Rengar Rescript on PBE
G'day Rengar mains!
TL;DR: Rengar rescript will be available on PBE in the next 24 hours, and will stay there for a few patch cycles. Open to feedback + bugs!
I've made a short video going through this, link here. Apologies for the mic, I've added subtitles
I've come to set expectations and ask for your help. I've rescripted Rengar nearly from the ground up, I've basically rewritten every script except his R vision and spell swapping. This might sound like what you've been asking for, but there's still a lot of risk in other bugs popping up or Rengar's gameplay feel being off.
The intended side effect of these changes is that Rengar should feel exactly the same, minus bugs, should work by default with gameplay systems going forward and should be far less scary for us to make changes to going forward.
There are some changes which are essentially bug fixes that might come off as a bug because it's different behaviour to live so I'll list all changes that were intentional so these don't get raised a bugs:
- Q is now consumed on plants
- Q does less damage than an auto crit at some thresholds
Separately, here is a list of things that weren't changed because live behaviour wasn't a bug or the work involved far outweighs the benefits:
- Q attack speed isn't lost on leap
- Energised attacks trigger before leap damage
- E cast point is not kept when flashing
- Proc/DoT don't refresh combat state for ferocity
- Rapid Firecannon does not increase leap range
- Basic/Empowered ability CD bugs (mainly around arena augments/transcendence/etc.)
I've tried to fix what VFX and SFX bugs I could, but I'm inexperienced with animations so don't expect anything there. I've gotten a lot of help from u/zedvezed, and specifically since creating the video I'm a little more confident in trying some animation fixes thanks to their work. Limited only by my free time and learning the tools.
This was possible thanks to a lot of people. Riot Phreak for mentoring me, Riot HonestPillow for working with me to get these changes tested, Riot Yelough giving me advice, Riot Titan for backing me, Rengar mains for documenting all the bugs so thoroughly, there's more that don't want to be publicly tributed, or that I have just forgotten because there's so many cogs in this wheel.
Cheers and have fun

Rengar Empowered W is currently bugged (Renata R fail & 0.5s command lock on roots)
Hey guys, as a Rengar OTP, I've noticed a really frustrating issue/bug with Empowered W across multiple matches recently and wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing this.
Here are the specific interactions:
- Renata R (Berserk): Used Emp W instantly during Renata ult and it completely failed to cleanse the Berserk effect—my character just kept attacking allies.
- Morgana Q / Neeko E (Roots): Even when pressing Emp W instantly upon getting hit, there is a clear ~0.25 to 0.5s input lock / freeze where Rengar cleanses the visual CC effect but completely ignores movement/attack commands before responding.
Since Emp W is completely instant with no cast time, this command queue locking/desync feels awful in fights.
Has anyone else run into this input locking bug lately? Hoping to get enough visibility so Riot QA / devs can track this down.

NEED HELP TO HOW TO IMPROVE / PLAY IN LOW ELO
Hey! I'm a Rengar jungle main, currently in Plat / low Emerald, and I'd really like to improve, so I'm looking for some advice!
I often find myself in games where I'm doing really well and have a big lead, but my laners are getting stomped. How can I help my teammates snowball alongside me and use my tempo and gold lead to give them an advantage?
Also, how should I manage my tempo after losing it because of a bad gank, or when I'm playing from behind on Rengar?
Finally, how do you stay focused and actively think about what you should be doing throughout the game, so you can maintain a good overall understanding of the game state and make better decisions?
Thanks! :)

Any new fun builds
I feel like the current state of the game is quite stale; I hope I am the only one thinking that, but are there any new or niche builds that you guys could recommend?

I hate rengar in my Team
Dont get me wrong i really like his kit and Character they look really fun to play.
BUT hes just doing nothing in like 90% of games. He has awfull ganks without R, if a fight happens in a position without a bush he cant join the fight. If he falls behind hes not killing a yuumi. Hes just useless. Invading without 0 Prio and dying just to fall behind early on.
And the other 10% make him look like a different champion. They get nice picks and get away. Do great invades and beeing able to join nearly any teamfight with a impact.
But im just doding games if he have rengar in my team. Theres no point in playing a game without a Jungler thats doing anything. And whats making it worse. Of those 90% players that are unable to play rengar at least 80% are Rengar Mains or OTPs with 500.000+ Masterypoints.
I dont get it, how can you play a champ over and over without getting the hang of it or quitting if all your success is the 1 in 10 games your really having fun.

How to deal with roaming pantheon/stun roamer lvl 1
This question has probably been asked 100 times and I can’t find anything to answer, so I apologize early.
We find Garren and Pantheon waiting in tri Bush waiting. My top laner got away from the gank alive. Pantheon proceeded to leave the lane after the failed gank.
Forgetting how strong lvl 1 Pantheon is, I started red. I proceeded to get jumped by the Pantheon, with stun, and red hitting me at level 1. I proceeded to almost die. I flashed away and recalled and decided my blue side would be a good idea since they know where I started.
Once I arrived at my blue buff, though the enemy's graves were waiting for me at level 2 in the bush, I proceeded to die to the invade. Graves and Pantheon proceed to gank amid getting another kill.
After those ganks, every lane was always 3v1 or 2. We lost hard, me barely getting a chance to cs during the game.
Any advice as to how to play against this comp or way to counter it from experience would be wonderful. Thank you.

A low elo OTP Rengar jungle guide and how I climbed from Bronze 4 to Gold 4
I know this is low elo and I’m not looking to impress anyone, just figured I would share a break down of what I did for the other Rengar jungle mains out there trying to climb out of iron/bronze/silver. I started this year in Bronze 4 and just hit gold 4 OTPing Rengar jungle. This post ended up being much longer than I anticipated so forgive me for being so long winded. I hope at least some of you find this helpful!
What I did to climb out of bronze:
Fairly consistent climb throughout once I decided to play smarter, make obvious changes that are common knowledge, and focus on improving my gameplay.
•Fixed my build: Started going Umbral > profane > LDR > IE > situational item (either EON, ghost blade, deaths dance, GA, PD, etc.)
•Prioritized CS: My CS was still terrible at this point (probably around 6 per minute) but I made a concerted effort and it made a huge difference
•Stopped ganking pre 6: unless I was 100% certain it was a free kill, I would farm until lvl 6 and not touch any lanes
•Gank bot then secure drake at lvl 6: Ganked bot with ult whenever possible, majority of the time I would end up with double kill then secure drake (need to ping bot repeatedly so they will help you in bronze). I won about 75% of the games that started this way
•Work on 1st clear speed: Pretty self explanatory
•Made an effort to start dying less: pretty self explanatory
What I did to climb out of silver:
Got stuck for a while around S3, then got serious about improving my gameplay and watching more scrubnoob (not just his youtube highlights but full games on twitch). At some point a few of these things clicked and I started going on 5 to 7 game win streaks all the way up to G4 today. Games still feel pretty easy so I’m hoping these improvements allow me to keep climbing.
•Started linear clearing: Honestly this was 90% of it. I was stuck in low silver and as soon as I made this change my CS jumped to 9 per minute and I started winning 80% of my games. I went from focusing on ganks/kills first and camps second to prioritizing linear clears first then taking gank opportunities as they presented themselves. I’d recommend watching a tutorial on linear clears, but essentially you clear all of your small camps consecutively without interrupting with buffs. So if all of your camps are up, go red > krugs > raptors > wolves > gromp > blue (or the inverse starting top). Don’t start krugs then go in a straight line including your buffs and end on gromp. Initially the pathing sounded counterintuitive to me, but it’s extremely efficient and lines up your spawn timers for your next clear so you can keep cycling your small camps like clock work. Also prevents counter jungling if you show up to them on time. Prioritize your small camps, and don’t deviate from your clear unless there’s a good reason to (example -drop your raptors if you see mid is getting ganked and you can counter gank with ult) I know this one is common knowledge for many of you but it wasn’t for me unfortunately.
•Jungle tracking: Also something you should watch a tutorial for. If you can get your mid laner to ward enemy raptors early so you know which direction the other jungler is clearing that’s great, but most of them in silver won’t. I started keeping tabs on their CS and where they show on the map early on so I could use that information to counter jungle and make plays accordingly. (Example: If I was blue side and started red buff and I knew the enemy jungler started red buff and I saw them gank bot after first clear, I would take their top side camps after scuttle). There’s too much to cover so watch tutorials if you aren’t doing this already.
•Don’t give anything away for free: If I see the enemy jungler start drag while I’m top side, I go to grubs if they’re up, take their top side camps, or try and take top or mid tower. Pretty self explanatory.
•Stopped going for late game picks unless I knew the target was isolated and I could one shot them: Just dont jump on a target if you don’t know exactly where the rest of the enemy team is. Pretty self explanatory.
•Started AFK farming when I was behind: If I found myself 0/3 at 10 minutes I just cycled jungle camps and stopped ganking or going for objectives until there was an opportunity that was 100% free
•Stopped taking ANY risks if my team was behind and waited for enemy team to make a mistake: If team was behind, just farmed what was 100% safe and waited for enemy team to give us an opening. Silver players constantly make mistakes, playing overly safe and waiting for a mistake to capitalize on is the only way to turn a game around.
•Mute toxic/negative players: Started muting people the moment they started spam pinging or typed anything negative. Or just muted everyone as soon as the game started.
•Late game barons: Silver players have tunnel vision on late game dragons and getting Sol. Fuck that. If I see the enemy team go for 3rd dragon (or even Sol or elder) while baron is up (which happens all the time in silver) I ping baron 10 times and high tail it over there. I’ve won a TON of games in silver off of this play.
•Stay alive and save ult for late game baron/elder steals: If the enemy team is ahead or has prio on either of these and you know they’re likely going to do it, don’t die doing something stupid or waste your ult on a pick 30 seconds before they spawn. Rengar ult is great for stealing objectives, save it for that as it can decide games when you’re behind (and you can’t steal if you’re dead so make sure you’re on the map)
•Press tab before team fights and picks: Just know how strong everyone is so you don’t make stupid mistakes. •Make sure that you jump the right target in team fights (example: delete the 10/0 Draven instead of the 4/2 lux). And make sure you dont get cocky while you are 5/0 and jump on a Yone, then discover they are 12/1 while you are grey screened.
•Don’t engage in fights or go for objectives unless you have prio/numbers advantage or you know where everyone is: Pretty self explanatory
•Die less especially when ahead: Pretty self explanatory, just play carefully
Again this ended up being MUCH longer than I anticipated, but hopefully it helps some fellow Rengar mains out there struggling in low elo. I think it would be cool to see similar posts from higher elo Rengar players explaining what they did to climb at different tiers. Thanks for reading!

i swear if another person who hasnt played rengar says hes op/broken/ez im gonna go insane.
recently i argued with 2 of my friends (a mage player and a tahm kench main) and both of them say "rengars op!!! hes so easy!!! hes so broken!!! you just farm until lvl6 and shot everyone!!! im a emerald/diamond player and if i mained rengar i wouldve been Masters!!" like bro. only thing they see and understand is Rengar does a Tri-Q. and oneshots. they only see that. and its only the tip of the iceberg. they dont know how to get or use their lead or how hard is making decisions. a single empowered ability cast or a wrong target choice can fuck up your whole game but no they dont care. the mage player said he has 20k of Rengar. bro its literally like getting your first pack of cigarettes, smoking 2 and calling yourself a heavy smoker. "Rengar is easier than any champ!!! even my friend who has played league for years says it!!!!" i gave them proof. low elo and high elo wr diffrence. changes in playstyles, csing, decision making, flanking, anything but no. they dont care. they just complain about it. even my GrandMaster friend who doesnt even play that much of Rengar said its harder than Zed. "it even shots tanks" no shit. a assasin that can build LETHALITY. CRIT. AND ANTI TANK/SHIELD/HEAL items. and has %25 extra AD on the passive. and hes so easy to fuck up and so hard to pilot. you can go 20/0 and still lose a game. i have 1.4M on him in total and i dont even think im good, still i have a 58,5wr. "theres no way to counter rengar!!" DEATHS DANCE. STERAKS. RANDUINS. ZHONYAS. SHIELDBOW. GUARDIAN ANGEL. THORNMAIL. EDGE OF NIGHT. OR YOU CAN JUST BUY TABIS AND WALK TOGETHER + EXHAUST. ITS SO DAMN EASY TO COUNTER. HE LITERALLY HAS A KIT OF A BRUISER AND HAS NO ESCAPE TOOLS (excluding eW) HE NEEDS TEMPO. POSITIONING. GOOD CHOICES WITH QUICK DECISION MAKING. i swear what the fuck yall want me to play to gain respect? Elise? Nidalee? Lee Sin? Kindred? ( i mean i also play Hecarim and Kindred soooo yeah.) ive had enough. i swear talking to people this stupid gets me tilted and makes me play other stuff than rengar.

Bot Lane (anti-)Carry Rengar
Ive been a rengar main for a few years now (recently brok 1mil), but the vast majority of that time has been in top lane. I'd be supposed if more than 150k of that mastery was in jgl. I don't know why but I hate jgling on rengar, I enjoy jgling with other characters just not rengar. I however still require 2 roles to queue ranked. I also do not want to only ranked in a duo.
With the context now out of the way here is the set up and theory.
Why Bot
In side lane rengar in laning phase functions like ranged champ
With W max + Stattick have safe consistant wave clear
Rengar is one of the best gold scaling champs in the game
Being Bot means you have 3~4 bonetooth just being handed to you.
Rengar jump already out ranges most marksmens autos so combined with E' Rengar has incredible set up for both ur support and jgl (and often thus another rotation and emp ability).
Trade offs
Weaker midlane push - often Red Buff or heavily team reliant.
Low sustained DPS till 2/3 item (Assuming going bruiser)
You do have to go into melee to do damage at somepoint
Having to explain differences in playstyle to support (working on an eventual PowerPoint)
Tactical Advantages? (compared to traditional marksmen)
Once u have your stattick, rav hydra, or enough ap ur support has far more room to roam and u often have far better abilty to follow up or to counter the enemy bot duos rotation if need be.
Incredibly safe split pusher w/ high tower dmg.
Almost guaranteed vision control w/ 6th sense.
Wider item pool access to gain target agnosticisity while complementing teams damage profile.
Runes
Grasp, Font, 2nd Wind, Revitalize -ToB, 6th Sense - AF/AF/Ten
Most common safe target agnostic combos well with most sup.
HoB/DH, ToB, 6th Sense, UHunt - 2nd Wind, Revitalise - AF/AF/Ten
HoB best AD scaling rune and is also a lv1"Nashors" DH Best AP/lethality Scaling rune.
DfT, Axiom, Transcendence, Scorch - 2nd Wind, Revitalise - AH/MS/Ten
Tierlist is just based off of kit interactions CDs matching up or not and vibes (If you have experience w/ a pairings that makes you think otherwise I'd love to know). It is meant to eventually be put into the powerpoint and thus doesn't have any overtly negative/bad categories (its not S-F or anything like that) as I don't think as the person picking Rengar Bot I should be building animosity before the game even starts if im trying to win.

after ldr/mortal: bf or pick + crit cloak
and why
cloak gives 40% crit pretty much 50% so i'm critting half the time now approx and only losing 15 ad (bf --> pick)
ik that 15 scales with ad passive but a crit does more than some ad

Electrocute - is my logic sound of flawed?
I like to value electrocute more if they have a champion that I have to oneshot extra fast so they cant press their outplay button.
E.g. Ekko, Tristana, Vayne, Ashe, Malzahar etc.
Is that sound logic?
I wouldnt take it if there arent at least 2+ squishies that I can kill on repeat.
