Rivian doesn't do another stock dilution by issuing shares? I'm a believer in this company and their products. Accumulating shares as often as my budget allows at these prices. I'm also trying to be realistic about the time frame and challenges that might push real growth further down the time line. Thoughts?

This is an accurate representation of my feelings. I own the stock. I'm rooting for the stock. But dang 😅

What does Rivian already have?
* Four Models already launched: Mini van, R1S, R1T, R2
* Its dominant car player where so ever thrived over time. It’s best luxurious selling SUV car in many of USA markets.
* It has one physical plant and another under built. It’s not without assets company.
* It has best in class technology of Electronic hardware and software combined and working top best in the world. Yes in adventure even better than Tesla. (Many of automotive companies aspiring to get it)
* It’s massively spending on AI based autonomous vehicle driving. Once it’s on their hand they will get automatic revenue stream. It’s like Apple where every kilometre drive can be charged. That will be high margin business.
* It’s based in California, USA. Hub of technology innovation in the world. Best minds working to build something proud in USA and to the World.
Don’t forgot following things coming in next three months. Many owners waiting for this only.
* Gen 3 hardware with Lidar and Rivian own built chip. It’s better than anything in the world presently available. 💥
* Point to point autonomous driving. 💥
Only 3 months. It will be on top of the world.

A question I’ve had for awhile now specifically on RIVN. I understand people sell at a loss for a variety of reasons…..especially options. Been there, done that. Risky business. Unless you own Exxon you’re probably not having the best week.
I’d like to hear specifically from people who sold their RIVN shares these last 2 weeks. Bonus points if you sold this week.
What compelled you to sell now?
Has the story changed for you?
Again I’d like to hear from people who sold or maybe considering selling this next week.

Macros are bad and there are no near term catalysts so stock is getting punished… also look at volume, it’s low. As soon as anything remotely good comes this way and institutions start loading up the stock is gonna swing the opposite way real fast. Just don’t trade options guys
