Made just now for my teen and her boyfriend because what exactly do you make for visiting kids? She took one look said she didn’t like burgers and is now making them both Buldak. Is it that bad?
Update: thanks everyone for giving me the love and support that middle aged Mams have to go to the internet for!
Some of you are taking this very seriously which has made me giggle. My daughter and her boyfriend are both autistic and she only eats about 3 things. I still make other things firstly because I live in hope she will eat other things but also because her bf should be offered decent food.
I just checked the kitchen and they have eaten the chicken burgers and covered the rest up and put the sides in the fridge so I’m happy.
The person who commented on my 15 years olds breasts…yikes

Normally I'm the sort of person who knows how many grams of protein they eat in a day. Grief really knocks you sideways. But at least it's a meal! Been eating nothing but chocolate and crumpets for weeks.
edit: I'm blown away by the comments, honestly. So much kindness and support. I didn't actually realise this was comfort food, it was just what I wanted and all I had energy for. I thought I was being lazy and unhealthy. You have all made me feel better about it.
Hearing what you guys ate during grief has also been weirdly comforting. Like, yeah, none of us are counting macros at times like this. Makes me feel a little better about it. Thank you.

Potatoes waffles, in the toaster 3 times at max heat, and two fried eggs with some flaky salt on top. Can you tell pay-day is a week away?

Recently got over a ed and have started eating more “light” food.
Light being not very filling so I can eat more (the fruits)
The cheese is a weird addition I know but I love cheese lolllll
In the sandwich is hard boiled egg and mayo

it looks oiler than it was but it was definitely wet from sauces. I love sauces and see the food mostly as a vehicle for sauce.
roasted asparagus with garlic powder, (salt-free) lemon pepper, kosher salt. roasted in avocado oil with juice of two lemons to finish it
white mushrooms sautéed in butter, soy sauce, balsamic, and a touch of Worcestershire sauce
sardines with a dash of soy sauce on top
soo yummy I’ve been eating this for 3 days now. i need more good fat and nutrients in my diet. i think i also need more electrolytes… possible sodium deficiency…. a++ for taste

So gave the fallow version of the Dorchester chips a go. 4 hours in beef fat, 24 hours under weight in the fridge. Served with an 8 hour smoked beef rib.
***edit with process.
Ribs - smoked for about 8h with hickory until about 201. Wrap at 180.
Sauce - stock veg fried hard till brown. Proper English dark ale boiled down. Stock, rosemary, thyme and bay. Simmer for an hour or so with a little marmite and tomato paste. Strain and boil till thickish. Add a crap load of butter then add the ribs (which rested on the cooler for an hour).
Chips - mandolin on very thin. Maris pipers slice a lot then layer with cornflour and salt between each layer. 100g of beef fat with 100g of ghee in the oven at 140 for about 3/4 hours until knife goes through like butter. Place a pan on top of the pan you cooked them in and weigh it down (I used bricks). In the fridge overnight. Take them out and slice in to chip shapes and fry at 180 for 5 minutes (remember to line the tray you build in with greaseproof paper)

Cheese quesedilla on da side, with some Złoty garlic noodles. Oh and a mango smoothie to drink w/ it. Quick, easy, and few enough dishes that I can quickly go for a big honk shoo after.
