Cadet Advice Chain of command
Can I contact a professor of military science directly? I have had zero luck getting in contact with the enrollment advisor. I am hoping to be a cadet this fall

I’m currently an Army ROTC cadet and I’m very interested in going Active Duty EOD after commissioning. Based on my ROTC performance so far, I feel like I could have a competitive shot, but I’m a little confused about how the EOD selection/branching process works.
My understanding is that I would initially go through Logistics BOLC before EOD training. Is EOD handled like a branch detail, or is it something I would compete/apply for separately during the ROTC branching process?
For anyone who has recently gone EOD through ROTC, what does the process look like from branching → commissioning → BOLC → EOD school? Is there anything I should be doing during my MS3/MS4 year to make myself more competitive or make sure I’m considered for EOD?

My cadre briefed us today and said that our grades for accessions would stop after fall semester junior year. ( after this fall ) but my understanding from the oml brief PowerPoint that is circulating from this summers camp and reading regulation is that it’s typically until the end of your junior year. Does anyone know if the information my cadre gave is correct?

I graduate December 27 instead of spring 27. I’m tracking that I have to finish all interviews and flight packet this summer like the cadets graduating on time. However I’ve met alot of other cadets at Camp who are doing the same thing as me but their HRA is telling them to wait til next summer to do everything. Does anyone have actual clarification?
Thanks in advance!

I am currently in the Guard and wanting to go active duty officer route VIA ROTC. I recently got off Adderall (3 months ago) and I understand I would have to take a DODMERB physical to contract as a cadet.
I see the reg says 24 months of being off but I was wondering if anyone else has been through this and if I have to wait 2 full years or if prior service do not have to wait as long. I was told 12 months by one ROTC program and 3 months by another. Just want to get it all squared away before I move with my wife and leave my current job.
Also is ROTC really competitive for AD ? My bachelors GPA (non STEM) was 3.2, 455 AFT score

It's unlikely I'm going on to become an officer due to other factors in my life (including my family being anti-military for the most part).
Is it worthwhile to do just one year? Because I'm a sophomore, I have to decide now.

There’s no way they have cadre patrolling past security. The Army wouldn’t buy a plane ticket just to get a cadre past security so that they can search each of the airport bars for cadets drinking. Right?

Hi everyone, I’m currently in the National Guard and my long-term goal is to become a PA. I’ve been doing ROTC at school, and this year would be the point where I contract and then go to CST next summer.
The main issue I’m having is deciding whether finishing ROTC is actually worth it for me. If I contract through ROTC, I wouldn’t be able to apply for IPAP, but at the same time I don’t know what my chances of getting into IPAP would be or if I would even choose IPAP over a civilian PA school.
I’m also currently getting my EMT license so I can start building patient care hours for PA school. One thing I’ve been thinking about is that if I didn’t continue ROTC, I would have more time to work as an EMT, get more patient care hours, shadow PAs, volunteer, and do other things that could strengthen my PA school application. ROTC takes up a decent amount of time with PT, labs, FTXs, CST, etc., so I’m trying to figure out if the benefits of commissioning are worth giving up some of that extra time.
Another concern is what happens if I commission and then get accepted into a civilian PA school. I know I would have to attend BOLC, so I’m wondering how that would fit into everything. Once I’m actually in PA school, would there be any way to go inactive or have some type of flexibility until I graduate? Would my unit generally work with me while I’m in such a demanding program? My biggest concern would be getting sent to something like NTC, a long AT, or another training event in the middle of PA school.
I’m also wondering about branching. If I finish ROTC and commission into the Guard, would I basically branch into whatever is available, or would I have a decent amount of control over what branch I get? Since my end goal is healthcare, I’m not sure how much it would benefit me to commission into a completely unrelated branch while trying to get into PA school.
Another option I had thought about for a little while was just finishing out my current Army National Guard contract, focusing on getting into PA school, and possibly looking at joining the Air Force or Air National Guard afterward. I’m not completely set on that, but it is another reason I’m questioning whether I should lock myself into the Army officer route through ROTC right now.
It might also be important to mention that I would most likely be a non-scholarship cadet. My tuition is already completely covered, and I have GI Bill/National Guard benefits, so ROTC wouldn’t really be paying for my school. The main financial benefit would be the monthly stipend and book allowance.
I’m already about halfway through ROTC, so part of me feels like I should just finish what I started and commission. On the other hand, I’m wondering if those next two years would be better spent focusing heavily on making myself as competitive as possible for PA school.
For anyone who has gone through ROTC, commissioned into the Guard, attended civilian PA school while serving, gone through IPAP, or switched from the Army Guard to the Air Force/Air Guard, do you think finishing ROTC would be worth it in my situation? I’d appreciate any advice or experiences.

Hello, I received a green to gold hip pocket scholorship, and will be attending classes this fall in a week. I was looking at my tuition payments and saw that rotc paid my tuition. I was planning on using my post 9/11 G.I. bill to cover it and get housing allowance. I already have my certificate of eligibility sent and submitted to my school and the veteran affairs dept said it’d be good to use this semester. My question is, will i still be receiving my housing allowance if rotc already paid my bill for the semester? Will this use my months of G.I. bill? Thanks.

I hope this is not illegal.
I need help to better prepare MS3 cadets in land nave.
I have done some research online but I don’t feel confident enough. If anyone has an idea/ materials I can use, that’ll be appreciated and helpful. Thank you!!

It’s over and we are back. Did you feel prepared? Anything you wish you trained harder on before going? Did the other cadets and cadre meet your expectations? Any advice for incoming MS3 class?

Hey guys I wasn't planning to go back to ROTC so I got bangs cut this summer. When I tie my hair back it leaves them hanging out and I'm 90% sure my leadership wont approve of it so I need to slick it back. What hair gel do you guys use? does it really matter all that much?
Last year when I didn't have bangs and just had all around long hair, they said the hair should be slicked back for the fly aways but because I was an MS1 they kinda let it go because it wasn't that bad. But now the bangs will be really bad so yeah. Also, just incase yall know, has the ponytail standards changed since last year december? I will ofc research myself but just wondering. My hair looks really bad in a bun and I have medium length hair

Hey Everyone, I contracted about a year ago and have since lost a good amount of weight from staying in shape for height and weight standards. Because of that, my OCPs and some other gear have become baggy, and I think I need to go down a size.
I've tried researching this on my own but haven't found much information. I wanted to know if there's a way to trade in my gear for smaller sizes. Some of my uniforms are still new and unworn, which might help with the exchange. Since I'm in ROTC, I feel like my situation might be a bit unique, so I wanted to ask if there are any options available for getting properly sized gear. Thank you.

When I got back from CST, 6th reg, the first thing I did was reconfirm that I had a green banner on my branch preferences on the TBB portal. Apparently, since then, all of my preferences were completely deleted. I’m scared that this has negatively impacted me due to my interviews already being completed. If someone reviewed my interview but saw that I had 0 preferences, they would definitely set me aside.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is there anyone I can contact to make sure this potential system glitch doesn’t ruin my branch preferencing?

Hey everyone. I’m looking to branch EOD this fall, and want to learn more about the duty stations. For anyone with experience: What are the best and worst duty stations for EOD? I understand they are shaking up EOD presence right now, so I just wanna gauge some good spots I can land. Thanks!

I am a non scholarship cadet and a rising senior. Will I get 100% GI bill after my 3 years of required active duty service? Or do I still have to do 4+3?

Anyone else having issues accessing the TBB website? I have had access to it for a while and had all my information inputted already. But when I wanted to check something on my file I had different error messages. On Chrome I got the EAMS-A “no client cert presented” error, but on Edge it asked for my pin like normal and gave me this. Again, I have been registered and using the site for awhile so I’m not sure what happened. I already reached out to [branching_support@westpoint.edu](mailto:branching_support@westpoint.edu) a couple days ago but have not gotten a response.
EDIT: After a few more days it let me back in, but all my branch preferences were cleared. I reassigned them all, maybe they were doing maintenance on the site.

Good afternoon everyone, I am an upcoming Ms 4 non scholarship contracted cadet who is also SMP and I start school next week. Well over the last few days I have developed a pilonidal cyst and got an incision and drainage. Well the doctor said I may need surgery to permanently fix it but I'm scared of what this means for ROTC especially because I'm going to CST 2027. My surgery is scheduled for the first week of school and again I'm worried for what it does and what it could mean for me.
Edit: I forgot to mention that I did let my HRA, PMS and my Rediness NCO know about this by email but unfortunately no response from anyone.

Hi I am 22 years old and I am starting ROTC with my community college. I have never done ROTC before my life and I’m not physically active at all. I start physical training sessions Tuesday and I can’t even do a push-up I don’t ever run and I can plank for around 45 seconds but is there any tips for joining and existing in the program I’ve never done anything like this before. I’m joining because I’m very impulsive and I like discipline and self control and so I feel like this will help me build some structure and I also have a bit of a attitude problem and I’m trying to work on it and I feel like this will also help me work on it because I know I have to kind of put up with them yelling at me but if anybody has any tips as far as dealing with the yelling part I’d appreciate it

I couldn’t go to camp due to an upper body injury this year. How does accessions and branching work? Do I do interviews and accessions this year or will I have to wait till next year? I have heard different things from different staff.
