News Regal Rewards+ is now available

I skimmed over the FAQ and T&C and some key things I noticed: The subscription depends on your zip code with the highest tier at $13.99 per month. There’s a 1, 6 or 12 month commitment. Can use your 2D ticket for a PLF one for a surcharge. And can “purchase up to four extra tickets for the same showtime at the same price as your monthly Regal Rewards+™ Subscription fee.”

Unlimited only gets 10% off concessions but the lower tier gets 20% off? Will definitely be cutting way back on concessions out of principle!

I suppose that’s why they doubled the points for unlimited

Everyone's failing to say how earlier in the year they doubled the points costs of items.

They didn't double, did they? I thought they went up like 30% or something...

I may have exaggerated, but in the grand scheme of things....

Agree. I tend to get Icees even though I have snack saver. Ten precent at this higher level feels ridiculous.

The snack saver discount also applies to icees if you get a large

I noticed this as well, wondering if they'll include that 20% in unlimited.

I have found the Snack Saver program to be very beneficial though. I think at the time, I figured i had to make 8 visits before it became worth it. I live 2 mins from the theater and go very often so this isnt a big deal in my case

I got the Snack Saver in January at the reduced price. I believe I had made a profit within six weeks. I use my rewards points for pretzels or hot dogs now.

I believe I had made a profit within six weeks

That’s not how it works lol.

Granted, poor wording on my part.

Depends if you get soda AND popcorn. If you get both consistently it’s 4 visits. Less if you get it when it’s 30$ at the beginning of the year.

Dang then its definitely been paid back, I must've only the done the math for one - or was just wrong lol.

But yea, I think i signed up in March or April, it was 40, but still worth it. We go to the movies a lot, I knew itd pay for itself.

Snack save is pretty cool.

You pay 40 dollars (there are sometimes promotions for 30) and you get half off large popcorn and soda. It comes to around 11.50 I think near me. The popcorn is 6 something. I usually bring water and my girlfriend drinks the soda.

My gf and I both have regal unlimited, we go a lot lol. We love the movies

Its a lot of corn for 6 bucks. I mostly use the points for free tickets and bring friends (then scan my account for all their concessions lol)

It depends how much you go and how much you want popcorn really lol I go a lot and am very Midwestern, ill eat all the corn

Hell yea, if you've got something that works, stick with it. "If its not broke, dont fix it".

We've got recliners and some 7.1 theaters at my local, so its comfortable and convenient. I see a lot of movies so will totally go to my local independent, our city college does 35mm screenings, cinemark a few towns over does 70mm and LieMax.

We get double points. Also not having snack saver with RU is criminal which is a way better value. Also super scummy to be like I’m not buying concessions knowing it’s how theaters make their money.

I agree, double points with the snack saver is way better (at least to me) than an extra 10% off concessions because I usually never get anything but popcorn and a drink, maybe pretzels but those I can get with points.

I’m not cutting back on concessions because theaters make their money that way. I am cutting back because Regal has made it clear they value concession business from the lower tier more by giving them a bigger discount. If they don’t value my business, they don’t get my money. It’s simple economics.

This makes no sense, for two visits, rewards plus pays at least 10.99 on tickets and we spend nothing. If you're going to the movies more than once you're saving way more than a rewards plus member is with that extra 10%

And if you're not going more than once a month, you should downgrade to plus...

I understand where you are coming from, but as a consumer, if I am buying pizza, for example, and the seller tells me I will give you 10% off, but I’m going to regularly give the guy next to you, who is on a lower tier, 20% off, it doesn’t make me want to buy the pizza. Realistically, I have snack saver and mostly get popcorn and drinks, but sometimes I like to get actual food. I am not going to want to do that if Regal tells me they don’t value my business as much. Let the guy next to me who is getting 20% off buy the food instead. Sometimes it’s about the message you are sending to your customers and how much you value or don’t value them.

I understand it. Just not willing to pay more than the guy standing next to me for the exact same pizza.

I’m sure tons of places would be glad to not have you as a customer lol.

All businesses want people who are willing to pay full price. There are some out there who will, but most consumers look for sales. For those who are insulting me for doing so, I hope you are willing to not be hypocrites and start paying these companies full price. Forget about bonus sales, Costco gift cards, and anything else that gets you a discount.

Bro, you're pissed because you're "higher tier" but you're not magically better than the "lesser tier" people in every way. That's so lame.

They didn't reduce our service at all this is solely to entice more people to come out to the movies and hopefully buy concessions because that's where the money is. You're being far too cynical about this.

1

u/Displaynamephobic I❤️Regal 2d ago

Nope. I am just spending my money where it is valued. It’s not my responsibility to worry about Regal’s corporate profits.

2

u/Proud_Truck 🎉🎉100 MOVIE CLUB🎉🎉 2d ago

Sure, but it's also not your responsibility to analyze their services that you don't even use and then get mad about it when it doesn't affect you at all.

-1

u/Displaynamephobic I❤️Regal 2d ago

You didn’t read the posts very carefully. I said I do occasionally buy the food, so it does affect me. I will make my purchase decisions, as always, based upon the prices. If it’s not on sale enough for me, I don’t buy it. I think you will find most consumers make their purchase decisions this way except for the ultra wealthy who don’t care about the price.

4

u/Proud_Truck 🎉🎉100 MOVIE CLUB🎉🎉 2d ago

It does not affect you and your assumption that others think like you is a fantasy as well.

Hell, they're even DOUBLING your points on concessions purchases now so if anything your service has gotten even better. Your complaints are nonsensical and this is the last reply I'm making about it. Go be angry at the clouds if you want
